On Friday, May 9, 2008 at the Victorian Manor in Edison, NJ, Divas On A Budget will be hosting a Scholarship Benefit to help raise money for the Marcia Rowe Scholarship Foundation for Creative Arts. Marcia Rowe, who passed away from breast cancer nearly 2 years ago was an avid lover of music and dance and donated regularly to African American dance and musioc schools in New Jersey. One of her wishes, before she left this earth, was to start a shcolarship fund that would help pay the tution for African American children to join programs related to creative arts to help keep them involved and off the streets. On Frieday May 9th we will see her dream realized with the first annual scholarship benefit created in her honor.
We are asking that everyone contribute to this worthy cause in honor of our children. We will be developing a "Booster" book so that you can advertise your business at an affordable rate while also contributing to the cause. Another way that you can donate is through shopping! How, you ask...Well, if you purchase from any of our advertiser in the Diva Mall (http://site.divashopdirect.com/DivaMall.html) 50% of the commissions earned will go toward the scholarship benefit. We have partnered with advertisers like House of Dereon, Baby Phat, Fashion Bug, E.L.F Cosmetics, and Payless just to name a few.
