Why is it So Quiet in Here??

Well, it is! C'mon everybody, we can do better than this. I know it's summer time and you're probably hot wherever you are (although, not hotter than me. I'm in Phoenix, Arizona!), but business is still going as usual. Ms.LaShanda Henry created BBWO as a forum for us to SUPPORT each other, HELP each other, and USE each other...(for services, products, etc.) and we're not using it to it's fullest potential. People post blogs and thoughts all day but NO ONE comments! And how many BBWO friends do you have?

So I'm just commenting on how quiet it has been lately. I know everyone is busy with LIFE but with the ability to comment on Twitter or Facebook it should make it a little easier to be more active. I've decided to make it a goal of mine to comment on at least one blog daily (baby steps), or to be-friend AND communicate with a few people a week. Make it a goal of yours! If you're a blog writer then you know how helpful it is to hear what people think. So, let's help each other, and start COMMENTING.

Let's start now: What is your opinion? What business are you in? How has BBWO helped you in your business? Have you made any goals for your business or BBWO membership?

Ok enough of the tangent...

Stay motivated and keep moving towards prosperity!

See you at the top,

  • Great post. Well being a ning site owner myself I find that it's common place. There are some sites that have a lot of engagement and yet for the most part individuals are hitting the sites with advertisement and leaving. It shows up on my site and we are a network which started out as an association and posting just for the sake of promotions was not allowed and stated when they requested membership. Blogging was left for our Executive Contributors. Women still went against this and when confronted simply left. There were a few that thanked me for the heads up and left within 2 - 4 weeks.

So what it boils down to is one's motive for joining the network. Although Lashanda offers the opportunity to engage that is not the motive or goal of some.

Also I find that some are quiet and may be shy. They are benefiting from the resources and posts but hesitate to engage. I know this because it was stressed on my site.

Lastly yes women are spreading themselves too thin. They sign up for every site they see and couldn't possibly engage on all of them.

    Again, great post.

    To your empowering success!

  • Thank you Beverly. I'm glad someone agrees. I completely agree with you on how we can sometimes spread ourselves too thin with social networking, but if we do what you do and check in here and there, we should be fine.
  • Thank you for writing this Tamara.  I have tried to write blog posts to get others engaged in some discussion--if to say nothing more than "thank you" for your information or "I didn't know that" or whatever!

I am here sporadically.  I used to come often a couple of years ago---but became discouraged because no one was engaging.  You are right.  People stop by and post their blog or post a discussion and them leave.  There is no real dialogue going on that I can see.

I have made it a point to stop in lately and skim through the posts to see what interests me and what I might want to comment on.  Your post caught my attention.

I think the other thing is some women just want to say their connected to LaShandra by being a part of the site but beyond that---not much happening.

It may also be that people are spreading themselves too thin and trying to be EVERYWHERE.  I admit I have been guilty of that---but aging does make you wiser to some degree :)

Hopfully, others will read what you've written, along with my response and start some dialogue.
