About Me:

Young, black, and female. A recipe for failure for those like myself who aim to be successful. Yet by successful I do not just mean in green paper and coins, I mean becoming an influence. I'm already a locally noted author, poet, and writer, a leader to amongst young girls, not to mention I'm 18. Yes, emphasis a young woman such as myself with great thoughts in her head. Although the point is, I would like to turn my abnormal talents into a business, not just for the money (although that never hurts) BUT to be few of the fortunate that wake up each day doing something they actually enjoy AND giving back to the community= the true meaning of success. My mother was very hardworkking. At (cough, cough) years of living 18 years of her life has been faithful to mines. She worked two jobs, while balancing school, and excluded her social life on my (and my younger sister) behalf. She taught me the meaning of hardwork or how you say it in my day "the hussle" and determination. Yet going to work, complaining, sleep, and repeat is not the meaning of success. Do not be mistaken we live very well, safe in the surburb, sheilded from black on black war, and so forth. So in the eyes of society and ......fellow neighbors we are successful. ----Not according to my standards. Yes my mother has helped out the community by working and paying those taxes, amen. She is excited to see me grow into another strong woman. Anxious to see where I can go. But she is not happy. Even with the many degrees she has recieved over the long grueling trail of school, she is not happy. Not sayin she is miserable, but if your life goes in a routine other than the way you like it....you have an issue. So its my responsibility to become successful. Remember what it meant? It means doing what you enjoy, giving back to the community, and oh yeah, giving back to momma. There is nothing like a moment where you could say, "Momma, quit that job. You house is payed off. I paying for that new mercedes out front, and for that business YOU wanted to start. To anyone who made it to this paragraph, just remember to not give up acheiving your dreams. Take chances. Life is too short to be letting them go by. You know the meaning of "the sky is your limit" let me tell you, until the day you reach heaven, everyday your live before than should be more and more prosperous. As my teacher would say, "Use today because you can't use it tomorrow." Even if you fail. Pick yourself up and start from square one. Nothing worth coming, comes with ease. (That goes for dating too) But I'm not going to go there. So I'll try to close with this. Its never to late to achieve for those who are like my mother and its never too EARLY to achieve, if your like myself. I said I was closing, but I lied. My point of being here is to surround myself with mentality such as my own. Being 18 with a mind like mines is not common. Believe me. So I'm here to intake as much knowledge as possible and to build stable relationships with anyone who is willing. By age 21 (that's right I have my seven year plan!) I'll be a childcare provider, a business owner a local talent show, with a television show, and radios station. Too much? You didn't even here by 15 year plan.

  • I admire you my young sister ! Thank your Queen Mother for me. You are our future and I am so honored. Your success is in the horizon waiting for you to approach it with the great spirit which you embody. Continue on your journey and do not ever allow anyone or anything to cause you to lose focus. One more thing, I am a DELTA and it is one of the most rewarding things I have done. The best piece of advice I can give you is this, never go into an organization thinking of what they can do for you its about what you can do for the organization and what you bring to the table. I make Delta, Delta does NOT make me. I love my sorors with ALL my soul, it is VERY rewarding. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
    Peace & Infinite Blessings

  • Hello,

Please check out this month issue of The Adventist Times www.theadventisttimes.com/.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month www.nationalbreastcancer.org/default.aspx

Do use the month of September to find a way to support the Breast Cancer Movement, even if it's just to increase your knowledge.

View the Breast Cancer articles and video segments. Encourage your loved ones to schedule their mammogram's for October, and remember to do Self -Examinations. Early detection is key!

Breast Cancer is not just a woman's disease, men should examine their breasts as well.

I've received TONS of requests to re-play the interview with David and Tamela Mann. She's so pretty!
    Well here it is...ENJOY!
