I have been a believer of the power of positive thinking and living.No we cannot just participate in positive thinking and believe thatis the solution and everything will manifest magically, however, thiscoupled with other life skill sets will greatly enhace the results youreceive from any endeavor to live your best empowered life, anextraordinary life.I'm sharing an article that provides proof of the power ofpositive thinking.Scientists have come up with proof of the power of positive thinking.They have found people who have a sunny, optimistic outlook on growing older live longer than those who are constantly worrying.Positive self-perceptions can prolong life expectancyYale University researchersThe research suggests that people who feel bad about getting old accelerate the ageing process.In contrast a positive attitude will add more years to your life than not smoking or taking regular exercise.A team of American psychologists found that people who were positive about ageing lived an average of 7.5 years longer than those who regretted the passing years.They believe that negative thoughts about the ageing process have a direct impact on the will to live.Better than low blood pressureThe researchers, led by Dr Becca Levy, from Yale University, in Connecticut, said the effect of a positive attitude towards ageing was greater than physiological measures such as low blood pressure and cholesterol - each of which is thought to add a maximum of four years to life.The effect was even more pronounced than factors such as keeping weight down, not smoking and taking exercise - each thought to add between one and three years to life.The researchers studied information from 660 volunteers aged fifty plus.Death rates among the participants were compared with their responses to a survey conducted 23 years earlier.The volunteers were asked if they agreed or disagreed to statements such as "as you get older, you are less useful".Dr Levy's team believe the sheer will to live partly explains the link between positive thinking and longevity. However, they don't think it is the only reason.StressThey believe another factor is the effect of stress on the heart.Previous research has shown that the hearts and arteries of elderly people exposed to negative ageing stereotypes do not respond well to stress.People could have negative thoughts about aging picked up from society without even being aware of them, said the researchers."Our study carries two messages," they wrote."The discouraging one is that negative self-perceptions can diminish life expectancy."The encouraging one is that positive self-perceptions can prolong life expectancy."The researchers warn that a poor attitude towards the elderly in Western societies may exacerbate the problems. What one thing do successful entrepreneurial women practice?You've heard the quote that successful people do what unsuccessful aren't willing to do.Although their are many habits that successful women, people for that matter there is one thing that if continued will separate the doers from the thinkers.That one thing is self improvement.Sometimes, when all our doubts, fears and insecurities wrap ourselves up, we tend tp come up with the idea of I wish I was somebody else.More often than not, we think and believe that someone or rather, most people are better than us.- when in reality, the fact is, most people are more scared than us.You may have observed women at work, church, in department stores etc. You think to yourself, she looks so perfectly calm and confident.But if you could read thru her mind, you would see a bunch of clouds of thoughts and you might just be amazed that she's thinking are people looking at what I have on?... Why don't guys find me attractive? Or I don't like my nose, I wish it were like.... I wish I was as intelligent as my sister.The bible also speaks of loving others as you love yourself.How many people have found this hard to do only because they don't truly love themselves. The thing to remember is that you cannot give what you don't have.Allow people to see that you yourself are a representation and a product of self improvement before telling other people some ways on how to improve themselves.In my eBook The Dynamic Power of Focus I have a section that refers to "If only" and it is an important segment because all too often women spend their time focusing on the "If onlies" or excuses for why they can't accomplish given tasks and goals. Stop thinking of yourselves as second-rate beings.Accepting your true self is the first step to self improvement. Stop comparing yourselves to others. Only compare yourself to yourself. How can you improve your life, relationships, health, personal image. etc.Everyone has challenges and insecurities. You are a unique, one of a kind woman. There is an audience waiting to hear the message that only you can deliver to them.Don't cheat them and certainly don't cheat yourself by continuing down the road of self defeat. I am not speaking of being arrogant or running around showing everyonehow great your are in a vain manner.For maximized empowerment and a life of substance you must invest in avenues to improve yourself.Self improvement is the virtue of acceptance and contentment. If you want to finally be free to have a life full of joy, peace and contentment, start and continue a habit of self improvement. Enrollin courses, search the internet, participate in Teleseminars. You should also align yourself with a mentor,trainer and/or coach for an added accountability measure.If you haven't made the progress that you desire to after 2 years, 5 years and more, you must do what successful people do.....seek out the support and resources to allow them to have leverage and accelerate their personal/spiritual/business growth.Now I invite you to take advantage of this FREE resource .
