What's Your Business?

Candles, Soaps and Bath Products

About Me:

Wow, where to I begin. I am married, the mother of 6 and the grandmother of 8. I lost my 26 year old daughter iin 2003, and truly thought that my world and life were over. Don't ask me how, but I discovered this wonderful work at home opportunity, and it has been non stop ever since. This business has done for me what no anti depressant pill could ever. I feel blessed and I am grateful that I kept my faith in tact until HE was ready and I was ready to be guided.

  • Hi Cheryl! Wow....those candles sound delicious! (I love candles, but it seems like they are getting more and more expensive! Is there a wax shortage I should know about?)

It sounds like you are incredibly happy with the field you are in! I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your present and future endeavors. I would love to have you join my Sistas Online Group - I want it to be devoted to sharing tips and tricks about working online, favorite sites, and Q&A.

By any chance have you heard of Microsoft's Office Live Small Business? It's designed for small businesses, like yours, to help organize and manage your business online. You can create a website and domain name for FREE for the first year, and only $15/year after that for maintenance. It's sort of what you could call a "one-stop shop", since you can have your website, domain name, company e-mail, store, and documents all in one place, instead of logging onto 100 different sites to manage everything!

I also love sending out newsletters (as most people do), which is where the Email Marketing beta comes in handy, because I can finally send out email blasts with HTML AND see who's opening them! It's great in determining what's effective when it comes to email marketing.

You should check it out at http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/ - you can see more about the tools and applications.

And even if you already have a website, you can keep the same domain and still switch over to OLSB to use all the tools. I work with Microsoft, so let me know what you think! I look forward to hearing from you :)

    Regards,
    Michelle

    P.S. I added you as a friend! I hope that's okay.
  • Hello Cheryl! Nice to E-meet you :)

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter, but it sounds like you have a thriving home-based business now; something that many women strive for and can never attain!

Tell me more about Scent-Sations! How did you get involved?

I look forward to hearing from you...don't be a stranger!

    Best wishes,
    Michelle

    - To benefit from "black buying power" you have to be visible.
    - The NBYP was created in 1984 to be the optimal source through which to find quality Black/ African American business owners and business professionals.
    - Those businesses that use the Internet grew 46% faster than those that didn't according to the US Department of Commerce.
    - 87% of online users depend on the Internet to access local information (don't you?) according to Digitrends
    - 52.7% of online business directory users visit a business because of what they saw online also according to Digitrends.
    - A listing in the National Black Yellow Pages will promote you locally and expose you globally.
    - You can advertise with us at prices starting at less than $1.10 per day.
