Anyone going back to school to get their college degree? Going back to school while working a full time job and holding down a family can be challenging. However, if you put your mind to it and do not let anything deter you from achieving your goal you can do anything. I speak from experience. I decided to finish my degree in January of 2003 and have been going to school online since then. I will be graduating from Capella University in March with a Masters degree in Human Services. My experience was challenging, but with a strong family support system I was able to pull through. Please feel free to ask me any questions or give your experience as a working adult college student on:http://groups.yahoo.com/ group/workingadultsinschool
Going back to school is a real commitment. What got me through are determination, more career options, and the fact that my job paid for it! Think of education as a weapon (my supervisor does not have a degree). It took me a while to figure out what I wanted. I am getting a Masters in Human Services in March, but I do not intend to work directly in the field. I know that field does not pay well. There quite a few careers I can pursue. I plan to eventually teach, work my own business and quit my 9 to 5 job.
Yes I want to go back to school, but for what i dont no yet. I have been going back and forth with Business, Web design, Internet Mareting, Counseling. I just don't know what i want to go for. I work in human services now and believe me i don't want no degree in that area. I'm looking for something that i would be able to do on the side while working until i get my business up and running so that i can leave that 9 to 5. I have sarted 2 businesses so far, but one of them i have not been doing and is about to start it back up.
I was looking at some classes a Capella and Ashworth University. I just really need some motavation for me to really start something.
