Dear Coach,I want to establish my non profit entity to provide technology training to individuals with disabilities. While this is my passion, I don't have a client base and I know it takes time to receive your status as a 501 c 3. I am not sure of what steps to take. Help!-- Bridgette, MaineGreetings Bridgette,Thank you for writing in Bridgette. Great mission. Have you thought about volunteering with an NPO providing services to individuals with disabilities - filling a service gap they may have? Also, you want to take the time to design your program while you complete IRS Form 1023 to apply for your status as a 501 c 3.After you design your program, you could contact NPOs in your area and secure a collaborative partnership with one of these organizations so that they are your fiscal agent until you receive your status? If you decide to establish a collaborative partnership with an organization, you want to be sure the expectations for both parties are clearly defined.CoachAlive Inc.coach@aliveincorporated.comThe Savane Groupwww.thesavanegroup.com
There are several things you want to take into consideration before completing the application. We provide fundraising and technical writing services to our clients.
We have started an eBook on establishing a non profit, but it is not yet published. We would like to learn more about your program to identify if our services match your needs.
We will send an email message to the email included in your response.
That's an awesome question. Is there a step by step process that should be followed before obtaining a 501c 3. I found out how to obtain my nonprofit status within 5 weeks. Now, I need to come up with a fundraiser strategy and a technical writer to get my nonprofit status. It seems like there are so many steps that I am walking around aimlessly. "Design your programs," did you write a handbook that you would urge people in my situation to read. I have somethings going for me because I have an event planner, photographer, proofreaders, development director, website designers, who have offered their services for free and a social network of creative individuals. I am so excited and patience is definitely a vitual that I have had for three years on this project. Just can't wait to make it a reality. ywndricka@cbpm.org
