Back to the basics

BACK TO THE BASICS!1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)The first thing that comes to mind when the average Christian hears back to the basics is the cross. We immediately think salvation, but that is not the beginning. Week after week in Churches all over the world, people keep going back to the alter to get saved. One of the greatest weapons the enemy has used against us is doubt in who we really are. If you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, you believe in His finished work on the cross, then you are saved and all your sins have been forgiven. All means all past, present and future. Stop dwelling on every time you make a mistake. You are unfortunately still in this human form and will do that which you shouldn’t from time to time. You can judge your growth in the spirit realm when these occurrences happen less and less frequent and by the fact when they do happen, you are immediately convicted, and you repent and move on.Remember when Paul was speaking to the believers in Hebrews 5, he told them they should be teachers, but they still needed to be taught. When they should have been partaking of the meat of the Gospel they were still drinking the milk and because of that they could not progress in the things of God. It is time to get off the milk of the word and get to the meat. There is much to do so let’s grow up and get busy fulfilling our creative purpose. If we are to be true Kingdom builders then we need to go back to our original intended purpose for being here. John 1:1 says in the beginning was the Word, not the cross. So let’s go back to the beginning when the Word was with God, and the Word was God.Now for all you bible scholars, we know that Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh, but do you fully understand that so are we. No, I have not blasphemed. I will prove it.3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. (Ephesians 1:3-4)When God choose us, we were in Christ before the foundation of the world. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God. We where there in the Word from the very beginning. The little g gods where there with the Big G God from the beginning. I know some of you have issues with being called gods, but the Father called you that because He created you in His image so you are that which He says you are. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Psalms 82:6 (KJV) And then Jesus confirmed it. 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? John 10:34-36 (KJV)Every Spiritual blessing that is in Christ is also in us. Let’s go to Romans 8:29 NLT 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Christ is now seated in Heavenly places, but He was the first born; the first to actually walk as the Word of God incarnate. He was the first but not the only. We are to walk likewise as the Word made flesh. In other words, God has placed His Glory in us and given us the authority to rule in the earth realm as it was in the beginning. We always say that God will not share His Glory, but He has with us. 28 And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren: 30 and whom he foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Romans 8:28-30Please don’t get this twisted, we still can’t boast about what we have done. What God has done is placed the same power which Christ walked in as the Word made flesh within us. This is God’s doing. It was God who created us in His image and likeness, and it was He who made a way to restore us back to our original intended position in the earth.Unfortunately most have not truly stepped up to the place God has ordained for us. We are so busy chasing the things the world deems important that we have missed what God deems important. Please don’t misunderstand me, to desire nice things is not wrong, it is when that desire consumes you and becomes your focus in life that is the problem. Didn’t Jesus tell us in Matthew 6 not to worry about these mundane issues like the world does? If we keep our focus on God and that which he created us to do, then all these wonderful things that worldly people labor for will be added unto us. God has made His stance on the issue quite clear. Psalms 35:27 says God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. Psalms 37:4 states that if you delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart. We must change our mindset. The bible tells us in Romans 12:2 to be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. We have been so conditioned to think that everything we do is about getting ahead in life that we have neglected the purpose of our being. If God has opened a door for you to do a particular job in the work force, it is not about you getting ahead, it is about you shinning His light in the midst of where you are. If you have been blessed to own your own business, it is to be a blessing to other. It is to raise up Godly leaders. Are you starting to get the picture here, everything you do should be centered on the call of God upon your life. He will bless you as you go, but it is not about you obtaining all you can, it is about you pouring out all you can upon those around you.If Jesus is our elder brother and is to be our example of how we are to live and operate in the power and authority of God, then we must study Him very closely and learn how he received and executed His power. I believe the following to be vital information and the key to our destiny:John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.John 5:30 (NIV) By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.It is all about being connected to the Father and the Son and allowing the Holy Spirit to be our guide. As heirs and joint heirs with Christ, we have been gifted with the ability to make a difference in the world, and in those around us. We have been endowed with power, power to heal the broken hearted, power to encourage those around us, power to change the atmosphere from that of chaos to peace. That is not all; we have been given a mandate. Remember this is about going back to the basics, well what could be more basic that the first directive given to mankind.27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Gen 1:27-28 (KJV)God created us in His image and likeness and told us, mankind, to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth. This does not just pertain to physical children, but spiritual children as well. As we grow in the things of God, part of our creative purpose is to impart those things in others. It is not just the Pastors job to share the good news of God’s love for us. We should be sharing that every day in the way we treat others. Jeremiah 31:3 tells us that God loves us with an everlasting love and it is with loving-kindness that He has drawn us to Him. By this same method, we are to draw others to Him.The Father also told us to take dominion over everything that moved upon the earth, therefore, we have dominion over the demons and imps which try to attack us and our family and the Body of Christ as a whole. We have been accepting what the enemy has been bringing to us, but no more! We have the power on dominion over him, not him over us!We need to stand up in the authority given us and stop allowing them to have their way in our lives. It is up to us, God gave us the keys to the Kingdom not the devil. …upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matt 16:18-19 (KJV)Again, because we don’t realize who we are in Him, we have thought we were not equipped to enlarge the Kingdom. If you simply avail yourself to Him, He can and will work the miraculous in and through you. You will see both the physical and spiritual manifestation of the blind receiving their sight, the lame walking, the deaf hearing and the dead being raised to life.Jesus said He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:12-14 (KJV)He didn’t say the pastors or elders who believe, He said “he” meaning anyone who believes shall do greater works than He did. It is time to rise up and take our rightful place as the Sons of God. All of creation is waiting for us.And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
