A membership subscription website is an exclusive space in which people pay you for the ability to access your content, which is usually articles, audio, video, eBooks, and other forms of digital media. Membership websites are generally built on social networking or blogging platforms so that you can either build a space for your members to interact among themselves or a space in which you can easily showcase frequently updated content.

Generally speaking, the kinds of membership subscription websites that are most successful are either highly entertaining or very informative. If you are going to create one, focus on connecting a specific target audience to valuable information that’s either hard for them to find via search engines or non-existent. If you can create a membership subscription website filled with valuable, in-demand content, people will pay you for the privilege of access.

There are a ton of different products and services online that you can use to build your own membership subscription website. The most popular product of them all is aMember Professional, a flexible membership and subscription management PHP script. It has support for PayPal, 2Checkout, Authorize.Net and other payment systems. You can easily track your members and send them updates via email or auto-responders. Moreover, you and your members can easily modify their account settings using the automated payment systems. You can purchase aMember professional for less than $200, but if you’re on a very small budget, it’s not your own option.

You can also create your own membership subscription website on ‘build your own social network’ platforms like ning.com and socialgo.com. Both of these services allow you to easily create your own space, for free, without knowing html or needing programming skills. Each service also offers paid premium features that you can use to enhance your website, but only Socialgo.com has a built in subscription setup feature and ning.com does not. If you opted to use ning.com, you would have to manually create a subscription program by combining a payment system like (Paypal) with your Ning network. The downside of using a free platform like Ning is that you would have to manually update member cancellations and upgrades.

If you are interested in profitable ways to generate residual income online, creating your own membership subscription website is an opportunity worth looking into. Just keep in mind that if you do decide to build your own space, you have to focus on giving people what the pay for. Aside from making a profit, your first priority should always be building quality content and creating a loyal following online. That is the only way you’ll be able to effectively market and maintain a successful membership subscription website.

Example Membership Subscription Websites that I have created:

  1. Social Media Sistas
  2. Web Tech Gurl
  3. Business Women of Color

Are you at 8,000 yet?

8000-black-business-women A few months ago while I was approving the newest members on my social network, Black Business Women Online, and I realized we had officially reached the 8,037 member mark ... now close to 9,000 members! I can remember when there were no members, when there were a handful of members and now look where we are. Where are you today? Have you reached your 8,000 .... sales goal, dollar goal, subscribers goal, traffic goal? I just wanted you to take a moment and think about the goals you have set for yourself and how far you have come. My magic numbers for pretty much everything I do are 5,000 and 10,000. In some cases I know I've passed my goals and for others, I've got a ways to go but I'm gonna keep going and so should you! You may or may not know this, but I've gotten this far pretty much on my own, without any real investment capital, sponsors, or direction. I say all that to say that, not having things never stopped me from creating things and getting this far. I've learned so much about stepping out on faith and starting up online and I hope over these past years I've been able to share my knowledge with you. If you want to pick my brain and find out how I built my social following, my buzz, and my business online go grab my Money and Marketing Guide. I'm so excited about reaching 8,000 and helping you reach your goal I've created a new promo code for this guide. It is UMM50OFF. This code will give the first 50 who use it 50$ off the guide. I never thought BBWO could get to 8,000+ members without outside help. I never knew I was going to get quoted in Essence or become a Disney Magical Mocha Mom ... I just knew if I kept learning, growing, and going ... everything would work out. If nothing else, I hope that's something I can help you learn as well. Money and Marketing Guide includes eBooks and Videos on Selling on Social Networks, Finding Customers, Social Media Marketing, and building your buzz online. url: http://ecourses.webtechgurl.com related: audio: Find Out Why Broke is Not an Option … my interview on the Attitude Shift [click here]

How to Avoid Broke Coach Mistake #1

As a web coach I have clients from various industries and many of them just happen to be coaches themselves. One of the main reasons they coaches come to me is because their struggling to attract clients online. Most of them already have a website by the time they get to me, which is good. BUT they're tearing their hair out, trying to figure out, "Why the website isn't bringing in business?" Out of that frustration I discovered: Broke Coach Mistake #1 Where most coaches go wrong is that they direct traffic to a generic coaching page with a big picture of themselves, biography, and prices. Before even establishing a connection with the prospect they take them to a page that screams, “Hey read all about me and what I do and while you’re here, buy my services too. By the way, I don’t really care what your problem is, but if you buy my book I’ll show you how to fix it.” The average coaching website is usually all about the coach as a way to showcase that coach as an experienced professional, but the space you send your prospects to needs to be all about them, not you. That is the kind of poor presentation that leaves most coaches broke and very disappointed with their online presence. The quickest way to fix that mistake is to take your potential clients to a space online that's all about them. A space where you show that you know the questions they want to ask. A space that you already have the answers they are looking for. Let me give you a visual of how this works... in real estate, brokers always tell the sellers to empty the house as much as they can because buyers can not envision themselves living in a space full of your STUFF. The same concept applies to coaching. Am I telling you to completely change your website? No, not at all. I'm actually suggesting that you create another kind of web space that better represents your clients and provides an opportunity for them to build a relationship with you. Creating the right website for coaching clients, attracting clients and avoiding mistakes is exactly what I discuss in my eBook: How to Really Make Money Coaching Online. Without spending a TON of money on advertising or even investing in professional glam shots, I continue to maintain successful coaching programs online by focusing on what my potential clients REALLY want and giving them exactly what they need. If you don't do anything else, I want you to answer one question. Are you a coach, with a great website, a wealth of knowledge, and so much to give, but you have no clients? Don't make the #1 Broke Coach Mistake. Learn from someone with experience in both coaching and marketing online businesses. Click here to download my eBook. Here is a special $10 Off discount code for taking the time to read this article. The Code: EB10OFF. This offer expires after being used by 250 people.

Tis' the season to get married, and many brides are gearing up for their perfect day. You have the dress, the caterer, the flowers and the perfect man, but do you have your BBF (bride's best friend)? Yes, finding the makeup artist is always a difficult task because you want to look absolutely perfect on your special day. Rightly so! Finding the right makeup artist is trial and error, and it may take some time to find someone who gets your vision. But the effort is so worth it. Don't risk it by waiting until the last minute either. I'm sure you have a friend who can "do makeup," but bridal makeup is very different from everyday makeup and should be done to your liking. You should just be able to sit back, relax and enjoy your moment.
Here are some tips on finding your BBF:

1. Go through some magazines and collect at least three looks you may want to try for your wedding. Make sure it's a classic look that you will admire when you look back in 30 years -- nothing trendy and nothing over the top. You want to look like you but better.

2. Take a picture of your dress and your bridesmaids' dresses so you have a canvas to work from. Your dress may have a colored sash or beading that's important for the makeup artist to see.

3. At the trial, be vocal and tell the makeup artist what you like and don't like. She is there to make you feel like the stunning bride you will be. Make sure she tells you what products she's using. Should you decide to book her, make sure it's at least two hours before your big "I do" moment. You don't want to feel rushed and must allow time for other important things like getting into your dress!

This is your big day and you want to look your best. Take your time and find someone who wants the same for you! Feel free to visit my online makeup portfolio to check out my bridal work!
Congratulations!

Feel free to leave a comment. Until next time have a wonderful day!

My Hair Moisturizing Video

Hi everyone the above video is to show the progress that my hair has made since I last showed it to you. I have used nothing on my hair but my products since the big cut, and as you can see my products are doing well. They work very well and give me the results I wish to achieve. Natural hair is very beautiful once you know how to take care of it. As you can see my hair does not have the little balls of hair at the end...if you are seeing this you need to change your products, because your hair is not getting the moisture it needs. And another thing that you should not see is the fuzzy look...you should see either curls or waves not a mixture of fuzz, curls and waves. And this can be caused by the products you may be using, not covering properly at night before bed, using just water to wet the hair and grease. If you are using just water on your natural hair...this is a no no, just water alone will dry your ends (I will post my hair spritzer soon, if you would like to order please send an email to pictureperfecthealth@gmail.com). I mentioned in the video Aloe Vera Gel to put on your hair, aloe vera gel will moisturized your hair almost instantly (make sure to use the one without alcohol and coloring make sure that it is pure). The other product that I use along with the aloe vera gel is the optimum 3 in 1 oil (in the yellow bottle this is a very good products) this works very well in keeping the hair moisturized. Other hair gels makes the hair hard and dry and easy to break. Remember love your hair, and it will love you back. If you have any questions or would like to leave a comment, please feel free to do so.

What's In a Name?

When you think of slogans, what comes to mind? What brand can you recite a slogan for immediately?

Take for example the following slogans that have made their way into the memory of thousands:

  • Just Do It - Nike
  • This Buds for You - Budweiser
  • Have it Your Way! - Burger King
  • We Bring Good Things to Light - GE
  • We'll Leave the Light on For Ya! - Motel 6
  • Zoom! Zoom! - Mazda

Use the six components below to test your slogan and make sure it has what it takes to make it stick.

Difficulty: Average
Time Required: 1 to 3 Hours
Here's How:
  1. Make it Memorable
Your slogan must be memorable. Make it easy to remember, something they want to brand in their memory and possibly even repeat to others. Take for example the above slogans, when you first heard them what was it that made them stick with you?

  2. Key Benefits
Your slogan must contain a key benefit of the product or service. Give them a reason to remember it.

  3. Differentiate Your Brand
It must differentiate your brand. Does it bring out the character of the product or services that sets it apart from your competitors?

  4. Solidify the Brand
It must recall the brand name otherwise who cares who remembers it. The brand can be depicted in the words you use or in the image of your logo.

  5. Rhythm and Rhyme
Create rhythm and rhyme. Does it rhyme? Does it have a ring to it? The rhythm of the tagline will help to stick in the memories of those that read it or hear it.

How to Market Your Business on Facebook

We all used to think Facebook1 was for kids; I'm with you I used to think the same thing as well, but it's time to change our thinking. There are many companies using Facebook to market and seeing success in doing so.

Consider the following statistics provided by O’Reilly Media. Between September 2008 and February 2009...

  • The number of Facebook users between the ages of 35 and 44 increased by 51%
  • Facebook users among the ages 45-54 grew by 47%
  • Facebook users ages 26-34 increased by 26%
  • More than half of the 140 million Facebook users are out of college

As you can see Facebook is no longer for just college students. Why should you use Facebook as a marketing tool? The answer is easy; you can use Facebook to gain new clients, stay in touch with current clients and promote new products and sales offers. You can also use it to create buzz and PR that is specific about your business.

How do you do this? Facebook offers you many tools, to be successful in marketing your business you must have an understanding of these tools. In this article we will look at two in particular:

  • Facebook Pages
  • Facebook Groups

Facebook Pages

Facebook Offers you Facebook Pages2. What does that mean? You can use Facebook Pages to create and give your business their own profile on Facebook; the best thing is right now they are free. These pages give your business an identity on Facebook which strengthens your brand. Current customers or even potential customers can become fans of your page and by doing so this allows them to follow you and receive any updates that you post to your page.

The great thing about Facebook Pages is that every time someone becomes a fan of your page all of their friends see that they have become a "fan." This often attracts other followers as well as creates a buzz regarding your business and of course your Facebook Page.

You can use your Facebook Page to not only share your company information, but you can also use it to post photos, videos, applications and messages. Any activity that you perform on your Facebook Page is then broadcast into the mini-feeds of your followers.

When creating your Facebook Page, there are things to keep in mind. You will be given a choice of three options when you start out. You will be asked whether your page is about:

  • A Local Business
  • A Brand or a Product
  • An Artist, Band or a Public Figure

Which are you? Good question. This depends on what you want to promote. Do you want to promote your business locally, do you want to promote your brand or a product or are you working to promote an artist, band or public figure?

Each of these categories will provide you with an opportunity to complete your "basic information", "detailed information" or your "contact information." Each option will provide you with a page that enables you to provide different ways of showing your information. It's important to realize that you cannot edit your page type once you select it, and also remember that the page type that you select will categorize your page with other like pages in that category; this is why you want to make sure you select the correct category to be displayed in.

Your Facebook Page, when done correctly can be used to bring in new customers as well as to help you maintain current customer relationships.

Facebook Groups

Facebook Groups, carry a similarity to Facebook Pages, the difference is they are built around a group of people rather than your business or your brand. You must be a member of Facebook to create a Facebook Group. In order to create a group just login to Facebook and then click on the Groups link in the main menu on the left hand side of the page.

You can use Facebook Groups to create awareness, but they do not have the feature that allows users to become fans, they only become members. The downfall of this is it will not share as much information with friends of "group" members as they interact with the group.

Which One is Right for You?

The question I hear most when it comes to marketing on Facebook is "Laura, do I need a page or a group?"

The answer depends on the goal you want to achieve with marketing on Facebook. The truth is you will gain more exposure from a Facebook Page, because it can be seen by unregistered users, but a group page can only be seen by registered Facebook users.

Now, that feature alone should make it easy to decide, right? Wrong. You must also consider that when you send a message to Facebook Page members, they will only receive an update notification.

modern-girls-guide-jane-bHave you ever noticed that with age or parental status people automatically assume you know exactly what to do all the time. Even though I’m older and I’ve got mommy status, I’ve had my share of ‘don’t know what to do’ moments. Truth be told, a lot of times I wish I had someone around me who always knew the right thing to do or say, which is why I think the “The Modern Girl's Guide to Sticky Situations” by Jane Buckingham is definitely worth checking out. I’ll be honest with you, when I first glanced at the cover of this book I didn’t think it would have anything in it that I could relate to. There’s a picture of this sassy diva on the cover in a tight black dress, along with high heels and girly clichés that aren’t really me. But I opened the book to a random page and was pleasantly surprised when I glanced at one topic, ‘You really want to buy a house, but don’t know if you can afford it.’ I kept flipping through pages to find other topics like: • Your food is so bland it could be served in a hospital. • You’ve sprouted hairs in very unfeminine places: lip, chin, neck… • Your bra wire is popping out and stabbing your boob • Your boss keeps passing your over for promotions • A colleague always takes credit for your work • You feel you’re always super-generous to everyone, while no one is generous to you • Your boyfriend and your best friend don’t get along And that’s just a small sampling of over 300 pages of real life situations that we all get into and have no clue how to get out of. Sometimes you don’t have someone to help you figure out what to do in sticky situations. Then there are times when you wish you could get alittle guidance without a lot of lip from your mom or your favorite (know-it-all) gal pal, which is when this book definitely comes in handy. I have to say, you should never just a book by its cover! Jane’s new guide is funny, informative, full of situations I can relate to, and definitely worth keeping handy (as you never know when you’ll get into a sticky situation). Want to get a sneak peak? Browse inside the Modern Girl's Guide to Sticky Situations
