Don't Forget the Achievers

In recent weeks we have seen the stories of the deadly confrontations between young Black men and law enforcement all over this country.  And in Baltimore we saw the anger and frustration of some of its residence manifest itself in the destruction of their own neighborhood.  I have heard some commentators opine that these actions are the result of institutional failures of government and business to address the systemic problems Blacks, and in particular, young Black males, face everyday in their communities.

There is no doubt that the concerns are real and they have to be addressed, but it is also true that sometimes a thug is just a thug.  You can try to deflect responsibility, but the reality is that some people make the conscious decision to be unlawful.  So when some try to give these thugs a pass, what they do is divert attention from those young Black people who have chosen to do it the right way.

This is graduation season, and we have more Black men and women graduating from college than at any other time in history.  They have chosen to be more.  And it is hoped that them being more will allow of us all to be more.  We need to congratulate these students who didn’t take the easy way out.  Those who put in the effort to obtain an education.  And while they may not quite understand the importance of their achievement today, it is certain that their educational achievement will have a positive impact on their communities.

So if you see someone who is graduating college, congratulate them for persevering.  And thank them for choosing to affect change in a positive and constructive manner.

Rich Weaves

Being a business owner and helping others reach their goals is one of the most enjoyable feelings to have. Everyday I put 110% into our company and the individuals who are affiliated with us. It wasn't to long ago that I was just like a lot of people out in the world who wanted change and a better life. I had dreams and aspirations of becoming a successful business man and some day building an EMPIRE in the Hair Industry. I had been working in the hair industry for about 5 years now but wasn't seeing and getting the results that I wanted. I questioned my work ethic and all the swirling questions we have when it comes to becoming successful. I wanted to have success that moment, not understanding that it takes time to get where we need to be in life. You have to have a plan. In my mind I knew what I wanted which was to own my own hair company but was scared to step out on FAITH in fear of FAILURE. You see this is where allot of us stop dreaming, lose motivation, and most importantly lose our FAITH. When it comes to your FAITH, Im here to tell you that no matter what it is that you want in life never give up on it. FAITH is powerful and can win the will of many ways, YOU just have to guide the ship! Helping others is the fuel to my FAITH there is no more gratifying feeling to help another man/women see there potential and watch them go GET IT.....no matter if its a business, relationship, family, etc. Doors have opened for me that I have never imagine would be open, and I am blessed to surrounded by individuals who embrace the opportunity our company has placed before them. I understand that we all fear what we don't know or understand but I can say that Rich Weaves can be the corner stone to the foundation of anyone who wants to achieve there goals in the Hair Industry. Its ok to be afraid of FAILURE, but remember to have FAITH it will win every time. Take a step out on it and watch how GOD works and puts you in position for success.......We DID!!! I hope this small blog helps to be an inspiration to everyone who reads this, we are here to help wherever you need. We stand committed to YOU and your vision so lets set this INDUSTRY ON FIRE!!!!! ONE LOVE!!!!!!
