Well On My Way

016.JPG

This is for all the natural ladies, those thinking about it, and those who are still relaxing!! Just wanted to show off my coily coils so that you can see how my hair is progressing. The picture that you are viewing above I have not applied any gel, hairdress, oil or spritz since my last wash, which was Friday and it is almost Friday again. I wanted to show you how well the My Glory Hair Care Products work. As you can tell my hair is very hydrated to look like this after a week with out applying any extra products. Some women like to apply the products everyday and sport the wet look for their style...and that is ok if that is what they want to do, as for me I do not particularly care for the wet look; if my hair can look like this dry then I do not need to apply any more products until the next time I wash.

017.JPG

After I wash I apply a generous amount of aloe vera gel, hairdress and since my hair is already wet or damp I do not spray with spritz (all the products I use are My Glory Hair Care with exception of the aloe vera gel). The next step I do is to work the products throughout the hair with my hands then I comb thru my hair; my hair is very easy to comb no tangles:). Then after I comb I brush my hair very well to make sure that all of the products are distributed evenly thru the hair, now it is time to decide on what style I want to wear. This weeks style is my hair pulled back with curls in back. To achieve this hair style, I brush my hair back and tied it down (I took a pair of my little grandaughters' used tights and cut out one leg and use it to tie down my hair in the front, along with a wide head band, wave cap, and silk cap) I do this to help to protect my hair and the ends of my hair. The items that are featured below are in the order that I use them. I layer them and this works very well for me and stays in place.

If you have gone natural and feel that it is a chore you can book your Hair Care Party right now and I will come to your home with your permission and help you and your friends/family with the process of applying the products.

The price to host a party is $150.00. As an incentive to you, we encourage our potential customer(s) who sponsor a party to invite 5 to 15 friends or family members to help them offset the party cost. We recommend you that you ask them to donate $10.00 each for the show and maybe have some snacks served. Demos helps to promote togetherness and networking and are a lot of fun.

For hosting a hair care party, you (the host or hostess) will be given a $15.00 savings for their purchase of the full set of the My Glory Hair Care.

018.JPG

The host / hostess can ask each person(s) whom they invited who will be attending the hair party to visit this website to pay for themselves and/or if they are bringing a guest the guest can be directed here to pay also.

Optional:

The host/hostess can collect all monies due and make a group payment if all parties involved are in agreement.

The Transitions Of Black Hair

Absoultely Beautiful!!!

Just Because Its' Black...Don't Mean Its Nappy

For so many years, and even until this day black people believe that we have nappy hair. And for years, and years we believed that there was nothing that could be done about your (so called) nappy hair... but to use harsh chemicals on hair that was never meant to experience such treatment. And yet these chemicals are welcomed into our home as we would welcome a visiting favorite relative. For whatever reason it seems as if we don't mind the harm that is being done by these chemicals, and really our reaction should be the opposite...we should mind this. The chemicals are doing more harm than good drying out and damaging our beautiful, delicate and different hair. Our hair grows out in a coil and we are trying to use a straight tooth comb on coils. Have you seen a coil lately, well let me post a picture of one for you; to give you a better idea of what we are dealing with.

This is and exmple of our hair spring1%5B2%5D.jpgI know the picture is large, but I am going to leave it this size so that we, you, me can see what our hair looks like. And also that we will never again make the mistake and call our hair nappy. Another thing that we say about one another is the term every nation standing to itself. And yes I was once ingorant too and laughed at our people whose hair looked like that (I am a shamed): But now that I have a better understanding of what the problem is and was, and that the problem can also be fixed, I know longer laugh when I see this:) Whenever you see our hair in this condition, where the coil is coiled so tight, that means that that persons hair is very, very dry and thin and their hair needs to be hydrated (read the article on Hydrated vs. Moisturized). If you notice something about knowledge you can have all the knowledge in the world, but until you understand that knowledge you will not be able to apply it properly. I made the above statement because I want us to began to understand ourselves and apply the knowledge properly.

Madam C.J. Walker had an idea which helped her to gain knowledge to apply a hot comb to straighten out these coils. And that was a God send to a peoople who seemed to have hopeless hair. But the hot comb had a flaw, and that flaw was that it could not repel moisture. If the weather held up you could go two weeks with no chance of rain :) do you remember those days. But if we only had the knowledge of how to take care of our natural hair then and knew the difference between a coils and naps we would be that much further ahead with black haircare.

We can have versatile hair without all the harsh chemicals that damage our hair and strip it of the much needed hydration it need in order to be healthy and have a shine so bright that it would actually brighten up the darkness night. We have to come to know that these chemicals seeps into our blood stream thru our pores and poison our blood. So lets learn, so that we can grow.

My Hair Moisturizing Video

Hi everyone the above video is to show the progress that my hair has made since I last showed it to you. I have used nothing on my hair but my products since the big cut, and as you can see my products are doing well. They work very well and give me the results I wish to achieve. Natural hair is very beautiful once you know how to take care of it. As you can see my hair does not have the little balls of hair at the end...if you are seeing this you need to change your products, because your hair is not getting the moisture it needs. And another thing that you should not see is the fuzzy look...you should see either curls or waves not a mixture of fuzz, curls and waves. And this can be caused by the products you may be using, not covering properly at night before bed, using just water to wet the hair and grease. If you are using just water on your natural hair...this is a no no, just water alone will dry your ends (I will post my hair spritzer soon, if you would like to order please send an email to pictureperfecthealth@gmail.com). I mentioned in the video Aloe Vera Gel to put on your hair, aloe vera gel will moisturized your hair almost instantly (make sure to use the one without alcohol and coloring make sure that it is pure). The other product that I use along with the aloe vera gel is the optimum 3 in 1 oil (in the yellow bottle this is a very good products) this works very well in keeping the hair moisturized. Other hair gels makes the hair hard and dry and easy to break. Remember love your hair, and it will love you back. If you have any questions or would like to leave a comment, please feel free to do so.

Is Your Hair Style Causing You To Lose Your HAIR?

Traction Alopecia, a hair loss condition caused by constant pulling or tension over a long period generally occurs in persons who wears tight braids, especially "cornrows" that lead to high tension, pulling and breakage of hair. This condition can lead to temporary or permanent hair loss due to damage to the hair follicles. This condition is most common in African-American women and men who braid their hair too tightly, it is reversible if diagnosed early on and the abuse stops. In Traction Alopecia, hair loss is often in the frontal and temporal regions, when the hair is constantly pulled back in a ponytail, bun or cornrows. Although, it can also appear where ever the hair is pulled to tightly; for example in the areas were plaits or cornrows are tight. Traction Alopecia can also occur due to over processing the hair with dyes and relaxers, so it’s imperative to follow instructions closely and to do a strand test to make sure the hair is strong enough to withstand these types of treatments. The obvious way to stop traction and traumatic alopecia is by wearing styles that aren’t too tight and be sure to switch up your hair style. Do not be afraid to stop your braider if they are pulling the hair too tightly and again, be mindful of the chemicals you are having applied or are applying to your hair. Alopecia is detecting it early. Hair styles that put unnecessary strain on the hair root must be changed for "looser, gentler hair style. Unfortunately, no medical treatment is available to reverse late-stage traction alopecia. Hair grafts have been identified as the only practical solution, but this can be very expensive and in some cases painful. For more information on growing Black Hair; check out www.fabulousblackwoman.com o check out my book

Are you really conditioning your hair

WWW.FABULOUSBLACKWOMAN.COMMany people believe that just because they put a conditioner in their hair, they are conditioning it...This is FALSE. Many conditioners are used for the "slippage" factor and the ONLY good they do is make it a bit easier to manage the tangles or napps in my case. Conditioners SHOULD be used to strengthen the hair. When purchasing a conditioner, one should make sure the label indicates it is indeed a deep conditioner and/or should be left on for up to 15 minutes and heat will give further benefits...If none of these are on the label, you are probably using an instant conditioner which like I said..does NOT condition. It takes approximately 15 minutes for the outside layer of the hair to expand, heat (using a plastic cap with or without a hair dryer or warmed conditioner) may cause it to expand quicker. Once the hair expands, the beneficial ingredients such as protein and/or oils can be deposited, which eventually leads to stonger, longer and healther strands.

Come back soon when I talk about the different kinds of conditioners and their different levels of benefits
