Saw this today and needed to pass this on to others....
A couple weeks ago, I was offered a corporate job -- it was right outta the blue. What a surprise! My first thought? “No way! Give up mybusiness Forget it!”
Then, in a hazy memory, I caught a whiff of something. I drew air, deep and long, into my nostrils. Ah, the smell of money!
I pondered it: a consistent paycheck. A daily routine. Paid vacation! But the more I pondered, the more I saw what I’d give up:
• A live based on what I love doing
• Total freedom to run my business my way
• The flexibility to balance my personal and work life
Of course, I said yes – yes to myself, to my business and to my entrepreneurial life.
Why do I share this story? To encourage you to continue on your pathway – whether business is booming or lagging. And if you’re struggling? Consider this:
“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” – Thomas A. Edison

PELL GRANTS
Program Description
The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based grants to low-income undergraduate and certain post baccalaureate students to promote access to postsecondary education. Students may use their grants at any one of approximately 5,400 participating postsecondary institutions. Grant amounts are dependent on: the student's *Expected Family Contribution (EFC) (see below); the cost of attendance (as determined by the institution); the student's enrollment status (full-time or part-time); and whether the student attends for a full academic year or less. Students may not receive Federal Pell Grant funds from more than one school at a time.
Financial need is determined by the U.S. Department of Education using a standard formula, established by Congress, to evaluate the financial information reported on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and to determine the family *EFC. The fundamental elements in this standard formula are the student's income (and assets if the student is independent), the parents' income and assets (if the student is dependent), the family's household size, and the number of family members (excluding parents) attending postsecondary institutions. The EFC is the sum of: (1) a percentage of net income (remaining income after subtracting allowances for basic living expenses and taxes) and (2) a percentage of net assets (assets remaining after subtracting an asset protection allowance). Different assessment rates and allowances are used for dependent students, independent students without dependents, and independent students with dependents. After filing a FAFSA, the student receives a Student Aid Report (SAR), or the institution receives an Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR), which notifies the student if he or she is eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and provides the student's EFC.
FSA Handbook Federal Pell Grant Program
Federal Pell Grants are direct grants awarded through participating institutions to students with financial need who have not received their first bachelor's degree or who are enrolled in certain post baccalaureate programs that lead to teacher certification or licensure. Participating institutions either credit the Federal Pell Grant funds to the student's school account, pay the student directly (usually by check) or combine these methods. Students must be paid at least once per term (semester, trimester, or quarter); schools that do not use formally defined terms must pay the student at least twice per academic year
Eligibility:
Who May Apply: (by category) Individuals
Who May Apply: (specifically) Undergraduate and vocational students enrolled or accepted for enrollment in participating schools may apply.

When you have an important financial decision to make, take a step backand breathe. First look at all the options, not just the ones you prefer. Before you panic or fear, ask God what solution He has already provided for you. Ask your Savior for guidance in doing the thing that is best for both you and your family. Once you've prayed, then go about listing what all of your options are. On paper or out loud with a loved one, work out the good and bad consequences of choosing each option.
Now that you've listed the pros and cons, here comes the hard part, choose one. Make a choice. Be confident in your God's ability to answer your prayer. Be confident in your ability to make a good decision for yourself and your family. Click Here To Read More

I could have just posted a quick tutorial, but sometimes videos are better than words so here are a few videos. The second one is a walk-through for my affiliate team so you can see how to login to your e-junkie affiliate page and get your custom html code to promote the Sistas Who Sell 7 Day Challenge. The most effective way to promote this challenge is to share your story about your experience in the challenge and include your affiliate link within your post. Folks like to try something their friends are trying and/or recommend. Test out my theory on recommending affiliate products as opposed to trying to pitch folks and tell me what you think.
Last but not least, this 7 Day challenge is happening now and its only $7 SO if you want to learn more about improving your online sales, its worth signing up now before I decide to take the challenge down. I'm ALWAYS doing something new, so I like to take down the old to make room for the new. If you are thinking about signing up, now is the best time to do so | details here.
Bridget just signed up for the Challenge yesterday and the first thing she told me was, "Great info! Day 1 was so worth the price of this challenge alone! I am now implementing a testimonial page on my site!"
I hope you join us and tell me what you think. At the very least, watch the videos in this post for a few new affiliate marketing tips. If you can not see the three videos above, click here.

All advertising for your blog should not be web based. Make sure that you get business cards and give them out wherever you go. Make sure that they are pleasing to the eye and express exactly what your blog is about. Include the website address (hopefully a custom domain), your name, email address, and the general subject matter of your site.
This is a great low priced way to advertise because people will walk around with your little blogging billboard. Having this visual encourages people to visit your site. Vistaprint.com has great low priced rates for business cards. They also have a variety of card templates to choose from.

Attending a conference can be as productive as you plan it to be. You will gain opportunities to communicate with many people, be inspired by great ideas, excited about future of your business and empowered to move your business forward. To have the most successful experience, here are “6 Simple Tips to Prepare for a Business Conference.”
Tip 1: Preplan your Day
Most conferences require a full day of your time. It is important to look and feel your best; wear appropriate and professional attire and comfortable shoes. At past conferences, I’ve seen women walking bare footed at the end of the day. Not a good look!
Tip 2: Pick your Sessions
If the conference agenda is available in advance, take time to map out a strategy to select sessions that are most beneficial to improve your skills. At each session, actively participate by asking questions and taking notes. Spend a few minutes after the presentation to introduce yourself to the presenter.
Tip 3: Practice your Pitch
You will meet a lot of people and have the opportunity of introducing yourself and business. Make sure your message is clear and concise. Fine tune your elevator pitch to make the most of your meeting.
Tip 4: Prepare to Network
This is a great opportunity to network with people. The key is to meet new business contacts. Depending on the size of the conference, make sure you visit the exhibitors and sponsors who might be prospective vendors or clients.
Tip 5: Bring Plenty of Marketing Material
The purpose of attending a conference is to market your business, right? So, why not have a professional brochure, flyer and or business cards. At the very least, have plenty of business cards to pass out.
With that being said, make sure the information on your business cards is accurate to avoid crossing out and handwriting your updated information. Remember, image is everything! A helpful suggestion, jot some details of people you meet on the back of their business cards to remember later.
Tip 6: Follow Up
Within the next week, make sure you follow up with e-mails, phone calls or a simple letter. The key is to connect with potential people that can be beneficial to your company.
In conclusion, by deciding on the bottom line results you want to achieve, whether meeting certain presenters, attendees or vendors or attending a specific session, make sure you get a great return on investment or ROI.

College Scholarships: Athletic Scholarship Application Checklist
Want to play college ball, and get a college *scholarship for doing it? There are a number of requirements you must first fulfill, and a number of things you can do to ensure that you're on a prospective school's radar. Follow these steps to improve your chances of snagging athletic university scholarships.
Contact the school formally
Once you have made a list of the schools you're interested in, get the names of the head coaches and write to them. When you do, include:
· A factual resume of your athletic and academic accomplishments
· 10-to-15 minutes of video highlights (with your jersey number noted)
· Letters of recommendation from your high school and off-season coaches
· Your season schedule
Ace the interview
When you meet with a recruiter or coach, be sure to offer a firm handshake and maintain eye contact. According to recruiters, the most effective attitude is quiet confidence, respect, sincerity, and enthusiasm. These are qualities they'll want to see on the court and on the field.
Ask good questions
Don't think that you should refrain from asking questions. Not only will you impress the recruiter -- you’ll get the information you need to make the right decisions about your athletic and academic future. Such questions might include:
· Do I qualify athletically and academically?
· If I were recruited, what would the parameters of the college scholarships be?
· For what position am I being considered?
· What level of interest do you have in me?
Follow up
Timing is everything. There are four times when a follow-up letter from you or your coach can be extremely effective in procuring student scholarships:
· Prior to the senior season
· During or just after the senior season
· Just prior to or after announced signing dates (conference-affiliated or national association)
· Late summer, in case undergraduate scholarships offered to other athletes have been withdrawn or declined
Just like in sports, success with college scholarships is about persistence. Give it your all, and there’s a good chance it will pay off.
