How to Maintain a Bonded Hair Weave

Women, who want to try a bold color without damaging her natural hair, or even try a shorter style without cutting her hair, can achieve it with a bonded weave. A bonded weave is when tracks of hair are glued to your scalp or weave cap, in rows, alternating your natural hair with tracked pieces.

Here are a few tips on how to maintain a bonded weave:

Use light applications of oil to the surface of your natural hair or weave.

Brushing or combing the hair too forcefully can cause you to pull a track out. Instead, use one hand to hold the track in place as you brush or comb that section of hair with your other hand. Continue section by section.

Stay away from Chlorine. This applies for both sew-in weaves and bonded weaves.

Always cover your hair with a satin scarf at night.

Keep a small bottle of hair glue in your purse just in case a track slip.

Feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think. Until next time...Have a wonderful day!

  • What I have found as the best quick weave is *Grow Protect*
Litely oil your scalp then using Lotta Body Hair Gel gel your hair while it is wet, after it dries add the Grow Protect and allow it to dry Completely, then track the hair....it can be worn for over 3 weeks and brushing and combing the hair will Not cause it come out. To remove: Rinse the hair for 3-4 min and the hair will slide off without causing Any damage to your hair, then shampoo as usual.
