Five Characteristics of Goal Setting - Part 1

Five Characteristics of Goal Setting - Part 1If you have ever taken any courses in strategic planning you might be familiar with the concept of S.M.A.R.T. goals. SMART goals define for us what a goal should look like. So now I want to build upon this acronym with my interpretation of what S.M.A.R.T. goals are:Specific: Do you know exactly what you want to accomplish?Action: Write out your goals in detail.Measurable: Are you able to assess your progress?Action: Create a timetable to measure your outcome.Attainable: Is your goal within your reach given your current situation?Action: Are you doing more than you really are qualified to do? Are people, places and things in line to help you fulfill your goal?Realistic: Is your goal relevant towards your purpose in life?Action: What is the purpose of this goal? Remember create realistic goals not dreams.Timely: What is the deadline for completing your goal?Action: Is this the right time? Then set a start and ending date for completion.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Don't forget to join the Women Who Win Network at www.WomenWhoWin.ning.com.
