I ran across this article this week and thought I'd share. It's called:
This article was great motivation to read how these business owners (although young when they started) started and grew their businesses to successful multi-million dollar businesses because of an IDEA. I think we sometimes forget that that's all it takes. An IDEA. If you have an IDEA that you think would make you successful, then run with it! See what happens with it. The worse thing that could happen is that you have to tweak it here and there so you can make your millions.
After reading the article, answer these questions...What ideas have you been thinking about for YEARS but just haven't put into fruition?
What's holding you back? What are your fears?
What would happen if you DON'T put this idea into action? How much would you beat yourself up if someone else did it, just like you wanted to?
How do you get started? Well, I have an answer for that! Sometimes we need an objective person to bounce ideas off of and answer questions we don't know the answers to. I can help you. Contact me today!
GET UP and stop sitting on these great ideas and letting time pass you by. If you don't do it now, then WHEN? Take the first step today.

Every day more and more women are leaving the confines of working as an employee to starting their own business where they have full control of their future. When you start your own business, you are your own boss and you should be proud of it. You may know a woman who owns her own business or you may be one yourself. One in eleven adult women is an entrepreneur! Every woman who follows her inner voice and takes the plunge of starting a business is courageous. Starting your own business allows you to be in charge of your life.It takes courage to start your own business and it takes courage to keep at it to make it successful. Here are three important tips to being a successful woman in business.
1. Understand What You Don’t Know. Most people start a business because they have a special gift or talent that they want to share with the world. No one starts a business having all the knowledge they need to make their business successful. It's important that you understand the things you don’t know and how to learn more about those things. Fortunately, there are many ways to learn including books, seminars, Internet, and networking groups. A great way to get started is to simply asking questions. Successful Women know the answer is out there and will find it.
2. Keep a Level head. Starting and growing your business can also be extremely stressful. You are the CEO, service provider, marketer, saleswoman, customer service representative and administrative assistant just to name a few. However, doesn’t include your personal life duties of wife, partner, mother, daughter, sister, neighbor and friend. It's no wonder women feel stressed! The key to maintaining a level head and not allowing ourselves to feel stressed is balance and focus. To do this, you have to know what you want...from everyday business decisions to major choices.
3. Get Out There. It’s extremely important that business women create relationships with other business women and entrepreneurs and connect with each other often. A great way to do this is to be part of a "mastermind" group. Mastermind groups consist of other women who get together for the sole purpose of sharing their victories and asking for ideas to overcome their latest challenges.
Deciding to start your own business can be exciting, empowering and courageous. To ensure your business success, keep these three tips in mind.

7 Quick and Easy tips for Boosting your Biz or
Ministry’s Visibility Using Twitter
Twitter is growing and regardless of speculation for now it is here to stay. It’s not just a place to share what you ate for dinner or talk about your bad relationship. Many businesses big and small are using Twitter to reinforce their marketing campaigns and if you’re not using Twitter or some form of Social media and your audience is online you might just be left behind.
In my work with various women entrepreneurs I’ve heard this statement many times “Twitter is so intimidating.” When I went deeper with them they explained that it moves so fast. Yes, this is true. Facebook moves slower and good etiquette on Facebook would include updating no more than about 3 -4 times give or take a few.
Twitter on the other hand can allow you to update or tweet up to 8 times and still consider you as an individual with proper Twitter etiquette. You also only get 140 characters in comparison to Facebook’s 420 and recently I’ve noticed 500 on the pages.
Before I share 7 tips I want to direct you to http://www.Twitter.com to set up an account if you don’t already have an account. It’s pretty self explanatory and there are prompts to move you along.
So here are 5 tips for boosting your biz and/or ministry using Twitter.
1) Identify your goal
You can set up an account and start tweeting but without a plan, without
identifying your goal you won’t experience the results you desire.
What is it you want to accomplish? You’ll need to identify this and then add steps to allow you to accomplish this in increments. There’s nothing like taking a trip without knowing where you’re going and how you’ll get there.
2) Get clear on who your audience is
Is your audience represented on Twitter? Often the best way to see if your audience is well represented on Twitter is to log on and start
browsing. Search for mentors and other individuals in your field. Look over their profile, followers etc. You can also google Twitter user statistics.
Take a few minutes to jot down who your audience is for your Twitter profile.
3) What is your Twitter Strategy?
Strategy a)

Are you one of those people who wonders why you never get any traction from the press releases you send out? Maybe you’re the Rodney Dangerfield of press releases–you get no respect because your releases aren’t worthy of the kind of attention you think they deserve.
How many of these press releases do you think editors get to read every day?
- How many long, badly-worded releases will they read before, eventually, they become instantly
put off just by the length of a press release? - And how much more likely do you think it is that an editor will read your SHORT, quick-to-read, press
release?
Many press releases are often ignored either because they are poorly written or fail to offer anything of value to the journalist who is looking for a news or feature story. You must have a story to tell, a hook, or an interesting angle.
Another thing, it doesn’t matter how well you have written your press release, if it’s too long then it won’t get read. So keep your press release short. Remove words that do not need to be there.
If you follow these simple rules you will restore the respect your press release truly deserves.

THE FREE, THE PAID, THE WHY: PRESS RELEASES…
The objective of a press release is to provide information to the media to reach the public via news coverage. This coverage can be in blogs, videos, newspapers, magazines and on radio and television.
“A company, individual or nonprofit can often gain valuable press coverage with no outlay of money other than the costs of writing and disseminating the release. A well-crafted press release presents facts in a positive light and can provide valuable name recognition, credibility or ancillary sales benefits; however, it is not paid advertising and cannot be designed to blatantly promote a product or service.” –Rosanne Knorr
The issue of using free or paid distribution of your press release is not an either or, but a must and both. Incorporate paid services at least quarterly, ideally monthly. Look to spend on average $250 which should include a couple of bells, whistles, and SEO with the distribution.
As a small business, solopreneur, or micro-enterprise you should be producing at least one press release a month. Each press release does not require paid distribution. When you are providing the the media with consistent brief text announcements of events, developments, and any other newsworthy information about you as an artist, personality, and/or your business it will not just get you in the news, but keep you in the news, increase your coverage, media contacts, and target audience’s familiarity with your brand. Point is, your business will be in the news and your paid services will help your free efforts have more impact.

I always recommend a 90 day plan when implementing marketing strategies. Don’t try a marketing tactic one time and judge its effectiveness from that one attempt. People respond and buy from whom or what they perceive as familiar. While your first time may not generate a response, it has made an impression and increased your brand’s perceived familiarity with your target audience.

Have you heard this song before? It's the title of a popular song by Green Day. Now, although the context of the song is sad I want to think about it from a personal and business aspect.
We are now at the beginning of September, about 3 months until the end of 2011, AND the busiest time of the year. School is starting for our kids, classes are starting for some of us, our jobs are doing performance evaluations, the best and most lucrative time in sales is upon us and to top it off, the weather is changing everywhere! With all these changes, it makes me wanna say, "Wake me up when September ends"! BUT of course I can't do that and shouldn't. This is a great time, if any, to get revved up about your business and your goals. We only have a few more months until 2011 is over. Where are you with your New Year Resolutions you set way back in January? Where are you with the goals you set at the beginning of each month? Are you accomplishing ANYTHING??? Are you checking things off of your 'to do' list? Well, consider it and make it ANOTHER goal to start accomplishing the things you set out to accomplish in January!
Congratulations to you if you are on track and are accomplishing almost everything you set out to at the beginning of the year. How did you do it? What business goals did you set at the beginning of the year that you already have? Would love to hear from you!

Effective communication is a skill that is vital to success. There is an increasing need for the ability to communicate with written and spoken words. Additionally, women are natural communicators. Even at a young age, females excel at verbal fluency quickly finding the right word, phrase or sentence. Thus a woman who is managing other people must know how to communicate with each person individually in a manner that each person can understand. When women embrace this knowledge and trust their natural language talent in communication, they will find their confidence build.
Helen Fisher author of The First Sex states, "Women are, on average, more interested in cooperation, harmony, and connections – a network of support." She further writes, "Women characteristically believe everyone can succeed in business; they take a win-win attitude in the office world."
Women are also skilled at multi-tasking. They are pros at juggling people, reports, deadlines and all the necessary resources which are critical to the success of the team or project. Even back in ancestral times, history shows a woman had to take care of babies under highly dangerous conditions demonstrating the need for multitasking even then. Mothers had to do countless daily chores while they took care of the family, stoked the fire, cooked the food and talked to friends.
