Receiving Through Giving.

We all know what scripture says about giving and tithing. But I learned a lesson yesterday that it is not always about giving money. For the last two months, I have found myself giving my business away. I know, pretty strange during times like these. But now that I think back, everytime I referred a customer to another insurance company where they received more coverage for less money, they all thanked God and said it was a blessing. There was a point, when I referred one of my favorite clients that I said to myself, Lord I am giving all of my business away. But I then felt in my spirit it was the right thing to do. So I have continued to do it. Not feeling guilty, but feeling glad that I am able to help someone save money and protect themselves more.Well yesterday, I received my numbers for new business that came from corporate. And it indicated that for the last 60 days, my office has written the most new business in my district. This made me smile. Because it showed me that with my obedience to look after other people and not be selfish, I trusted that God would take care of me and He did. This is just another way God "winks" at us. And I am thankful to Him for it. And of course it has encouraged me to continue to do the right thing when it comes to business as well.Just wanted to share this.Stay encouraged.

Allow the goodness

Allow the goodnessWhatever you allow to hold you back will hold you back. Whatever you allow to push you forward will push you forward. There are many factors, circumstances and influences that will flow through your life. Whether each one is a liability or an asset is, for the most part, up to you.Great disappointments and tragedies can arise out of seemingly perfect situations. And magnificent achievements can come from desperate, seemingly hopeless conditions. What matters most is not the nature of your situation. What matters most is what you take from it and what you do with it.Even in places and pursuits where others may have failed, you have the opportunity to succeed. Even those factors that may have held others back can be your motivation to move forward. Many things may seem inevitable, and yet most things are really not. No matter what life may send your way, choose to use it in a positive, productive and valuable manner.Allow the goodness, the abundance, the joy, and they will be.Be Blessed, Terri

What About Your Future?

My plan for your futurehas always been filled with hope.Jeremiah 29:1111 For I know the plans I have for you,? declares the LORD, ?plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (NIV Bible)

We live in a world that sometimes seems void of hope. Wars, famine, pollution, recessions, etc. can cause us to become easily discouraged when we look at the prospects of our future. Discouragement can lead to depression, and depression can lead to hopelessness. When we are feeling hopeless, we see our circumstances and surroundings through a filtered lens that can cause us to continue to spiral downwards in our emotions and our attitudes. In this devotional scripture, God says that He has a plan for you, a plan that will prosper you and not to harm you, a plan that will give you hope and a future. While the economy may be saying one thing to us, God is saying another. While your circumstances may cry out hopelessness, God is saying that He has a plan to prosper and not to harm you. While we don’t know what the future does hold, we know who holds the future. We can trust in the goodness of God to care for us in the midst of situations that seem hopeless. Our hope is not in our circumstances, but in God our Father. That does not necessarily mean that life will always turn out the way we expected, but it does mean that we can always trust in our Father to love us and watch over us. If we commit our lives into His care, we are guaranteed from an everlasting perspective, that we will have an incredible future filled with hope awaiting us, that will last forever.PRAYERFather, I thank You that You have a plan for me that is filled with hope and a future. I know that You have plans to prosper me and not to harm me. I need not fear and I need not despair for you are in control of my life. Help me to commit my life to You, trusting in Your faithfulness to accomplish all that You have promised to do. In the name of Your beloved Son Jesus I pray, AMEN.Shalom,CandaceCANDACE HOUSE Ministries

The Wrong Short Sale House Might Not Ever CloseWhen you spot a short sale house that interests you, take your hand off the mouse and step away from the computer. Before you get all excited over the prospect of buying that short sale house, pick up the phone and call your real estate agent. Your agent needs to research that short sale listing first. In some real estate markets, fewer than one in 10 short sales close. Just because that home is listed as a short sale doesn't mean it's really for sale (because it's subject to lender approval), nor does it .......the rest of the article can be found on my blog http://shortsales-yllong.blogspot.com/God Bless

Color Me Beautiful

Did you know that your underwear speaks volumes about the person you are or would like to be? With so many styles out there, whether it’s Roza or Ed Hardy Intimates it’s possible to find the perfect underwear that you feel truly good in. But it’s not just the style that creates effect but the color too. Nickii’s Boutique offers a range of styles and colors from esteemed USA and European designers. What does your underwear color choice say about you?White is clean and fresh, but it also shows a desire to make an impact and an attention to detail. For the ultimate in girly glamour, pink is the shade to choose. Pink lace and floral print lingerie isfeminine, gentle and sweet as sugar but pink can be racy too if you go for a hot shade of fuchsia.Purple is a great color for every femme fatale. If you’re shy about your body, purple is ideal as it harmonizes well with any skin tone and has a slimming effect. Lilac projects confidence and individuality and can create an aura of elegant seduction.More conservative? Then blue is the color to go for. Mid-blue projects an image of you as devoted, faithful and trustworthy. Make sure your choice isn’t too plain or you may appear boring or predictable! To achieve an irresistible air of mystery, opt for silk in a rich midnight hue.Black portrays a mysterious and sophisticated image. Perfect for a hot date straight from work, it’s a color you’ll feel sexy and self-assured in. If you want to turn up the heat a little, choose a sheer black underwear set. Sheers and satins are the height of fashion this spring/summer so you’ll look sassy and alluring in an electric combination.Red is the color most men opt for when choosing underwear for their wives or girlfriends. With that in mind, why not show your fiery side in a color that screams sex appeal! But, to guarantee you carry off the sex siren look to maximum effect, be sure to buy the right red to suit you. If you have an olive skin-tone, stick to the brownerreds like tomato red. For the fair-complexion, try the blue-based or cherry tones like a cerise or strawberry color.Warm pink would be an alternative for a softer look. If you’re dark skinned, the deepest reds are the best for you. Those of you with dark hair and pale skin can go all out in pillar-box red. If you fancy the drama of red but don’t feel fully comfortable in such an assertive, confident and exciting color, why not opt for black with a hint of red for a sexy but subtle look.

Our Prize

We’ve taken our eyes off the prize. Our gifts. Our babies. Our children. Our future. For too long. Far too long. Far too lost.Far too many, too far gone.Today, the things that matter most to our youth shouldn’t.And the ones who should matter most, don’t.The things they want to be, they’ll never see.The things they should see, they’ll probably never be.Why?Because, we’ve taken our eyes off the prize. So tomorrow, it’s time to reclaim our young generation.I know it’ll be hard. I know it will be tough. We’ll have to reach way down to get to them. To a dark place where demons of media, society, environment and so-called friends dwell. And loom large. And when we get to our children, it’ll be just as hard to lift them up to see the light. To take them from where they are, to where they need to go to grow. We’ve taken our eyes off the prize. So now, we’ll have to fight for and with our own babies. And, sometimes, some of us will get beaten. Some of us will give up. Many of us have. But I know I’m not afraid or alone. For when it’s time to battle, I will stand tall next to three warriors, rather than cower beside 300 cowards. And when I’m fighting all those damn demons, I’ll get weary. But find courage and strength I’ll need in others. So every day, and every tomorrow, I will fight. And focus. On my vision of a better world and way for my babies. And our children. While never taking my eyes off the prize.R. 5 Keys to Selling Your Services

Here’s some insight to an online building industry video I viewed recently. Builder magazine editorial director, Boyce Thompson, interviewed William Kraeger, principal at Mithun, on how the architecture firm sells its clients on sustainable design. This interview was only two minutes and 40 seconds, but it spoke volumes about marketing professional services, whether green building or some other market niche. Here are five key points from the brief segment:1. Study the trends. Mithun foresaw that the housing industry and the country were moving toward urbanity, innovation and sustainability. In business, it’s vital that you monitor the pulse of your industry, understanding what’s valuable to the majority of your clients, and paying attention to the work of your colleagues and competition.2. Find a niche you can believe in. Mithun decided to focus only on sustainable, contemporary work. It was a market they studied, one in which they excelled, and something in which they wanted all of their employees to take part.3. Stick to your guns. Even though some of Mithun’s clients were not yet ready to hop on the green building bandwagon, the design firm did not compromise their mission. Leaving the lines of communication open, clients were informed that they could call the firm when they were ready to move forward with sustainable ideas.4. Get clients to market for you. After moving into a newly constructed Seattle residential project designed by Mithun, owners were so pleased with their new homes that they began blogging about living there and inviting their friends to move, too. Satisfied customers pass on good news.5. Never stop learning. Kraeger says that this is an “exciting, intimidating, ‘goose-bumpy’ time.” It’s important to stay current on emerging technology and marketing trends in order to keep in contact with current and potential clients. Communication and publicity methods are changing continuously.© Copyright – Karen A. Davis. Written by TNGI was late to Class as usual and because I was late, I had to take a seat in the very back of the lecture hall. The professor had already begun his daily lecture so I eased in and took a seat. In that very seat, there was an opened journal or notebook. I didn’t want to interrupt anyone so I just picked it up and immediately flipped to the very front to see if a Name or address was located it in, but the very first page stated: I LEFT THIS FOR YOU.I am sitting here like ME? Anyone that knows me, know that I am very nosey, so yes, I began to read. Forget the lecture today, I was late anyhow!“I left this for you to read because I am at a point of no return in my life. Don’t bother to look for me because you will not find me. Do not alert the professor or anyone that you think may know me, because what I have done has already been done. When I first started college, I was ecstatic because I would be leaving the small town that I lived in. For 5 years, my brother, raped, sodomized and mentally abused me. I didn’t have anyone that I could turn to or talk with. I was scared that no one would believe me. So I have lived with that secret and torment for years. When I finally received the acceptance letter stating that I had been accepted to a University, I was thinking: YES, finally a way out! So I ran from that problem and never dealt with it.I started school Fall Semester and I made friends really quick. My roommate and I were inseparable. She was the sister that I never had and always wanted. I started working and because I needed a car to get back and forth, I started a savings. I hid all of my money in a shoe box in my closet. No one would knew about this money, except my roommate. I saved all of my paychecks and by the end of the semester, I had enough for a decent car and Christmas gifts. While packing for Winter break, I noticed that my shoe box was gone. I was thinking maybe I hid it from myself and I just couldn’t remember exactly where I placed it. After calling my roommate’s cell phone a dozen times with no answer, it finally seemed real. She left a day early with my shoebox. And I haven’t seen her since.Devastated from that, I ran to my boyfriends’ dorm room to tell him what happened. This guy was really sweet and was nothing like my brother. I shared with him what had happened to me and he told me that he would never hurt me. We dated and he became my everything. I thought I was in love. Well, I walked into him receiving oral sex from the Campus whore. With a missed period and a possibility of being 6 weeks pregnant without any money, I went into an instant state of depression.I didn’t know where I was going, but I just started walking. I thought about slitting my wrist but then I considered that would be severely painful; why live hell on earth and die in pain? Then I thought about purchasing pain killers but I didn’t have any money. After thinking of so many different ideas to end my life, I finally ended up at a church. I must have stumbled upon choir rehearsal and I heard the most angelic voice uttering these words:Why should I feel discouragedWhy should the shadows comeWhy should my heart feel lonelyAnd long for heaven and homeWhen Jesus is my portionA constant friend is HeHis eye is on the sparrowAnd I know He watches over meHis eye is on the sparrowAnd I know He watches meI sing because I'm happyI sing because I'm freeHis eye is on the sparrowAnd I know He watches me (He watches me)His eye is on the sparrowAnd I know He watchesI know He watchesI know He watches me…Instantly I killed myself. And I didn’t jump off of a bridge or participate in anything that would physically harm me or my child.I accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of my life and killed that old girl inside.I let all of the pain, hurt, and disappointments go.I did not allow emotions to lead my decision.I realized that hurt is an emotion and it is designed to keep you down.I did not want Hurt Feelings to rule my life any longer. Before moving on I had to resolve those Hurt feelings by letting it go.I dismissed what people did to me and realized that my response to all the hurt I went through was me growing through life.I forgave all of the people that hurt me and my healing came through giving and ministering to others. That is why you are reading my Diary. Agape love is selfless. The love of God is unconditional. And I have learned that when you love it means to seek out someone else’s well being without regard for yourself,I hope this diary helps you. Maybe there are some things that you need to figure out in your life. God sent this message to you for a reason. Pass this book on. Allow this story to change others.Sincerely,The Girl Who Committed Suicide

When I was laid off from my job in November of last year, I got exactly what I wanted; and that was to be unemployed. I could barely pay my bills. My debt was increasing because I had to use my credit cards as a resource to help sustain and I was so unhappy about the structure of the department and the company. I used to tell my girlfriends, "I am so miserable working, I really want to do my own thang!" SO when the opportunity presented itself, I was sort of afraid of it. But once I thought about all of the free time that I would have to work on the projects that I had been procrastinating against for at least one year, my attitude changed. I picked my self up, applied for assistance, and left everything up to my number one source: God.The systematic way of living is not only modern day slavery for most, but it keeps individuals in debt and in bondage for most of their life. I can't speak for many, but I can use myself as a prime example. I went to a four-year university for my Bachelor's degree in Management and a two-year online university for my Masters. Once my adult life begun, I had already started it in a huge amount of debt due to student loans. Because I thought living the so-called "American Dream" involved purchasing a home, my fiancé and I decided to invest. That added more debt to my already growing heap of bills. I learned really early that credit cards weren't the way to go but I did have three major credit cards that I used religiously. And by the time it was all said and done, I had reached the limit on all of them! With a combined salary, credit card bills and student loans, we were not going to get out of debt and I saw myself sinking further and further in sinking sand. I was unhappy because of my situation and my mind was so cloudy with the issues of life, I forgot all about whom I should be talking to about my problems. Working daily just to pay bills was not what I envisioned for my life and I had to do something about it QUICK! Education is vital and so is investing but I wish I had planned my life a little better instead of just going with the flow of the systematic way of living. What is the “systematic way of living?” It is typically for the average American; being born; going to elementary, middle and high school with no worries; being sent off to college for about four to seven years; finally getting into the work force with worries of being successful, advancements, and debts; getting married; purchasing a home; raising a family; and working for about 30-40 years until retirement. The cycle is continuous and helps the economy with cash flow and jobs.November 8, 2008 is when I had an epitome. I looked at all of my accomplishments and what I could do to help myself out of the situation I was in and that's when I learned the power of prayer, accountability, and unwavering faith. I am the Co-Founder of a community-based organization that I so desperately want to give my all. I am a self-proclaimed writer. I am the Queen of Consulting and had professional training while in undergrad to help small businesses start their own business. I actually wrote my own business plan for a small business that I was apart of. I thought to myself, I am sitting on all of these talents, knowledge and training. BUT WHY AM I JUST STTING ON THEM!!!??? Why was I taking the long road when I have the opportunity to make my life much simpler and less complicated? Why would I even consider working 30-40 years for an annual salary of maybe $100,000-$250,000 (and only retire with this amount) when there is so much more out there for my family and I? What is keeping me from living my dreams? Why am I afraid of what I asked for?”People the time is now to get out there and make your dreams a reality. I don’t believe the hoopla of the economy being in a recession. Because I am a citizen directly affected by what’s going on, however, I am not. My lights, water, cable (movie channels included), and Internet, have not been disconnected. My home is not in foreclosure. I have not filed for bankruptcy, and will not by the way. And I am not employed! So what is this telling you?You can survive. No matter what it looks like to others. Figure out what you love to do. What is your passion? What is it that you would do even if you weren’t paid what you wanted to be paid but still happy and content doing? What gives you an adrenaline rush? What can you do better than most without schooling, training, or practice? Do you know a market that is untapped that you can tap into and really become successful? There is a story about a wealthy man who had three servants. The wealthy man went away for a long period of time, but he gave one servant a huge amount of money, another servant just enough money, and the last servant only a small portion of what was his. He provided the amount of money to each based on their abilities. He told these three servants to invest this money while he was away. The story goes on to say that the two servants that received the most money invested the money and had received twice the amount that was given to them. But the last servant buried the money, didn’t touch it, and didn’t invest it. He was afraid to take risks. He was complacent and pessimistic about what could possibly happen. Well the wealthy man returns to his servants and was expecting great news from the three servants but was really anxious to see what the servants did to increase the money that he provided them. When he saw that his first two servants not only made more money than he anticipated, but made a huge profit, he allowed them to enjoy with him the increase. The third servant thought that he did the right thing by just holding on to what was given to him and was excited to be able to give back the money. The wealthy man could not believe that the servant wasted time, did not make a profit, and was disappointed that the servant did not have enough sense to put the money in a bank to just gain interest. Because the servant did not invest or put the money to use, the wealthy man took the money back from him, gave it to the servant who he gave the most money to, and explained to him the importance of utilizing your gifts, talents, and resources to advance in life. He also fired him and wanted nothing to do with him because he felt that the servant was lazy. The third servant began with nothing, and because of his lack of hopefulness, he ended up with nothing.Fifty percent of the world is like the third servant. They hold on to everything they get instead of investing it into something that is going to make a better life for them or someone else. They are ambiguous. They refuse to be risk takers. They are afraid of the “what ifs.” Are you that person? Well, if you are, I am here to say you don’t have to be. I am on my way out of debt and when God see that you are utilizing your gifts or talents to help increase or be of service to others, he always makes provision for you. Don’t be afraid to take your knowledge and talents to the next level.
