Are Affiliates in Demand? Is there a demand for affiliate marketers today? Yes, there is a huge demand. One of the challenges faced in the affiliate marketing industry is that it sometimes sounds too good to be true: advertising that's guaranteed to work or it's free! Newcomers wonder if it's possible, and skeptics claim that the cost effective prices of affiliate marketing lower the bar for online advertising. But there is a good reason that affiliate marketing has experienced steady growth throughout the ups and downs of online advertising—it works. And affiliate marketing has evolved to become a reliable source of sales for a wide range of marketers.Affiliate marketing has evolved from the early years when some touted it as the future of online advertising, and others claimed it was the downfall of the medium. It's now a sophisticated channel that generates anywhere from five to 25% of online sales for many of the world's biggest brands.Almost all major multi-channel marketers have an affiliate program of some kind. The important thing to remember is that affiliate programs now come in all shapes and sizes. The concept of a wide-open affiliate program with an unlimited and uncontrolled number of affiliates is a thing of the past. Nearly all marketers agree that affiliates add value to an online marketing effort, but the program must be tailored to meet the marketer's objectives.Affiliate marketing did not bring an end to other, higher priced forms of online media advertising. The success of the affiliate marketing in delivering sales cost effectively by way of a pay-for-performance model paved the way for other forms of performance-based advertising, such as CPA-based search and portal advertising, to create acceptance among direct marketers. Affiliate marketing has evolved, with affiliates and marketers becoming more sophisticated and programs more integrated with other forms of online marketing.Learn more at the Mentors Club.

What is an Affiliate Marketer?

Affiliate Marketer DefinedAccording to The World’s Glossary of Internet Terms, “Affiliate Marketer is defined as: “A business relationship with a merchant or other service provider who allows you to link to that business. When a visitor clicks on the link at your site and subsequently makes a purchase from the merchant, you receive a commission based on the amount of the sale, a referral fee or a pay-for-click fee.”This is a simple, straight-forward agreement between a merchant and an affiliate. Budding affiliate marketers run into a problem when they try to reverse the success process. Instead of starting at the beginning, they try to start at the end.Making money is the end of the process. The beginning of the process is education and there are several steps in between. Too many people, who are just getting started in affiliate marketing, fail to take the steps necessary to get to the end of the process and actually make money.Step #1: Educate yourself. This is the key, opening the door of opportunity. It's also the common thread connecting successful affiliate marketers. Education lays the foundation - the building blocks to success. Start by gathering the best information you can find about affiliate marketing and absorbing it.Step #2: Turn that information into usable knowledge. Even the best information remains kind of worthless, however, until after you discover how to use it - how to make it serve your purpose.Step #3: Start applying the knowledge ... take action ...start building your affiliate business. Will you make mistakes, even though you've invested all that time educating yourself? Yes, you most likely will make mistakes.Step #4: Test and tweak, test and tweak. This one never ends. And it's often the dividing line between succeeding and failing. Attention to small details often returns big rewards.Following these steps will define you as a successful affiliate marketer.Learn more at the Mentors Club.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing in a NutshellWhat exactly is affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is the single fastest growth industry on the Internet. It’s also true that affiliate marketing is one of the fastest and most creative ways to make money and have a career on the Internet.Simply put, affiliate marketing is selling products on a commission basis. You own a business that advertises and sells products for other companies. You may have a product of your own to begin with or not. The things that a successful affiliate marketer must have are:1. Your website is the jumping off point of all your marketing efforts. So the first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a good, credible and professional looking website. You must build a user-friendly website, which will attract your prospects and motivate them to click on the links to the products and services you are promoting and make a purchase. There are companies whose business is building websites that you can hire to build one for you.2. You must find products to sell, you must be able to determine whether there is a demand for those products and if people will actually buy them. You may either have your own original product or products that are made by others. Which ever way you go, you must believe in the products.3. It will be necessary for you to become an adept advertiser and be able to tell whether the advertising you are paying for is producing more income for you than the advertising is costing you.4. It is necessary that you have good mathematical skills. You will need to be able to track your sales and determine profit, as well as, see to it that your suppliers are paid in full and on time.5. You need the full and unwavering support of your family so that you can devote the time and energy necessary to launch your affiliate marketing business.Learn more at the Mentors Club.

20 Great Ways to Market Your Business Locally

20 Great Ways to Market Your Business LocallyWhether your target audience is in your neighborhood or across the world, you can use your local resources to get the word out about your business. Your local community is easily accessible and provides dozens of opportunities for building a buzz about your product or service. The following are twenty ideas to get you started.1. Offer Your Product or Service as a Free Give AwayFor example, if you own a restaurant, you could have your local Holiday Inn give away dinner gift certificates for $10 to hotel guests during check-in. If you own a car wash, you could have the local car dealerships give away a certificate for a free wash with all car purchases. Think about businesses that are complimentary to yours and offer a promotion that is easy for them to implement and that will benefit their customers.2. Donate to Local Charities & SchoolsOffer your products, services, or gift certificates for charity auctions and events. This will get you exposure to everyone who attends the event and build loyalty with members of the organization you are supporting- not to mention a tax write-off!3. Leave Brochures, Fliers, and Business Cards EverywhereMany local businesses will allow you to display your cards and brochures. Potential venues include:-Car washes-Bookstores-Coffee shops-Apartment buildings (near mailboxes or in laundry rooms)-Churches-Student centers-Community centers-Retirement centers-Fitness centers-Subways and bus depots-Fraternities and Sororities-Libraries4. Canvas Nearby NeighborhoodsInstead of just leaving a flier, you could leave an inexpensive item or tips booklet. One local Realtor stuck an American flag on the lawns of everyone in our neighborhood and then left her brochure on the doorsteps. Not only did the neighborhood look wonderful with all of those flags waving in the wind, but everyone loves a patriotic theme. This is a great strategy for all kinds of holidays: Independence Day, Veteran¡¦s Day, Memorial Day, etc. You could take this idea a step further and do something similar for all of the major holidays. You can find inexpensive novelty items in bulk from www.rinovelty or www.orientaltrading.com.5. Hold a ContestPeople love to get stuff for free and contests are a great way to lure in new customers. Make the prizes something people want, or even just a gift certificate or shopping spree for your business. Be sure to alert the media to your contest. Here are some contest ideas:-Have kids color pictures or submit stories related to your business.-Have customers submit funny business slogans.-Hold a poetry contest with a theme related to your business.-Have people submit their best solutions to problems related to your business. For example, if you own a garden center, people could submit their best gardening tips. Take this a step further and publish the entries in a booklet when the contest is over.-Host a recipe contest if you have a food-related business.6. Use Gift Certificates CreativelyGift certificates are great for business because they cost you next to nothing, bring in cash, and often they are not redeemed. Get your customers to buy gift certificates by offering them a special bonus. For example: Buy a gift certificate for $20 or more and receive $5 off your next purchase with us. When the customer purchases a gift certificate, you then give them one worth $5 dated for use the following month only. This means that your customer must return to you the following month and if they do, will probably spend more than the free $5 you¡¦ve given them.7. Host In-Home PartiesMary Kay, Tupperware, and Pampered Chef are just a few of the companies who generate big sales from small parties. This strategy won¡¦t work for all businesses, but if you have products that would benefit from an in-home party, contact your friends, family, and business associates and get the party started.8. Join Local Trade OrganizationsMany organizations hold regular meetings and free seminars, providing you with another opportunity to make valuable contacts. Toastmasters (www.toastmasters.org) has chapters all over the U.S. and there are probably dozens of other organizations in your community to choose from. Even if you don¡¦t think your business can benefit from networking, you might be surprised by the connections you can make at these events.9. Join EverythingEven the PTA (Parent/Teacher Association) can be a great place to network. Join book clubs, writer's groups, or any groups of interest to you, even if they don't directly relate to your business. Get known by everyone. They will associate you with your business as soon as they get to know you and your mere presence at functions could serve as a reminder and cause members to want to do business with you.10. Use Networking to Build AlliancesThe secret to effective networking is to not just be on the lookout for what business contacts can do for you, but to consider what you can do for them. When you meet someone new, ask questions and engage them in conversation. Offer advice or ideas, build a relationship and trust between you. Once you've established a rapport, offer to meet for coffee or lunch and see if you can brainstorm ways to work together.11. Set Up Shop at the Farmer's MarketIf you have a food-related product or anything of interest to the general public, the local farmer's market is a great place to not only generate sales, but to increase exposure to your business. Visit www.farmersmarket.com for a directory of these events.12. Swap Coupons with a Complimentary BusinessOffer to give away their coupons with each purchase while they give away your coupons with each purchase. Each provides the other with coupons and runs the promotion simultaneously. Make sure you print a special run of coupons or give them some unique identifier (printed on a special color of paper, for example) so you can easily track the success of the promotion.13. Give Away Free TipsTips sheets or booklets can be a fantastic marketing tool. Put together a list of tips, similar to the tips you¡¦re reading now. Your tips could be as few as ten or as many as 100. For example, a financial advisor could put together a tips sheet called "Twenty Ways to Save on Tax Planning." A beauty salon could offer "Ten Tips for Ageless Skin." A child care center could give away "Twenty-five Tips for Child Safety."Print your tips sheets or booklets and give them away as a bonus with purchase or use them with your advertising. If you offer something of real value, people will be more likely to hang onto your list and refer to it over and over again, thus you are providing a consistent reminder of your business. Make sure your contact information and logo are printed on the documents.14. Smile for the CamerasTelevision news programs like to host guests who have visual appeal. If there is something you can demonstrate, or an interesting presentation you can give, pitch your idea to local news program producers (locate their contact information from their websites). Watch your local programs to see what kinds of stories they feature and how you can tailor yours to meet their needs.15. Offer Something WackyOne northern California restaurant started a Bald Tuesday promotion. You guessed it; anybody who was in a stage of balding could eat there for free on Tuesdays. Not only did this bring people in for a free meal, those patrons brought along paying customers with full heads of hair. And the biggest benefit of all? The media loved the story and covered it in the local news. Soon the story reached national news and the restaurant became the talk of the nation. Think of something unique and unusual that will bring people in¡Xthen be sure to alert the media.16. Online Classified AdsOne fabulous venue for getting the word out about your business is www.craigslist.org. There is no charge for listing your add in a variety of categories and Craigslist now has a presence in most major cities. Ads are archived for two weeks, so be sure to resubmit regularly. Try different ads to see what works best. You can even offer a discount or special offer for people who print the ad and bring it to you.17. Record Audio CDsIt can be relatively inexpensive to record a CD using your computer with a recordable disk drive. You can put together and audio presentation that your prospects can listen to in their cars. Assemble a display and give them away. You can also place them in the same types of venues where you distribute fliers.18. Turn Your Customers into BillboardsGive away your shirts, hats, and other gear or sell it at cost. The big companies print their logos on everything and get people to buy, so you can too. Make sure it is something that people will want to wear. You could put a fun image or phrase on the front of a shirt, with your company logo and website address on the back. Be creative!19. Make it StickMagnets are an inexpensive way to leave a lasting impression. Print your business card and logo on a magnet. Many people stick these on their refrigerators and will remember it's there when it's time to call a plumber, do their taxes, or order supplies. These are especially effective for service businesses. You can order these from www.4imprint.com.20. Use Your License PlateIt only costs a bit extra to order vanity plates from the DMV. If your business name fits on a plate, put it on there. Be sure to frame it with a vanity license plate frame.Your local community is a great place to build support and recognition for your business so don¡¦t miss out on this valuable opportunity. By implementing even one of these suggested marketing strategies, you could open new doors for business opportunities.About the Author: Stephanie Chandler is a small business expert and the author of FROM ENTREPRENEUR TO INFOPRENEUR: MAKE MONEY WITH BOOKS, E-BOOKS AND INFORMATION PRODUCTS. Some many negative people

I opened up a consignment/thrift shop in georgia, what I have witnessed is that the blacks here would rather patronize the other agencies, although my prices are cheap and outstanding customer service. I have researched all agency prices for the accuracy of pricing my clothing, furniture and appliances. The blacks walk into my store look around and rather than patronize they ask a million questions like is all this stuff yours? did it come from your house?wanting me to explain how I got started and always wanting a deal. I have the hardest time making profit or recieving donations from them. The blacks immediately want consignment no one ever just makes a donation to me. They are fast to make a donation to Salvation Army or Goodwill though. I am also the director of a youth team for the disadvantaged ages 13-19. I pay for everything out of my pocket besides the fundraisers we create. It amazes me to see how many people step on you b/c you are moving towards being successful. If anyone would like to send any donations please let me know, all support is needed, and greatly appreciated. In my youth program I cloth them and make sure they have proper bedding and furniture. I also create service hours for them through the community in doing community service. If you need proof of any of these services pleas let me know where to forward the info.

A Nlitened Thought! 05/09/08

The heart has its reasons which reason knows not of.[ Blaise Pascal ]Make Yourself IrresistibleAdapted from Power, Freedom, and Grace by Deepak Chopra (Amber Allen, 2006).When you exhibit positive and negative qualities, you are not flawed; you are complete. When you are comfortable with your shadow, when you embrace your shadow because this is how the infinite consciousness made you, then you are attractive beyond measure, and your life is an adventure. You are natural when you are comfortable with your ambiguity, and nothing is more beautiful than being natural. When you are comfortable with both your strengths and weaknesses, you radiate simple, unaffected humanity. This is the essence of being lovable because you are not subject to behaviors that drive love away. You do not constantly look for approval by getting caught up in thinking: What do others think of me? Am I superior, am I inferior? Do people like me, or do they dislike me? You don’t constantly compare yourself to an ideal that doesn’t exist. Your ego doesn’t say to you, “I’m not good enough. I’m not pretty enough. I’m not handsome enough. I’m not rich enough.”If your experience of yourself is object-referred, it is fear-based and resistant to what is. If your experience of yourself is self-referred, it is love-based and accepting of what is. Self-referred people are natural and unaffected by the opinions of others. They are innocent, simple and childlike. Thank you, God, for making me just like I am. I have good things, and I have bad things; I have all things in me. I am complete. Self-acceptance, total self-acceptance, means self-forgiveness. When you forgive yourself and stop judging yourself, then you won’t judge others, and there will be less conflict in the world. All relationship is a mirror to the self. Identify the qualities that attract you to others, and the qualities that repel you. Write them down on a piece of paper. This is who you are. And if you accept yourself as you are, and love yourself as you are, you become immensely attractive because you are natural. My thought:There is a whole lot in this one so I will let in flow and find rest within you!HAVE A GLORIOUS WEEKEND. MAKE YOUR OWN SUNSHINE! SMILE ;.)!Love is…TL

For Immediate ReleaseContact Information:Brenda Farrar-EjemaiE-Mail: favorblooms@thefamilyinthecar.comA SHELTER IN THE TIME OF STORMAuthor Releases Documentary after 4 YearsColumbia, MD-April 5, 2008--Well-known author, Brenda Farrar-Ejemai reveals, what was at first anonymously written, a documentary that records her experience in New York City over 17 years ago. Faced with the unexpected trauma of homelessness, her struggle began.THE FAMILY IN THE CAR, A Revelation, which the author describes as “on-time”, time-lines the journey of this struggle. It shows how members of a family who were all their lives sheltered, as well as privileged, now were without. “The trauma was so unbelievable, I felt that period in my life was a dream and not actually lived,” Ejemai said. Although it was written in 2004, the author felt led to release it in 2008 and reveal the true characters in the documentary. It is impacted with trials, but ends with triumph. This documentary will not only encourage, but will inspire those who are experiencing or have experienced this trauma. There are a number of middle class Americans living secretly homeless today.Brenda Farrar-Ejemai has taken a leap-of-faith in the writing of this documentary. With the rise in foreclosures in the United States today, this documentary is not only timely, but relevant. The face of the homeless is changing rapidly. No longer can the homeless be viewed only as the poor, criminals or mentally ill.
