Also known as goat nut, pig nut, deer nut, wild hazel, gray box bush, quinine berry, and coffee berry, Jojoba is actually a liquid wax extracted form the jojoba bean. It is very close in nature to human sebum, a natural oil extracted around hair follicles. It has replaced the sperm whale oil and "spermaceti" that was used in cosmetics, creams, mascara, and lipstick for more than a century.
The wax acts on the skin and hair just as it does on the plant: it forms a fine, protective, non-greasy film. The skin becomes silky and soft, the hair shines.
