When the Garden of Eden didn't work out, God had a back up plan for both Himself and the world. His backup plan was Jesus. The darkness and destruction that was in store for man couldn't materialize because God had already planned out a just in case scenario. Imagine for a moment that God had no plan to address Adam and Eve's folly. Where would we as believers be? That is a very scary proposition. So is the idea of not having a savings account. Most of us are so busy trying to stay up to date with our financial obligations we don't have time to think about a what if scenario. Let's take a moment to explore one though.Plan A was for Sheena to have the washer and dryer last at least 1 more year so she can buy a new one with her income tax refund check. BUT........ What if the washer breaks tomorrow? With no Savings Account what is Sheena's plan b?A. Buy a new washer on her old credit card with the high interest rateB. Apply for a new store card and hope to be approved for enough to purchase a new washerC. Sheena can decide to wait on her income tax money to buy her new washer. However that also means that she needs to go to the bank, get some rolls of quarters and head to the laundromat on a weekly basis for the next several months. However if Sheena had a Savings Account she would also have an Option D. She could simply transfer the necessary money from Savings to Checking and go right to Sears.A Savings Account is a plan b that we all should have. Life and our plans for it are always changing and it often takes money to implement the changes we need to make happen in our lives.Consider This........If God Himself had to plan for things not to go as He planned, how can we mere mortals expect plan A to always work?Written By Tanai M.
