Ok, I noticed it has been a LONG time since my first post.Lot's of things happening, but the thing that drives this post was my quest to change the presentation of this site to something I could bear to look at. The pink thing was KILLING me! No seriously: it was!I was never a "pink" girl. I was always a "purple" girl. I liked intense earthy colors,--in flowers, in clothing, in men, in everything! Throughout life, I have found that when i stray from what makes me comfortable, I fail. Like, this week, I'm trying to find a present for a little girl. She's not a "pink" girl, but she still wears a lot of pink. But, I simply can NOT force myself to walk into that mall store with the kids clothes in those God-awful pastels. I can't do it. I won't spend my money there. No, what I need is a sensible shop. A place where a girl can find something she needs and not run screaming because some one else has decided that for some reason "real girls" like pink. What if we all just decided that "real girls" like COLORS. That way, no girl would be left behind. So, in my struggle with this site and the OTT pink color scheme, I decided to take responsibility for my discomfort and see if ther was a way to find a color scheme that would encourage me to participate in this fantastic resource for black women.I found it. It took a while (but I've got it like that). Go to "Settings" in the uppoer right hand side bar, just under tyo9ur name and "sign out." Don't click sign out (your pain will soon be over, I promise). Instead, click "Settings." You're two clicks away from happiness! Then, witch to the left hand side and click on "Appearance." Once you do that, click on "Edit Apperance Page."Hear angels singing? Then, you've found the right place!Select your color schme. If you must change one, then it's ok, you can always change it again later, but I'd recomend just selectng one and then running away. Interior decorating energy is better spent on your living room than a business website. Make it tolerabe and get back to networking! So, yes, did I find just the right color scheme to made me truly feel like a truly empowered black woman?Yes.The name? "Cheesecake."[sigh]
