From time to time I will spotlight the books of Black Authors featured on Black Writers Connect. Today's spotlight book is 'LOVE, IS, THE BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMAN' by Vernon Davis. It is a tribute to all Black Women featuring a collection of Vernon's poetry.
Vernon J. Davis jr. has been writing poetry since the early seventies. He was first inspired by Langston Hughes''s poem "Impasse", which started his journey and adventure into the world of poetry and the spoken word. As a black woman I often feel bombarded by the negativity and divisions between black men and women, so it's refreshing to see a positive piece of literature by a black man in appreciation of black women.
