Ray, The Color Purple, and Jitney, were the top award winners.Dancing with the Stars and R&B idol, Mario rocked the house. It was amazing to see the cadre and caliber of Black celebrity attendee's. Vivica A. Fox received the Spirit Award. Legendary Broadway conductor/arranger Harold Wheeler was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.We're always talking about the way Black culture is negatively presented in the media.
