Maybe you've heard of the book "As a man thinketh."It's a very popular book, however, not as popular as thebible which is where the scripture "As a man thinketh in His heartso is he" is found. Proverbs 23:7What about the power of your words? You can create an atmosphere for healing, peace, Faith and prosperitythrough the words that you speak and you will maximize the impact throughthe word of God, but only if you know how to use it.It is important as women of Faith that we equip ourselves with everytool within our reach.Death and life are in the power of the tongue:and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21What are you speaking? Look around you, take inventory of your life. What fruit do you see? Some of what you see is a result of yourwords of life or death. That may sound harsh, however, the damage yourtongue can do to your life is harsh. There's life in the word of God and when we speak life words filledwith the word "confessions" we build a life of POWER!!Take a look at the scripture below for some of the benefits ofrestraining your words.Proverbs 17:27-28: "Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding. Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent."It's not easy when you try to do it in the flesh. You must build upyour spirit which will strengthen you.Another thing to consider on the flip side is that your words are powerfuland we are responsible for every word we speak. So whether you desire totake action and use confessions to frame your world or not there is arepercussion."But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken." Matthew 12:36What can you do about it?What if you had a resource that shared additional insights on the powerof Confessions and listed confessions that you could use to power up?Introducing "Confessions good for the soul, spirit and body!"This is a power-packed resource full of insights and confessions to empoweryour life and assist you in framing your world with the word of God.You'll find confessions on healing, peace, faith and prosperity. There's also a limited customized eBook option. You can pre-order this powerful resource for a limited time at a savings.Get "Confessions good for the soul, spirit and body" by clicking here. You shall have what you say!

Holiday Season Request from Darlene Robinson

This is Darlene Fobinson from the Black Business Network. I’m asking for your support to make at least one purchase from a black owned business at the Black Business Network this holiday season. By supporting one of these black owned businesses will make a huge financial impact for that biz. Do you think you can go to the website today and look at the products and pick out at least one product to add to your holiday shopping list this year? We would really appreciate your support in recycling your dollars with a black owned biz this holiday season. A small purchase as little as $5, $10 or $20 will make a huge difference in the bottom line for that business and their families. One of my favorite businesses at the black business network called Products of the Earth who are making their products by hand. These PRODUCTS ARE SUPERIOR THAN SO MANY OTHER products out there on the market today. They are all natural and some of the best products i have ever used. There is also a black computer company, plus health and nutritional products, cosmetics. inspirational, motivational and educational clothing, books, cds ,dvds. Then my two favorites the President Obama figurine and the African Genesis program that provides families with an educational course to learn about our African heritage to earn a free trip to Egypt just by successfully completing a 2 year course! When you buy from one of these businesses it not only helps out that biz, it also helps me out because the money i earn from these sales will help me to build my family’s funds to get back into a home. Many of you may not know that my family was evicted from our home on July 4, 2008. We were victims of identity theft when someone forged their name on the deed to our home in Sept 2006 and tried to sell our home right out from under us. God blessed us with the knowledge to start a business that helped other families who were victims of fraud or facing foreclosure due to predatory lending practices.Because we fought for over a year and used all of our savings, until we ran out of funds. Sold our daughter’s car, my husband’s 2 trucks and even our piano. If it hadn’t been for the help from family & friends and the Grace of God we would have been homeless. My family is trying to get back on our feet financially and the majority of our monies go towards keeping the business afloat. We have lived in a 400 sq ft guest house of a dear family member since July 2008. I want to be able to give my 2 children the ultimate present of moving back into a house even a rental before Christmas this year. We need to get the rest of the money for the deposits and getting the utilities turned on. So can I count on you to make a least one purchase at www.blackbusinessnetwork.com/TeamDollar today to not only help me out, but also to help a black business prosper this holiday season?Don’t forget to visit the website today to place your order for timely delivery!Thank you for your continued support by reading my emails and listening to my voice mails. May god bless you and your family this upcoming holiday season and hope you have a prosperous new year!Darlene Robinson and familyOrlando, FL

This week has been inspiring to me, because I feel like more and more people are not just talking about women and abuse, but they are doing something about it. I recently donated to the Young Mommy Life Charity for young mothers who have survived sexual, mental and emotional abuse and I encourage you to do the same. URL: http://youngmoms.chipin.com/yml-gives Also, one of our own BMC Members, Gwendolyn, is currently trying to leave an abusive relationship and she needs your support. She is asking for donations in the form of shoes and clothes for her two young boys. If you can help please visit the forum discussion: http://blackmomsclub.ning.com/forum/topics/957102:Topic:66676 Also, make it about to watch the recently released movie 'Precious'. Set in Harlem in 1987, it is the story of Claireece Precious Jones, a sixteen-year-old African-American girl born into a life no one would want. Shes pregnant for the second time by her absent father; at home, she must wait hand and foot on her mother, a poisonously angry woman who abuses her emotionally and physically. School is a place of chaos, and Precious has reached the ninth grade with good marks and an awful secret: she can neither read nor write. Precious may sometimes be down, but she is never out. Beneath her impassive expression is a watchful, curious young woman with an inchoate but unshakeable sense that other possibilities exist for her. Threatened with expulsion, Precious is offered the chance to transfer to an alternative school, Each One/Teach One. Precious doesnt know the meaning of alternative, but her instincts tell her this is the chance she has been waiting for. In the literacy workshop taught by the patient yet firm Ms. Rain, Precious begins a journey that will lead her from darkness, pain and powerlessness to light, love and self-determination.

Get the Facts About Health Power 101

From time to time I like to spotlight the books of Black Authors featured on Black Writers Connect. Today's spotlight book is 'Health Power 101: the Complete Guide to Patient Empowerment' by Dr. Jeff Brown. Today more than ever Americans can not afford to be unaware when it comes to their health, a fact that Dr. Jeff Brown takes very seriously. When asked why he wrote the book Health Power 101, Dr. Jeff stated:
Over the years as I’ve worked in emergency rooms, hospital wards, and in clinic settings, I’ve met thousands of patients with little knowledge of their personal health history. I have found that the few patients who keep any type of personal health record typically keep one that is incomplete or poorly organized. These findings concerned me. It is precisely this lack of knowledge that can expose a patient to disease, medical errors and medical mismanagement. The only solution to this very common problem in America today is to empower people to be aware of and protect their most precious asset – their health. As a physician, I want to effectively treat my patients. Yet even more than that, I want everyone to have access to the tools they need to help them manage their health and track their medical history. I’ve developed the Health Power 101 System so that everyone can maintain accurate personal health records and be more informed about their health.
You can get your own copy of Health Power 101 by visiting: http://www.jeffreybrownmd.com. If you are a black author and would like your book featured on my social networks review the featured books by Black Authors website. URL: http://sistapreneurs.ning.com/page/featured-books

How Do I Follow Up and Build Relationships?

To achieve a successful strategy for building and managing stonger client and prospect relationships business owners and professionals need a "SYSTEM" that takes the time -consuming work out of the process, is easy to use, and is cost effective.A follow-up System could include: direct mail, phone calls, and /or e-mails.Here's the Problem:. Direct Mail that looks like it went out to everyone in the area tends to be tossed out--- UNLESS it is personal and engages the prospect or customer emotionally. The response rate to direct mail used to be 2-5%. Today it is only 1/4- 1/2 -% due to people feeling bombarded with promotional information that does not engage them on a personal level.. Phone calls are time consuming and not always appreciated.. E-mail is increasingly unopened, deleted and ineffective due to its impersonal nature in fact, up to 87% is deleted!. You need a system that is personal, easy to use, convenient, not time consuming, and is cost effective. What's the solution?have a great productive day!Thank you for continuing to follow this blog.Donna Elmorewww.sendoutcards.com/donnaelmore

Boot Season

Hey everyone, before I begin I just want to say Happy Friday!! I stepped outside this morning and I felt the cool, crisp air and immediatly I thought. It's time to rock my boots. ITS BOOT SEASON YEAH!!! Now being a plus size woman its a challenge finding stylish boots. Either you have big feet(slowly raising my hand lol), thick calfs, or you may not be able to find a comfortable heel. *SIGH* Well I'm going to make it my mission to find stylish boots for plus size women facing this challenge.I went on the search for what style of boot I'm looking for. Me personally I am looking for something unique and different so I found this website called www.barefoottess.com. They specialize in boots from sizes 11-15! There moto is "Because style does not stop at size 10" I love that..... and here is what I found. This particular boot is called the Mantiboah 'Buffalo Dancer Boot'. I liked this boot because of its uniqueness and style, they look comfortable and they would definatly look good paired with leggings and a long sweater.(very native american)ite is $199.00. I really like these. Now this boot I love. It's called the Delman 'Gaiety' Boot. I love this one because its very chic, structured, and sexy.(not to mention unique) This would look good paired with tights and a sweater dress (very simple)the cost of this boot is $299.00 its on sale from its original price which was $595.00.Last but not least, the Muk Luks 'sweater knit' Boot. I just thought these boots were cute, plain and simple. They kind of remind me of Uggs. Rock these with a pair of jeans and sweater or tunic top will bring the outfit together nicely. These are sold for $49.00.Okay I know the prices are high but my next challenge is to find the alternative to these boots. And if you can deal with the price remember they are on www.barefoottess.com. Let me know what your boot pics for the season or if you like the ones I picked all you have to do is leave a comment. To be continued......Hey if you liked this blog go to my blog spot at www.upscale07.blogspot.com for fasion tips, conversation, and the latest trends in fashion.

The play sounds very exciting and I can't wait to see it. Hope some of you out of towners will come to NY and support Kerry and David. (And yes we are already on a first name basis....because it's just like that) Anyway.... There is an online video of an interview I SURVIVED with David Alan Grier (lol), which is currently in rehearsals. I also got to speak with James Spader. Hello BBWO!I had the privilege of interviewing veteran filmmaker Lee Daniels where he talks about his highly-anticipated film "Precious," starring Mo'Nique, Lenny Kravitz and working with newcomer Gabby Sidibe. In the intimate conversation he tells a dramatic story from childhood that explains why he chose to bring Sapphire's book, "Push," to the big screen. Also check out the interview I did with Gabby Sidibe, the star of "Precious." She is such a delight. Funny and witty. When we did this interview she was completing her second film called "Yelling to the Sky."Would love to hear feedback? Social Networking Tips

Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, I’m sure your have profiles on one, two, three or more of these sites, especially if you’re a business owner. And if you don't, what the heck is wrong with you? Go set some up- now!Social networking sites were created to form online communities for individuals with similar interests and for those who want to find out other people’s interests and activities. So, why is social networking important?-- It gives your business a face and a presence other than your physical location.-- Social networking helps you develop your business through connections with other entrepreneurs, business owners and customers. It helps you build relationships as well.-- It's pretty much free recognition for your business.Tips:-- Show off your personality. Don’t be afraid to share anecdotes, testimonies and tips- these will help people notice you. Also, people like networking with those they find enganging, helpful and entertaining.-- Present yourself as sincere, reliable and as an expert in your field.-- Know that you have to participate in social networking constantly. You have to continue adding friends/followers and interact with them on a regular basis.-- Set goals for your social networking. For example, decide how many new friends or followers you want to have per week, or you choose how many times you’ll post a blog, note, etc.-- Don’t constantly put comments on people’s walls and profiles pushing them to buy your product or service. That’s called spam, and it’s very annoying, especially if you haven't tried to get to know the individual. A better approach is leaving someone a comment saying, ‘hi’ and leaving a signature with a name a link. For example:Hi Chris,Just stopping by to say, ‘hello.’ Have a great day!~Jamiemochawriter.comWhen you continue to build a relationship with your friends/followers, then you can put some info about your business on their walls. Just make sure it’s not too often or too much info.Happy Networking!
