different from what so many teach on – the stereotyped housewife occupied with
dirty dishes and laundry, her daily life dictated by the demands of her husband
and her children. Nor do we find a hardened, overly ambitious career woman who
leaves her family to take care of themselves. And now lining it up with today’s
independent woman we don’t find her so independent that she doesn’t consider
the wisdom of God.
If you look closely you’ll find a strong,
dignified, multi-talented, caring woman who is an individual in her own right.
This woman has money to invest, servants to look after and real estate to
manage. She is her husband’s partner, her children’s’ nurturer and teacher, and
she is completely trusted with the responsibility for the family’s lands,
property and goods.
She has acquired the business skills to buy and
sell in the market, along with the heartfelt sensitivity and compassion to care
for and fulfill the needs of people who are less fortunate. She is not one to walk away from challenges of life but with pleasure and

teaches her children the ways of her Father in heaven. She nurtures her
children with the love of Christ, disciplines them with care and wisdom, and

4. Health – A Queenly
Proverbs Woman adheres to the scripture that states her body is the temple of
Holy Spirit and cares for her body. She prepares healthy food for her family

Genesis 1: 29, Daniel 1, Leviticus 11)

Joshua David Gardner Memorial Scholarship Endowment
The Joshua David Gardner Memorial Scholarship Endowment Inc., was established in June 2007 to provide scholarships to undergraduates attending historically black colleges and universities.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:
Open to United States citizens (ages 17-25) who are admitted or enrolled in an accredited four-year historically black college or university in the United States with a minimum grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.0/4.0. Official Academic transcripts from high school or an accredited four-year college or university; Student must be seeking a bachelor’s degree or certificate of completion from an accredited institution and be a full-time or part-time student. Must provide an acceptance letter from the higher learning institution you are planning to attend.
Students should have ACT score of 19 or SAT score of 1000.Unofficial copies are acceptable
Three letters of reference must be submitted, one from an academic reference, attesting to the applicant’s character, leadership ability, and academic ability.
A 500 word essayon the topic of “The importance of personal integrity for leaders.”
A completed application form. There are no major or field of study criteria or requirements Funds must be used for tuition, fees, and/or books Scholarship funds are not renewable Number of Awards: At least a one-time $2,000 scholarship will be awarded annually.
Applications are accepted October 30, 2011 to April 30, 2012. Selected awardees will be notified in writing by May 2012. Awards will be disbursed directly to the institution of higher education on or before
August 1, 2012.

DC Youth Needs Funds to Study in France
(Washington, D.C.) Born to a teenage mother and growing up in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Washington, D.C., Kenice Griffin was not allowed to use her disadvantages as an excuse. She lived by the quote, “Excuses are the tools of the incompetent and those who specialize in them will not succeed.”
With love and support from her family and community, she recently graduated from St. Augustine's College in Raleigh, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She also has studied in China and Costa Rica as an undergraduate.
These experiences have led her to the next step in her journey. Kenice has been accepted to Grenoble Graduate School of Business in France to earn her master’s degree in International Business.
“I am very grateful to have an opportunity to study aboard” said Kenice. “Grenoble’s curriculum is a little challenging, but I am willing to work hard to get to where I want to be. I also want to be an example to other youth that with the right attitude and determination, you can determine your future.”
Kenice begins classes in January next year in France. However, she still needs to cover the expenses of classes, books and housing. Kenice’s family has been requesting donations from relatives and friends, but need more help.
“Our family needs your help,” states Kenice’s mother. “We have exhausted all of funds to prepare for her departure and we are seeking help because we don’t want to deny her this great opportunity. We want to plant a seed into Kenice’s future.”
In honor of her accomplishment, Kenice’s family will be hosting a reception in mid December. It will also be an opportunity for the community to make donations towards her college expenses. Do you know what QRS and Short (Text) codes are? I'm going to explain then for the non techies as they are the best marketing tools going. Both have a greater open rate than email. Lets start with QR codes or Quick Response codes. These are scannable bar codes just like the grocery store that you embed pieces of info about your business. The main thing I want you to take away is that they are good for business because the world is increasingly using their mobile phones for everything. You need to put your QR code on everything. Folks are more likely to respond to qr code or text messaging them to any other medium. You know yourself that you'll respond to a text message even as you ignore emails.
Short codes are five or six digit numbers that you assign a word to so that customers can text to receive information , discounts and promotions about your business. The short codes are expensive so many use a service like I do to get your text word assigned. The word assigned to your short codes are those one word advertising messages you are accustomed to using to receive discounts for fast food. Yes, you can use them for business. Text messages are great because you can also add your location and once someone is on your text list if they're near your shop they can receive a text giving them a discount or info on specials you are having.

Last year I started a company, Women Empowerment. This company was suppose top kick off with a dinner, but it never happen. I felt like a failure because I had speakers line up and had to call them to cancel. I made a promise to myself that this year would not go pass without me having this dinner and getting Women Empowerment where I want it. On this Saturday 12-10, my dream will become reality. I am so excited about this event. The mission of Women Empowerment is to inspire, educate, and connect women. I am so proud of myself.
