Speaking It Into Being

10744060660?profile=originalEver had a really good idea and kept it to yourself because you wanted it to be a success before telling anyone? Let's think about that for a second. You have a fabulous idea, but instead of sharing it and your excitement, you decide to go it alone. How much longer did it take for your idea to be implemented because of that, I wonder?

Some people feel they will jinx an idea if other people know about it. Others don’t share because they are afraid their ideas are too grand. Speaking into being for me is by no means magical. It simply means that when you start speaking to others about your plan, they are able to help you execute or by putting you in touch with their networks. Sometimes sharing will also help to make you realize that your idea is in fact doable. I'm not saying that you should announce your brand new business idea to everyone you run into. But if you go the whole distance on your own you will have to do and think of things that, had someone else known about your plans, they might have been able to make suggestions that you might not have considered.

This week I want you to try a little experiment. Mention an idea you have to a couple of people you trust. Then sit back and watch things fall into place. You will get suggestions about how to refine your plan. Your friends will put you in touch with others who can help you be successful. You’ll see that speaking it into being is not just for your more eccentric friend – the most practical of us can successfully tap into it as well.
