I've been working on the logistics of this and am closer to getting things set in stone but I do need help from you or someone you may know. Date will be June 20th, June 27th is a backup date. I need sponsors, volunteers, choreagraphers, printing company, pr/adverstising/marketing, stylists, photographers, entertainment, media coverage and more. Whatever help you can lend, I will graciously accept. I am undertaking a lot but the Cancer Society is very dear to my heart. I have lost 7 members of my family to cancer-- prostate, lung, cervical, stomach & colon. There are 2 breast cancer surviors in the family as well. All with the exception of one are grandparents, aunts and uncles. In addition to the many ways I already give back, I want to add this to the list.SPRING/SUMMER CHARITY FASHION SHOWStilettos, Suits & Saving Lives"On the Runway: Where Fashion, Awareness & Education Meet"Charity Fashion is scheduled for Spring/Summer 2009 in Memphis, TN.The American Cancer Society and Domestic Violence are confirmed involved charities. We are working to include St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as the local charity. Dress For Success is another option.DONATIONSWe will be setting up an account at a bank where people can go to make donations to the charity of their choice. Donations of ANY monetary amount will be gladly accepted.In kind donations of wigs, scarves, hats and gas cards will also be accepted.SPONSORSHIPWe are looking for and in need of sponsors. With your help and the help of others, we will have the resources necessary to make this event successful for the city and charities involved. The success of this event depends on the support of invididuals, organizations, corporations, and local businesses. Although Memphis is not the Fashion Mecca of the world, it is a city with much integrity, culture, and class. The event will put Memphis on the fashion map while making more people aware of just what the American Cancer Society is and does.
