What Now?

A multitude of women who want to start a home base business don't know where to begin and those who have started a home base business soon realize the effort it takes and start to wonder is this  really for me. I know it can be frustrating finding something out there. It has happen to most of us in search of our dream business myself included. Why does it happen? Well, it happens for a number of reasons. First, there are so many direct selling businesses now and you don't know which to choose from. Secondly, you may have been coerce into joining one by a friend or family member who became involved in one; you know you just didnt want  to say no and now your judging all home businesses especially network marketing businesses with a proverbial frown. Lastly, you keep putting it off hoping and wishing one day you will win the lottery and while that may happen the odds are against it. Yet, if  you are a women who  still have a burning desire to start on your entrepreneurial path because you want more freedom, income and you want to live your life on purpose....what now?

Stop and take a moment to think, slowly take a deep breath and blow it all out. Yes, go ahead do it right now.... Its important to pause and gather your thoughts. Now, think about what sets your passion off and think about what you truly and purposely love to do. It may not be popular or what your girlfriend is doing but, it's what comes natural to you. Can you recall doing or getting involve in something that someone else thought was in your best interest but after the first meeting your like... this is so not for me! I certainly can relate to that. Think about it; whats your happy factor? What makes you smile? What can you talk about all day while being yourself? What comes natural to you? What do you love to do now that you can parlay into earning a part time income? More importantly, in what ways can you  be of service to others? Answer these questions and see what you come up with; your answers will be unique to you.

In addition, you will be surprise at some of your answers because a home base business may be right around the corner waiting for you to take the first step. It may mimic what you are doing presently which is a perfect match as you branch off into a niche you can call your own. For example, if you are currently a manager with customer service experience you may decide to become an event specialist, virtual assistant for small businesses or health care organizations etc. However,  you are being told by critics  it won't work, its not for you or the " I can't see you doing that" spiel. These critics come around just when you want to intitiate change so do not take advice from them.

Now inretrospect, what you should be doing is what aligns with your passion. For example, if you are passionate about selling turtles to first time pet owners so be it! Ribbit On? The bottom line is there will always be a learning curve in any endeavor one undertakes but the more you love doing what comes natural to you  the more you will experience growth and success.  Contrary to popular belief, the most popular product or service will not market itself without a passionate owner to claim it. So, what now ? Well, for now think of your Passion, Purpose and Practicality; it will move you towards your destination and you will be on your way.

Here's to your success,

Making Your Advertising Personal

No matter what your advertising medium, drive your message home by making it personal. Because nobody wants to buy a product from someone who sounds stuffy and unfriendly.

Write in First Person
Let's say you're in real estate. You're running a print ad for an exclusive neighborhood. Tell your customer the benefits of living there as if you're having a one-on-one conversation.

For example, the body of your copy could read:

You won't have to mow the lawn ever again! All of our properties are right on the beach. A breathtaking view without the hassles of yard work make Grand Island the place you'll want to call home.

Use Contractions
As you've probably noticed, all advertising articles here on the About network contain a lot of contractions. How many I ams and you ares, plus we wills would you like to read over and over?

It's all a part of making it personal. We're just having a friendly conversation about advertising.

Limit Your Commas
It's similar to the contractions rule. Commas everywhere really distract your eye.

Your message gets lost because your reader is trying to make sense out of your sentence. Keep your sentences short enough that you don't require a lot of commas.

And, But, Because
You probably learned back in elementary school that you can't use And, But or Because to start a sentence. Your teachers lied to you. It's perfectly all right to use them to begin a sentence.

Ask your old teacher. She'll probably confess. You were taught that because they didn't want you to make incomplete sentences by using And, But or Because to start a sentence.

And if she doesn't confess - just remember - it's advertising so anything goes!

Eliminate the Pressure
Just pretend you're talking to a friend. One way to make it easier on yourself might be to just forget it.

That's right. Forget that you're writing an ad, your company needs this ad to be successful, etc. Throw out all the pressures and sit down with your computer or legal pad and pen.

Now, write a letter to a friend. Tell your friend about your product. When you're finished, you'll have a lot of copy blocks you can extract and use in your ad. It's a great mental trick that can help in a pinch.

Women, who want to try a bold color without damaging her natural hair, or even try a shorter style without cutting her hair, can achieve it with a bonded weave. A bonded weave is when tracks of hair are glued to your scalp or weave cap, in rows, alternating your natural hair with tracked pieces.

Here are a few tips on how to maintain a bonded weave:

Use light applications of oil to the surface of your natural hair or weave.

Brushing or combing the hair too forcefully can cause you to pull a track out. Instead, use one hand to hold the track in place as you brush or comb that section of hair with your other hand. Continue section by section.

Stay away from Chlorine. This applies for both sew-in weaves and bonded weaves.

Always cover your hair with a satin scarf at night.

Keep a small bottle of hair glue in your purse just in case a track slip.

Feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think. Until next time...Have a wonderful day!

Your Personal Beauty Advisor,

Corinne

mothersdaysparkle.gif

Mother's Day, honorable in the true sense of sacrifices made in building our families, communities. You are a special and remarkable group of Beautiful Mothers who are truly dedicated in giving wisdom, unconditional love, guidance to your families and friends near and beyond. You don't walk away, you stay to catch the fallen and bruised. You give life to everything that cross your path and sometimes just your presence does the trick. I pray your day is filled with celebrations of who you are to so many people who love you on a daily basis.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavour by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. Thanking God For You, May HIS Light Shine Over You Always

Working Mom with MS

Good afternoon ladies,

I am writing this blog as a mother, a professional, and a person with MS. MS is the #1 disabling disease
among young adults in the United. Although the vast majority of people with MS are Caucasians, I growing number are African American women. It sometimes feels like a lonely place to be, but I can do anything...I'm a mom.

In late 2007, I became very ill. I had double vision, numbness on the left side of my face, nausea, extreme fatigue, and lose of balance. As a 27 year old, you can say I was very alarmed by all of these symptoms. After nearly 2 months of being ill, 5 doctors visits, and 1 MRI, I was diagnosed with MS. Not knowing or even hearing of this disease, I went home and started doing research. I found out that MS (or Multiple sclerosis) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. Scary stuff right? Yet I didn’t let those facts keep me from wanting to fight for the hope that my life wouldn’t be that way.

So that leads us today. Today I am still fighting for the cause of raising funds to find a cure for MS. Every year the National MS Society has a walk to raise funds. This funds help people affected by MS by funding cutting edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services designed to help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. Early and ongoing treatment with an FDA-approved therapy can make a difference for people with multiple sclerosis.

This is my third time walking in the MS Walk and 2nd time as team captain of a walk team. I have reached 60% of my personal fund raising goal this year of $300. And nearly 35% of my team goal of $1000. If I meet this small goal I would have raised more than I have in the past 2 years combined. So what can you do? You can help me help the National MS Society raise the funds needed to continue to fight this disabling disease. Nearly 80% of the money you give support programs, services and research for MS.

Giving is very easy to do. Just visit http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/kiarawright to donate and to learn more about my story.

Thank you so much!

P.S. Donations are tax deductible.

Teacher Appreciation Day is recognized May 4, during Teacher Appreciation Week which runs May 3-7. The whole week is dedicated to celebrations, and recognition from administrators, and Parent Teacher Associations (PTA).
There is traditionally a day of exchange between students and teachers. Students look forward to this event as most wish for the chance at becoming teacher/principal for the day. This is a time of the year we make time to show appreciation to teachers for all of what they put in one each day to teach, shape, and mold students to become productive leaders of tomorrow.
If You Are Reading This Post THANK A TEACHER!!!!
