I've read this one before... but it is always nice to read a good read again! Good to know you were moved to post this one as well. Do you know who the origianal writter was? I would like to post this on my personal myspace page however, I would like to properly credit the author. If not I could post it as unknown.
You are so right. I have learned the hard way that I cannot be friends with everyone, be there for everyone or please everyone. Most certainly, not everyone has my best interest at heart. It is painful at first when you let people go, but quickly you realize just how detrimental the relationship was. That it may have been very one-sided, but you kept it going because of the goodness of your heart. At some point you have to decide that you are just as important and more so. You cannot allow others to drain you or step on your dreams or continue to take and never give, not so much as a thank you.
