Mobile blogs, or"moblogs," take this to the extreme by allowing users to post things literally as they happen. This new wave ofmoblogs and mobloggers keep web surfers up to date with good and bad events of importance as they occurall over the world, helping to make international communication faster and more accurate.Many people feel that the limitations of blogging have a lot to do with geography. After all, there is only socurrent that a blog can be when you need to run home and boot up in order to update it. However, mobileblogging marks the beginning of an thrilling new era when web-based communication can happenspontaneously from any location. Moblogging devices mean that there is almost nowhere on the planet thatremains off-limits for bloggers.Mobile blogging is still in its infancy because the technology that makes it possible has only recently hitthe global market. Who are You and Why Should the Media Care?

Who cares if you wrote a book or started a new business that you’re really excited about? Is your enthusiasm going to pay your bills and earn you the kind of status you’ve been working hard to achieve? Is that gung-ho attitude going to allow you to break “even” on the money you’ve already invested in your project?While having a positive attitude is important to pursuing your goals, you’re going to need some help along the way. Let’s be realistic. Your book (business) may do OK by word of mouth and press releases but just think of what could happen with something called “mega publicity.”No, I’m not talking about one radio or newspaper interview in your community. I’m referring to your ability to reach the masses. How do you do that? You could try calling Oprah and if she calls you back–the rest is history. Of course, for the vast majority of us, Harpo will never call but that shouldn’t stop you from putting a plan of action together that could, very well, get Oprah’s attention in the future.Build a media plan complete with a list of mainstream radio and television stations as well as newspapers. Before you decide to give anybody your hard-earned money for media services, you need to do some homework.You need to ask yourself AND the “expert” what makes them qualified to teach you about getting media exposure and the other little tricks of the trade when it comes to publicity. Is it because they send out the most emails boasting about all they can do to help you or have you talked to real people who can give you glowing testimonials about their work?Did they have a real job in media where they were in a decision-making position to determine who would be a good candidate for an interview?Do they have resourceful contacts? By that I mean, do they have actual names of contacts or are they referring you to a general number---which we can all get in a phone book.Do they push clients through a “system” without giving them much individualized attention?Is bigger really better?Can they give you FULL SERVICE or LIP SERVICE?The truth of the matter is, for every qualified expert, there are at least a dozen wannabes. As someone who spent more than 25 years in the radio and television news business, I had to decide daily who would make a good interview candidate. I learned a lot through my research and truly enjoyed writing the blog posts. I certainly hoped many of you benefited from the information.What are autoresponders? Before I got into business and began researching various low cost and free ways of marketing my business. Autoresponders are email programs that can send an automated response. Presently, there are autoresponders that are more sophisticated that than and are able to send a series of composed messages on a pre-determined schedule. I’m sure many of you have browsed the web and signed up for those e-courses that send you information via e-mail every week on the topic you chose. It’s a easy way for a business owner to keep in touch with his/her clients via email without spending loads of time at the computer. These programs help business owners work smarter.How can one benefit from autoresponders? Let’s say that you own a travel business and you want to give your clients tips for travel. Instead of listing them on your website, which they may or may not visit, send them a tip a week or every two weeks. Every time they get your tips via email they think about travel and will most likely visit your site where you will have more content for them to read. The same thing can work with self-esteem tips, business tips, weight loss tips, etc. There are so many subjects related to your business that you can send to your clients. In addition, if your tips are good, then your clients will forward them to people they know and they will visit your website.Where do I get an autoresponder? There happens to be a free autoresponder available for your use. Check out this website at www.drquek.com. You will have to upload and install the program yourself. It's not every day that IBN members get the kind of national media attention they deserve, so when it happens, I'm all over it! This past Tuesday, I was all over longtime IBN member Dawn Fitch and her company Pooka Pure and Simple as they were featured on the CBS Evening News.

As you can see, Dawn was interviewed by CBS National Correspondent Byron Pitts about the growth of her company from $20,000 in annual revenues 7 years ago to nearly a half a million dollars in 2007.Long before CBS took note, I knew of the great things Dawn and the other "Pookalitas" were doing. Dawn first joined IBN in 2005 and since then, her business has boomed. Dawn has been my guest on Indie Business Radio where she discussed the growth of her company and the story behind her book, "Moving Through Opened Doors."So Much Business, So Little MoneyWhile Dawn's news is exciting and well deserved, the news for Black American woman entrepreneurs is not as good. According to the segment, while Black American women are launching businesses at twice the speed of the national average, generating about $29 billion in sales nationwide, they are grossing an average of $38,000 a year while their counterparts are grossing an average of about $107,000 a year.As a Black American female entrepreneur, these statistics are sobering and disturbing. Having your own business requires consistent review. Ideas are continuously flowing and ways to improve are being flushed through your mind. Taking it up to the next level is the main goal - not wanting to miss out on being able to provide the services that your competitors are able to deliver. In fact, you want your business to be even better - stand out - completely unique in delivering services that others really need and you can give it to them.Well, I have a list of questions that I often ask myself• How am I doing?• What can I do to improve?• Am I offering my clients an invaluable service?• What about my internal clients? Are they feeling appreciated?• Are my external clients referring me to others?• How effective is my networking?• Am I investing enough time into my business?I can continue on with the questions. However, most important in keeping your business report, be sure to take an honest look at yourself. Your well being - your physical, emotional/mental health are vital in doing business. Your purpose in doing business is not only to be your own boss, be in control but to also enjoy life on your terms. You want to live a prosperous life - well, you also need to live a healthy life. Be sure to take care of the business of your own health.• Stay hydrated (drink water, 100% fruit juices)• Make time to get pampered (spa, massage, body rub/scrub)• Exercise (enjoy a yoga class)• Meditate (quiet time to center yourself)• Make healthy eating choices (salad, fruits, vegetables, vitamins, etc.)• Visit your doctor and follow the standard health screenings• Travel (plan a vacation - go see other places)• Spend quality time with your family• Donate your time, clothes, other items or money to a worthy cause• Go out for a night on the town (concert, dinner, Broadway show, museum)• Make time for a social gathering (group of folks who share common interests, friends)• Play golf, tennis, chess, dominos, basketball, softball, base ball, etc.• Go to a book store pick up that book you've been meaning to read• Relax and begin to read your book - even just a chapter or two - then be sure to make some time to continue reading it again - even if you have to take it to the mandatory room (the place we all have to sit for a while).You are in business with the goal of enjoying life. I know it's hard to step away especially when you are constantly working on something new or something that requires your attention, or just having to put that time in to see the business grow. It will grow but you will be surprised at the growth you can achieve by taking care of yourself. It builds your confidence - you will feel like a billion bucks, and most of all your business will improve.

What is this thing that my Spirit knows?This place during the day that my mind does oft go.This place of abundance that fills my space,And my prayers are for God's favor and, of course, His grace.There are longings and desires that wail deep insideAnd I pray for God's answers and these issues to subside.My husband, my ministry, my purpose, my life;This dream that's truly bigger than I.Yet, I'm cautious to ask the Lord why.Why not now, Lord? Why hasn't he come?And if not why, then when?When will this ministry begin?And then silently I search my own heart,I delve deeply into my most sacred part.This search is for truth and I seek 'til I find.Lord, what is this wait for?
