Founded in 1865, Bowie State is the oldest Historically Black College/University in Maryland and one of the ten oldest in the country. It is also a diverse university whose 5,400 students, along with faculty and staff, come from many ethnic backgrounds.

YouthLaunch Scholarship for Outstanding Service

Purpose of Award: To honor Texas students who are leaders in their communities and inspire their peers.

Eligibility: Applicants must be high school students or recent graduates who have attended school in the State of Texas. They must plan to begin their post-secondary education within one year of graduation. Current high school students must have completed at least 50 hours of community service during their final year of high school and at least 400 hours during their entire high school career. Recent graduates must have completed at least 100 hours of community service after graduation.

Deadline: February 28

Award Amount: $3,000.

Number of Awards: 3.

Renewable: No.
