Most folks would never tell you about the
skeletons in their closet in fear that you
might judge them.

Well here's my truth.....

For 10 years of my life I struggled with
addiction and alcoholism.

I lived mostly on the streets and in abandoned
cars and houses.

I had a daughter at the age of 16 and was
separated from her when she was 5.

I felt empty inside and never thought I
would get to experience life the way
'normal' people do.

I was a victim of my own thinking and
bad decision making.

And, I....

...on more than one occasion, almost lost my
life by way of being in the wrong place at the
wrong time.

However, in February of 2008 I reached a
bottom I had never experienced before.

I was empty on the outside.....

.....and empty on the inside.

I took a risk, and crawled my way into a room
where I knew a man and asked him to help me
save my life.

And he did.

After massive personal transformation, 4 years
passed and a little blood, sweat and tears......

......I've managed to stay completely clean and
sober and turn my life around full circle.

I've fought to get my family back, including
the most important person in my world.....

....my eleven year old daughter.

I'm actually about to run out the door and have
a 'dedicated daddy night' with her and grab some
pizza :)

I found love.....

....and plan to spend the rest of my life with
Erin,  my girlfriend, who has also helped me
save my life.

Not to mention when I first started this whole
online marketing thing just over 2 years ago......

Hope, in essence is “the big promise” – the Great Solution as I talk about in the Million Dollar Equation, in this case, of a better life, because of You, your business, whatever it is you offer.  Whatever you sell, you have to articulate, allow the customer to experience it and have vision of it as providing much greater impact on their life than just “features and benefits”.

You are selling what they wish they could have.

Belonging, is about being a part of something bigger than oneself.  I have two clients who do this, actually three, marvelously.

But Customers and Clients of theirs sell “movement” “cult” “private group” they sell status.  Customers don’t want to just be another customer.  They want to be a part of something, if you make this possible, they’ll do whatever you say.

This can be by membership, secret handshake, loyalty programs, etc  But, the greater the extreme you can take this, the better.

I do it with the Million Dollar Equation Members.  Only serious entrepreneurs allowed.  The ones that are, stay, others we run off.

Anticipation, is all about “What’s Next” and giving them something to look forward to.  As many Entrepreneurs also fall victim to BSOS, or Bright Shiny Object Syndrome – so do Customers.  They want the next, the new, the better, the improved, the different, etc –

As example, cell phones, iphones, and on and on.

Events work great.  Sales promotions.New special things.

You can never do enough of this.  And you can never make it too hyped, you can never promote it too much. One of my friends and mentors in the martial arts industry says “promote the event until you think it is ridiculous, then DOUBLE IT”

If you grasp the importance of these 3 secrets, they will make you rich, and your customers will love you more because of them.

So, this brings me to Thursday, which I don’t have time to elaborate on.  I’ll just say that one of the most powerful ways to exploit these 3 secrets is through what I call – The Million Dollar Equation.

Today has been a very interesting day and it’s only noon! What I did was I went on some of my websites and I offered a pair of my handcrafted earrings at as “today’s freebie” well I really didn’t expect any replies…wow was I wrong! After posting that, within 1 hour someone responded and snagged a free pair of earrings I was offering. Networking is hardly a new idea in the business community. However, in the current economic climate, networking is more important than ever. Female entrepreneurs often underestimate the importance of networking. It is easy to imagine a male business person actively selling their business to anyone who will listen.

Women often shy away form this kind of behavior because they do not want to seem like they are boasting or over selling their accomplishments and abilities. The opposite is often true: They may, in fact, be under selling themselves. Good morning!

I'm sharing what I'm up to with continuing my dynasty.

03 December 2011, 5 Loaves and 2 Fish, (our home-based dessert catering service), will be showcasing tasty treats at the Holiday Bazaar in Raleigh, North Carolina!

I am currently working towards the completion of "My Heart Speaks...of Boys and a Girl," the 2nd installment of the series.  The goal is to have it submitted to Mocha Writer, editor, by 30 November 2011; would anyone care to be that "push?"

Networking and connecting in real life has been so motivating and I am looking forward to doing more.

Look back to your 2011 New Year resolutions and see what you've stuck to, accomplished or still working on. Remember to stay motivated in all you're doing. If the business ideas you had at the beginning of the year, still aren't in fruition, 'put yourself in drive' and do all you can to have it up by the beginning of 2012. Look at the goals you set for yourself and your business and do all you can to accomplish one of them by the end of 2011. You still have time! Celebrate this unique day in reflection and remember, YOU have to make a move to see change.
