Absoultely Beautiful!!!

Just Because Its' Black...Don't Mean Its Nappy

For so many years, and even until this day black people believe that we have nappy hair. And for years, and years we believed that there was nothing that could be done about your (so called) nappy hair... but to use harsh chemicals on hair that was never meant to experience such treatment. And yet these chemicals are welcomed into our home as we would welcome a visiting favorite relative. For whatever reason it seems as if we don't mind the harm that is being done by these chemicals, and really our reaction should be the opposite...we should mind this. The chemicals are doing more harm than good drying out and damaging our beautiful, delicate and different hair. Our hair grows out in a coil and we are trying to use a straight tooth comb on coils. Have you seen a coil lately, well let me post a picture of one for you; to give you a better idea of what we are dealing with.

This is and exmple of our hair spring1%5B2%5D.jpgI know the picture is large, but I am going to leave it this size so that we, you, me can see what our hair looks like. And also that we will never again make the mistake and call our hair nappy. Another thing that we say about one another is the term every nation standing to itself. And yes I was once ingorant too and laughed at our people whose hair looked like that (I am a shamed): But now that I have a better understanding of what the problem is and was, and that the problem can also be fixed, I know longer laugh when I see this:) Whenever you see our hair in this condition, where the coil is coiled so tight, that means that that persons hair is very, very dry and thin and their hair needs to be hydrated (read the article on Hydrated vs. Moisturized). If you notice something about knowledge you can have all the knowledge in the world, but until you understand that knowledge you will not be able to apply it properly. I made the above statement because I want us to began to understand ourselves and apply the knowledge properly.

Madam C.J. Walker had an idea which helped her to gain knowledge to apply a hot comb to straighten out these coils. And that was a God send to a peoople who seemed to have hopeless hair. But the hot comb had a flaw, and that flaw was that it could not repel moisture. If the weather held up you could go two weeks with no chance of rain :) do you remember those days. But if we only had the knowledge of how to take care of our natural hair then and knew the difference between a coils and naps we would be that much further ahead with black haircare.

We can have versatile hair without all the harsh chemicals that damage our hair and strip it of the much needed hydration it need in order to be healthy and have a shine so bright that it would actually brighten up the darkness night. We have to come to know that these chemicals seeps into our blood stream thru our pores and poison our blood. So lets learn, so that we can grow.
