I have been thinking alot about our business "God's Hands & Feet" and i joined this website and i am introduced to a whole new world i had and still have no idea about and my immediate thought is "Lord, where to from here?, How do i do this ?" all these kinda questions are in my head, clogging it actully, i start creating bookmarks at every chance i get at the moment we have quite a few and our range is expanding daily but how do we do it? of course through God's power and grace, but this whole new world and the opportunities seem endless, i have people coming at me sharing stuff and i never new this exist in this world we are living in, people dont want others to succed, but here on this site its the exact opposite, totally awesome, and so God ordained, only question i have is how do we make this benefit our business, what am i to do?services we are doing at the moment, creating bookmarks, we do laminations, we do flyers for advertising, we do invitaions, seem pretty staright forward but not really. we love reaching out t o people with God's word. i guess whqt i saying is i just need to figure out exactly where we are going with this, at the moment we are not sure just Trusting God with the impossiblities,. anyway i just babling on here. my question to all you beautiful ladies are "WHAT IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE SUCCESS OF YOUR BUSINESSES?" 3 Network Marketing Mistakes to Avoid

As the creator of Black Business Women Online, I'm like a network marketers dream! With almost 10,000 members (many of which are into network marketing) my inbox is always overflowing with messages about Avon products, Body Magic, Life Compass and everything in between. Having spent years perfecting my own marketing techniques and watching the strategies of others, I'd like to share 3 Network Marketing Mistakes that you should absolutely, positively, avoid!
  1. When trying to promote my first website (msoyonline.com), my newbie instinct was to send out emails to my friends and family. When I realized that sounded better than it worked, I found myself in a state of desperation sending out emails that said, "Please visit msoy. If you can support the site in anyway it would be greatly appreciated ... blah blah blah." I pulling at heart strings would get me some traffic, but a friend quickly gave me a reality check and said ... "Man, you sound desperate." That was almost 10 years ago. After that point and to this day I vowed never to sound like THAT GIRL again. Most network marketers that I come across try to pitch you great stuff all the while sounding VERY desperate. Don't beg, don't ask for support, don't ask people to help you reach a financial goal. How you sell yourself will allows affect people's desire to buy and desperation is often a big turn off for buyers.
  2. When I started actually making money online, I got really caught up in the chase for the next sale, always hoping to see that magic surge of sales we all hope for. In the process I learned that magic isn't real and chasing sales get's you real tired real fast. When I slowed down and started cultivating relationships with my old customers, my business really took off. Don't make the mistake of neglecting your existing customers. Ask yourself these two questions. How often do you stay in contact with your old customers? How do you market to your old customers online?
  3. A lot of network marketers jump right into marketing before they ever truly understand how this stuff works. You already know it's easy to get into your line of business, but as time always tells, this stuff is hard! Don't make the mistake of thinking it's easy for other people and not for you. Don't think of yourself as a network marketer. You are a business owner and as such you have to invest in your business. Research the latest network marketing techniques, don't make the mistake of doing what all the other marketers appear to be doing because most of THEM are broke.

What can stimulate your interest to pursue your dream?When I think back on ways I got self motivated when I felt in a slump and just couldn't get started it boils down to one thing for me...Re-igniting my vision for life. As a singer/songwriter and keyboardist I get very pumped up watching other very successful individuals with the same talents. Suddenly my vision comes alive I start revisiting the passions of my youth in music, my dreams and my goals.Expose yourself to success articles, stories and people who are doing what you'd like to do.Maybe you're saying I don't know what I want to do, I have so many ideas. Everyone has a purpose for life, a reason for your being here. Do the following: Stop what you're doing : )Close your eyes and try to revisit a time in your childhood before you were conditioned by the thoughts of others and their desires for your life (about age 8 - 10) what were your dreams, what gave you great joy, fulfillment?Can you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up?What is it that you enjoy doing that if you weren't paid a dime you would still findyourself committed to it?Open your eyes : ) Write it down.What three things are hindering you from accomplishing your dream.Is it money? Develop a plan to increase your income. Eliminate the money vacuums. (i.e. eating out everyday? Going to the grocery store everyday instead of developing a menu to save time, gas and money?) or a Latte everyday?Is it your health? What are your eating habits? Have you been to the doctor lately for a physical and follow-up.Do you exercise daily. A little goes a long way, just start!Is it education? Don't limit yourself because of this, however, you can assess the education that is necessary to fulfill your dreams. The winner's creed is a very powerful statement about our thought life.Whatever you think about yourself, situation or life is what you become.See yourself successful. Go to your local Community College and find out if they provide such services to the general public, many of them do. If you are interested in going to college, but you’re worried about the cost of childcare or tuition, know that college is very much a realistic option for single moms. Yes! they said you couldn't make it this far. Your business will fail. You will be back. You will not win. The people who are near and dear to you are also included in this negative talk. The so called friends; the ones you ask to attend the meetings with you and all of a sudden they had a prior engagement. Have you heard these words before. Galatians 6:7bWhen I read those two scriptures, I get very excited about giving. I mean uncontainable excitement and guess what, I am not even thinking about financial giving. It seems sometimes we get stuck there - believing the only way we can give is with money. This means if we don't have any money, we may feel that we have nothing to give.However, there are so many other ways to give. Matter of fact, giving should be a part of your lifestyle. It should be something that you do so freely and regularly that it's just a natural part of who you are.So you ask, "How can I give something other than money?"You can give of your time by serving in a ministry within the 4 walls of your church or even volunteering with an organization in your community. Going even further than that, make sure you are giving your time to your family. Don't always give the best of you to everyone else and only give your family your leftovers.You can give of your heart and compassion to those that may simply need someone to talk to, or a shoulder to cry on or someone to pray with them. Sometimes giving of your heart may be sharing an encouraging word or even a simple hug or hello to a stranger.Of course, you can also give of your money - in addition to your regular tithes and offering - you can give to some of the special projects your church may be working on. You can give to that youth trying to save money to go study abroad. You can give to that family down the street that may be struggling due to someone being laid off. You can give to your local homeless shelter or children's hospital ...Needless to say, daily we are presented with opportunities to give - lets all make an effort to give something of ourselves daily until it becomes a lifestyle. I guarantee you will find out what it means to be blessed to be a blessing!

From time to time I will spotlight the books of Black Authors featured on Black Writers Connect. Today's spotlight book is 'LOVE, IS, THE BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMAN' by Vernon Davis. It is a tribute to all Black Women featuring a collection of Vernon's poetry. Vernon J. Davis jr. has been writing poetry since the early seventies. He was first inspired by Langston Hughes''s poem "Impasse", which started his journey and adventure into the world of poetry and the spoken word. As a black woman I often feel bombarded by the negativity and divisions between black men and women, so it's refreshing to see a positive piece of literature by a black man in appreciation of black women.
