This past weekend I celebrated by 50th birthday. Wow! Looking back this is a day I thought was a long way away, but here it is, I am 50 and loving it. My kids gave me a surprise birthday blast that was second to none. There were old friends and new friends and family all there to wish be a happy birthday. It was great. You know I was sixteen when I gave birth to my oldest daughter and my life as a mom began and I gotta tell it has been great. I managed somehow to be blessed with the best kids any mom could ask for. They're beautiful successful young black women who are now moms. Everyone that knows them are always asking what did I do as a young mom to have my children turn out so well. All I can say is I put God first and prayed a lot, had my parents in my corner and focused completely on having my children become successful and it worked. I am truly blessed.
