Plan, and very time you achieve your goal, plan AGAIN!!  Just imagine the possibilities!!!

Now as I was typing the above, I came to the realization I'm probably doing 1 or 2 of the action items listed;  but all of them???  "Really, Sylvia???? ...then how can you preach to the choir?!?!" Okay.. ok .. you're right!!!  I can't; but I tell you one thing, I'm NOT giving up.  I've had my dark days... and sistah ... I can write a novel!! What I have right now, in this very timeline of my life is a made up mind that as I continue to ride the waves of life that are coming at me; I will take my stand for who and what God created me to be (healthy, prosperous, successful, resourceful ... the list goes on); and trust Him for where He's taking me.

I was reading in a book the other day where the author mentions he's at the beach with his young son.  He spent some time convincing his son that playing in the shallow part of the ocean wasn't fun as going out a little deeper in the ocean.  He was finally able to convince his little boy to start wading in the deeper water.  While standing behind his son; he convinced him he would be there and nothing would happen to him.  The little boy would hold his hands high above his head and the father would be there to hold his hands tightly if anything were to happen.   The big wave would come, and as it approached his little boy, the father would jerk him up by the hands...high enough that the water didn't even touch his chest, face or ears. (The little boy was fearful of water getting in his ears.)  This little one was so happy that the water never touched his face that he was convinced he was now a "wave jumper."  This is the place I'm in right now.  God DID NOT bring me this far for nothing.  He's been there holding me by my hands every step of the way; even though at times I lacked the faith to believe in what I was doing or in myself. 

OK...so now I can add the 6th "P"... "Powerful" = we are created in God's image/likeness & He is definitely POWERFUL!!!  As I'm encouraged by this story.... please be encouraged as well!!!  We'll soon be approaching another new year of GREAT possibilities.  The internet and technology is moving quickly and I've got to be "proactive" (hands-on).   I'm starting at ground zero; but I'm visioning an empire.  With a made up mind and determination in my heart to trust God and the talents He has given me; I can't lose!!!

The journey begins ...  Thanks LaShanda for being obedient to your calling!!

For years I have been following and listing three things: African American Comics, Black Super Heroes, and multicultural books for African American Children. New to me and recently added to our featured Blacks Books rotation is the Fearless Five, a child super hero concept based on a team of young, black children spending their free time using their imaginations in creative play. The first product to come out of this concept is a five-book series, targeted for pre-K to 3rd grade children. The book series offers up world-class artwork and exciting storylines coupled with positive themes around teamwork, determination, self-esteem, caring for others and caring for the environment.
