ARE BLACK PEOPLE CLUELESS

Are Black People Clueless

Are black people totally clueless when it comes to technology? Why do some of us only use email to send prayers, stupid jokes, or the occasional social out rage email? Instead of using it promote our causes, and bring us together. Why aren't more African American business owners using the internet for all of its benefits to get the word out not just to the local area, but to the world about what they do. Is all this due to a digital divided, or are we just believing the hype. What do you think?

  • I don't think we're clueless - just grossly miss informed. I recently heard a statistic that states that only 2% of the American public owns computers. Of that 2% how likely is it that small business owners, who are struggling to make ends meet, will invest in additional expenses like internet access, website development... without knowing for certain that their investment will pay for itself in a short period of time? Additionally, given the fact that so many of us (me included) do not take the time to educate anyone outside of our close circle of friends or family members - that malady will continue and perhaps worsen for our current generation of entrepreneurs, business owners and/or business professionals.

We're not clueless. What's important to Sally who is doing well in her business and has the time and resources to explore additional alternatives may spell doom for Sam who works 10 - 12 hours a day 6 - 7 days a week to provide for his family and keep his business a float.

  • I hear ya! So many of us have creative ideas and things that we can help and promote each other on a positive note instead of negative! Praise God! You hit the correct point! God Bless you and Your Endeavors!
