Use Your Resources Wisely

It is important to step out of the mentality of cyclical poverty into the land of freedom, wealth, and prosperity. Ironically you can't do that if you are spending frivolously and not taking advantage of your resources. While I lived in NY I did not use Public transportation. I did a lot of walking. Now that we are in West Virginia my son and I still walk, and bus rides are .50(yes, 50 cents) per ride. So that option is available although we do have a car. .50 vs. almost $4.00 I choose the bus. It is funny, people offer my son rides all the time but I always decline because walking very healthy for you and we live in a small town. So my point is that while we can afford to drive around in our vehicle all the time, we don't! A book was written about the millionaire next door. Not all millionaires spend their money recklessly. They drive beat up cars, wear regular clothes, and usually are very cheap. That is how they became rich. For example, a very wealthy silver dealer in NY asked me if I could sell some silver that he was interested in buying from us for a much lower price than bargain price that we offered. He could sell only 4 pieces of the 28 pieces of silver and make his money that he spent on the purchase back. The rest of the money is his profit. There are also your public millionaires who spend their money very wisely as well. Months ago an article was written about Clinton's campaign being in the red by 8 million dollars. Why not? Rather than pay the expenses immediately, the funds can be invested so that they make the 8 million back plus a surplus of extra funds. So it is not a crime not to pay your bills on time especially when they will eventually be paid. This is what I mean by thinking outside the box. This is a term used often among very wealthy people. In truth the only thing that we absolutely need in life is food, shelter, and clothing. There are ways to spend wisely around these things as well. If ideally you can't grow your own food or join a community co-op you can shop at warehouses like Sam's Club to buy food in bulk. Also you can buy multiple sale items to keep on hand when you need them. You can shop at the Thrift or discounted clothing store for clothes. You can get a roommate or take in a border for shelter. Although TV, cable, cell phones, movies tickets or DVDs, etc. are luxury items there are still ways to have and use them without spending a lot of money. For example while we don't watch a lot of TV our son loves animals, so he watches some on-line videos from the "National Geographic Channel. While TV is a luxury the Internet is a necessity for us and it actually helps us with using our resources wisely. I challenge those who read this blog to make a list of things to save $100 in the next month by eliminating items that you don't need. And I invite those that have tips on using your resources wisely to please share in the comments section of this blog. YHWH wants us to blessed by using our resources wisely. (Deu/Debarim 11) And YHWH shall make you to have plenty of what is good, in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land of which YHWH swore to your fathers to give you. Have a blessed and prosperous week.Shalom,Tamar
