Believe it or not corperations capitalize on Sex on an everyday basis. In movies, music/music videos, and even reality television. Sex is whatSells albums, clothing, movies, and many other products.Sex as an occupation is frowned on by many but to be honest it is theWomen who hold the power of capitalization.Every major city has strip clubs, adult stores, and live clubs. Its many womensDesire to graduate from high school and go to a major city to become a dancerTo live out the dreams that they see on music videos and hear in the musicThat thrives in MP3 and on their favorite television networks. For Example there are quite a few black women that have made a way forThemselves solely bases on Sex:Pinky from Oakland California who started and stars in her own Porn MoviesSuperhead who releases “Confession from a Video Vixen”CherokeeLots of Video Women that you see on the big screen often. So the question still stands, Is sex considered a legit business?Yes, whenever you can walk out of a strip club as a dancer with thousandsOf dollars in your bag, Yes.Let's not forget to mention professional escort services and pornographic moviesTo satisfy mens' thirst for seeing other women naked.Sex is a Legit business like it or not
Melissa Love.... Thank you so much for commenting. I totally and completly agree with your acqusation. It is like fast money for women like fast money for is =2 drugs (well speaking in terms of the black community, sadly black men do have that reputation). Everyone I feel has a desire to feel some since of accomplishment; to feel important; to be admired in some way shape or form. The point of the Article was to open conversation about the womans body being capitalized on. Sex has became a legitmate business due to women allowing it to be so....as for religion I think that is something of value and morals which stated by Sheila Caldwell.
Me personally I feel that we live in the USA the only way your going to make money outside of a 9 to 5 is to capitalize on something or someone. To me without those few principals you wont have a successful business. It would just be considered an Idea with a Business Title. Now morals and values are things that everyone should manifest in but there is a big BOLD line between whats right and what will get you money these days.
I think for some women it's fast money just like drugs is fast money to men. Everyone get caught up in the "I want to be Rich and Famous" So women just don't care if they are giving or selling the one thing that God said we suppose to cherish. The world considered it a legit business, but what does the Bible say or can we even bring God or the bible in this.
Andrea, no-one is destined to live a life of poverty, because each of us has the ability to change everything in this life. The law of attraction is the law of creation, and it allows each person to create the life they want. Every person has their own unique circumstances to overcome, but every single person has the opportunity to achieve anything and change everything.
Most women might feel it's legitimate because they didn't have anyone to expose or show them that there are other opportunities. Again it's their chose in the decision to do that. It was legitimate back in the day of theater when they had professionals producing stage plays with burlesque, vaudeville plays and movies. My definition of legitimate: one's principle or standards, something according to law or reasoning. I hope I answered your questions Andrea. All and all, its a good article and you could on and on with great discussions. Great Job!!
Thank you for reading my blog and commenting, this is issue is a serious issue believe it or not that thrives in the communities of black young women. If you have friends that you think would be interested in commenting on this Article can you let them know. I would like to see what other women think as well. I have read a few of your blogs as well.
Interesting article, but you definitely got your point across in the article. I don't necessarily believe that sex is legitimate because it's all about one's mindset and choices.
