Research Project: Why can't woment get along?For the whole of my adult life I have had the pleasure of working in environments filled with smart, strong, brilliant and amazing women. These situations have ranged from the mostly female dominated creative & artistic beauty business to tightly ran, male dominate & linear major corporations.As different as these scenarios have been, the one consistent thing that has inevitably shown up has been the catty, back-stabbing, "tear-her-down" negativity that destroys the Spirit of a woman and keeps us all from TRULY succeeding.I am currently working on a project that designed to assist women in realizing their Truth and living their lives in such a way that our gifts and talents bring about positive change in the world.But before we can get to the flowers, we have to deal with the fertilizer.The question I'm posing to all of you is: Why can't women get along?Please share your thoughts and ideas on this topic.Thanks,Frantonia

My Stimulus Plan

Over the past month I have been hearing more and more of Obama’s stimulus plan. I don’t doubt that this plan is a good idea, but I think we have some thinking to do on how we as American’s can really stimulate the economy with the money we are to receive. I received an email yesterday, it was kind of funny, but it was very true. Please read it below:“This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format:"Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment?"A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers."Q. Where will the government get this money?"A. From taxpayers."Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?"A. Only a smidgen."Q. What is the purpose of this payment?"A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy."Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?"A. Shut up."Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.If you spend it on gasoline it will go to the Middle East.If you purchase a computer it will go to India.If you purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala (unless you buy organic).If you buy a car it will go to Japan.If you purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan.And none of it will help the American economy.We need to keep that money here in America. You can keep the money in America by spending it at yard sales, going to a baseball game, or spend it on prostitutes, beer (domestic ONLY), or tattoos, since those are the only businesses still in the US.****************************************************************************Now I always like a funny email, but this email actually got me to thinking (more than usual). What this email is saying is very true. Yes we are going into stores in America and supporting the stores, but are we really uplifting America?Two weeks ago, I told myself that I am going to purchase only fabric made in America. I went out to Joann Fabrics started shopping and found that it was harder than you think to purchase fabric that was “Made in America”. 9 out of 10 fabrics I picked up were from China. It was very discouraging to see that and it is now making me want to find some American fabric.I recently read a blog from the company I purchase shopping bags and wraps from and found that they were having the same issues I was in finding some good American made products to sell. I am glad I am not the only one having this issue, but from what I read, these American products are far and few between. We as a nation have to start reaching out and buying American.So this is my stimulus plan. I am going to buy American whenever I can. Wake up folks. It is so easy totalk about love when it is a noun, the subject of a sentence, but God shows loveas a verb. He acts upon what He says. It is so strange to accept the fact thatGod could love us. We are so prone to mistakes.We are so given to mischievous behavior. Pied Pipers of this world often lead usoff into sin. Yet in spite of all of that, God loves us and loves us with aneverlasting love. He has declared that nothing can or will separate us from thelove He has for us. I must admit I shutter every time I think about so great alove.He demonstrates that love for us in and through His son, Jesus Christ. Christ soloved us that he came to give us eternal life. He did not come in riches. He didnot come to a palace. He did not come to the acceptable of society.On the contrary, he associated with sinners, divested himself of his eternalglory, and came to outcast and rejects. He demonstrated that the Omnipotent Godloves the lost, the lonely, and the left out. He loves us so much as to come towhere ever we can be found. He will stop by a pool and teach us to walk. IT'S ALL ABOUT PEOPLE..

It's All About People"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoeverbelieveth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16As I meditate on the true significance of these words, I can't help but noticethat everything God has done throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation,is about people. God has always been motivated by the desire to have a family.This is clearly demonstrated in this familiar scripture, which reveals that Godsent His Son, Jesus, into the earth to die (and rise again) because of His lovefor 'the world.'The phrase 'the world' in scripture refers to all the human beings who had beenand will be born into this earth. It refers to all who, without receiving Jesus,would spend eternity in hell, a place God never intended for them to go. Godcreated hell for Satan and his angels, while earth and heaven were created forhis family called mankind. Jesus himself stated that he was sent to 'seek andsave the lost' (Luke 19:10).Of course, we know that Jesus accomplished his mission, and now there arebillions who, since his resurrection, have received Jesus as Savior, become apart of God's family, which results in heaven being their home. So where doesthat leave us today? Well, besides the obvious need for us to receive salvation(if we have not already) and to share Jesus with as many as we can, we can learnfrom God's unwavering focus on people.God loves people and he values them above all else. In scripture, we find thatGod considers people, his inheritance (see Ephesians 1:18), and he considerspeople his wealth. He does not place natural riches, things that the worldconsiders valuable, or anything else above people.We, as Christians should do the same.This month, do not focus on what you do or do not have, what has or has nothappened in your career, or on whether or not you have even received the matethat you asked of God. Be thankful for those people to whom God has placedaround you. Be thankful for family, friends, colleagues, fellow church members,and ministers of the gospel that have blessed your life.Focus on being a blessing to those who have been such a blessing to you.Furthermore, find a way to be a blessing to those people that you don't know butare still so special to God, particularly those who are with needs. Remember,that it's all about people. God sent his Son for them. You are one of them thathe so loves. And you are one of his instruments to show them how much he lovesthem too.

Keep the Faith!Evidence is defined as "something that indicates" or "an outward sign." In acourt of law, the evidence you present to a judge can mean the differencebetween prison and freedom, or in some cases, life and death. In the kingdom ofGod, the evidence you present to your heavenly Father will determine whether ornot you receive from Him the things you desire. When it comes to proving to Godthat you are ready to receive all that He has predestined for you, faith is themost compelling evidence you can present to Him.The term faith is sometimes used as if it means "belief" or "hope." But faith isreally much more than either of these words suggest. According to Hebrews 11:1,"...faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things notseen." In other words, faith is knowing that the things you hope for areavailable to you, even when you don't see any outward signs that they exist.Believers often sincerely "hope" that God will help them-- they even pray forhours-- but nothing happens without faith. If you don't understand faith, youwon't know how to operate in God's system.Imagine that you need money to pay your car note. You've tried several options,but they've all failed. Now you're desperate and you need God to "work amiracle" on your behalf. What are your options? You could cry, feel sorry foryourself and say, "I'm a good person. Why doesn't God just help me?" If you takethis approach, God will see you crying and sympathize with you, but His Wordsays,"Without faith it is impossible to please him..." (Hebrews 11:6), so youremotional expression is unlikely to change anything.To get God to act on your behalf, you could choose to pray a traditional"religious" prayer: "Lord, You work in mysterious ways. Please stop by my house,God. Please! Please, Father. Please don't pass me by...." This is the way manypeople pray, but this type of prayer doesn't express faith. It has the form of aprayer, but it lacks the power to produce results. James 1:6 (AMP) says that wemust ask in faith without wavering or doubting.As a Believer, you have the right to receive answers to every one of yourprayers. But the key to getting answers is faith. Whenever you pray or call uponGod to help you, you must present evidence of your faith. For example, if youwant God to show you how to get your car note paid, you have to petition Himcorrectly: "Father, your Word says that You will supply all of my needsaccording to Your riches in heaven. I ask you, Father, to show me how to pay mycar note. I surrender this problem to you, and I know that it is alreadyresolved. I thank You, Father, for answering my prayer." A faith-filled prayerthat is firmly rooted in God's Word will get answers!Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, so build your faith by spending timereading and studying the Word. God's Word (His book of promises) is the evidenceyou must present to receive the answers you need. His Word is your confession.It is the thing you say to Him in prayer, thereby increasing your faith. Pick upyour Bible and find scriptures to match the things you're petitioning God for.Using His Word assures your response.When you know what the Word says about the things you are entitled to receive,you can pray for those things and receive the answers you need. You never haveto beg, plead or bargain with God to have Him answer your prayers. He is movedby your faith in His Word. Show God your faith, and He will show you His love bypouring out His blessings in your life and fulfilling all of the promises Hemade in His Word.

Faith That Goes the Distance"The just shall live by faith" Romans 1:17God, throughout the scriptures spoke through anointed men to convey the message,that those whom have been justified must live by faith. It is paramount that webecome strong in faith, because we are living in days which will test the veryfabric of our belief system.In Hebrews 11:6 we find written these words, "But without faith it is impossibleto please him." If you conduct an extensive word study on the word "please"you'll discover to please someone you'll have to be in agreement with them. Solet's paraphrase that verse. But without faith it is impossible to line yourlife up in agreement with God. Therefore, in order to tap into the richresources God has for every believer, your life must be in agreement withHis. The success of your Christian walk and relationship with God is predicatedby the level of your faith. Moreover, faith is the foundation of your Christianexperience.The word "faith" is properly defined by the Greek word pistis. Pistis is definedas firm persuasion, or to persuade, a conviction based upon hearing. It impliesknowledge of, assent to, and confidence in divine truths, and revelations of theWord of God. The scripture proclaim "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by theword of God." Romans 10:17. The problem is most people take the word "hearing"literality. However, it's not speaking of hearing with your physical ears, buthearing within your spirit being.The only way the word is going to produce faith in the life of a believer; theword must become a living rehema within the soul of man, thus producing a lifechanging experience. Simply, the engrafted word becomes alive and real in theheart of the hearer, and he or she will begin to act according to the Word ofGod applying biblical principles to their daily life. This transformation oflife will also change the quality of their life. The level of your faith iscontingent upon the amount of the living word engrafted within your inner man.So how does one faith grow? I quoted earlier from Romans 10:17, "Faith cometh byhearing and hearing by the word of God." Looking at the seed principle mostlyeverything is the product of a seed. Man, animals, plants and even fruit has itsorigin from a seed. Jesus said "the sower sows the word." Mark 4:14. In Luke8:11 Jesus told us that, "the seed is the Word of God." When a pastor or teacherministers the word, he or she is sowing seed. The seed of the word is trying topenetrate the soul of man. Once the (word) breaches the soul it will either givebirth to a living word (rhema), or it will be aborted.According to Luke 8:12-14 Jesus said, "that being an indifferent hearer, thecares of this world, deceitfulness of riches, and being not rooted in Christ"would cause the seed of the word to become aborted. However, if the seed of theword is birthed within the soul a living word (rhema) is born. This living wordwill influence the spirit of man prompting a visible outward illustration ofChrist and the faith walk. The just shall live by his faith.The Bible speaks of various levels of faith ranging from a measure to the Godkind of faith. The stronger you are in faith will determine how victorious youwill be in your spiritual life. Is your faith strong enough to go the distance?

How I got the Business Bug . . . .

Greetings everyone!In 1995, I was an executive assistant for the marketing department of the Mississippi Credit Union System. The company hosted an annual convention for board members and employees of various credit unions in Mississippi. That year the premiere guest speaker was Willie Jolley, phenomenal speaker and member of Les Brown's dream team. The marketing department was responsible for arranging, transporting and adhering to the schedule of the speakers. The guest speakers each presented or held seminars through out the convention and a strict schedule had to be maintained.The speaker I was responsible to primary assist was Willie Jolley. The convention was held in Biloxi, MS at the most beautiful time of year for the Mississippi gulf coast. I had no idea what I was in for. I assumed it would be the same as other speakers I had assisted where they were demanding and distant. That was not true of Mr. Jolley. He personally got to know everyone who assisted him and said thank you to everyone who kept his schedule tight and together.I remember when I first met him he asked, "What is your position in the company?" I told him and his reply, "Lisa, I can show you how to be the CEO of this company or have your own buisness. It's up to you."He talked every minute to any assistant around about exploring your possibilities. The last day of the convention we had people asking us about buying more of Mr. Jolley's books and tapes. We were responsible for his display set-up and also manging the sales of his merchandise as he signed his books for believers and fans. I told them we had sold out of his book, however we could take their orders and Mr. Jolley's home office would mail them their signed copy. There were six of us who assisted Mr. Jolley altogether. Just as Mr. Jolley was heading for the airport, he thanked us and pulled out every book he had ever written and tape he had produced and each was personally signed by Willie Jolley. We were all stunned. The books were hard back and exactly what the cash paying convention members were asking for.Today, four out of six assistants have their own businesses.
