How to Achieve Short Term Goals

It can feel like a daunting responsibility to embark on how to achieve short term goals. This overwhelming feeling can lead us to energetic stagnation making us confused and sad. Once these feelings take root we could benefit from an external boost to return to empowerment and mental clarity. Below are three steps that you can use to find your way out of the cloud to achieve your short term goals.

Move in the direction: Once you know the short term goal you want to achieve, start moving yourself physically in that direction. If you have a full-time job then, it is imperative that you begin to write a schedule of when you can do one or two objectives per week in the direction of accomplishing your short term goal. If you want to be a real estate agent then, you start by finding out what classes are available, what real estate trade organizations that you can join and read success stories to learn how others are thriving in your career aim. An important step towards achieving your short term goals is to move in the direction of what you want to do.

Gratitude Practice: When starting a journey to accomplish an objective it is easy to see what is missing or wrong with us. However, practicing gratitude keeps your mind open to possible opportunities and ideas that you would not receive if your mind is full replaying the lack and negative thoughts from your mental playlist. If you have a job that you do not like at this time, be grateful of the income that it provides that enables you to join a real estate organization and have access to all of its knowledge. Teaching your mind what to think and discard is a requirement when working toward short term goals.  A success coach can show you how to work on discarding your negative thoughts.

Visualize: When you are sitting around and your mind drifts back to lack or ‘what’s wrong thoughts,' redirect them by seeing yourself living the life you want. If you need some help visualizing, write it down. The physical action of writing can lead your thoughts in the direction you want to go. Going back to the real estate example, if you want to become a real estate agent or broker in your area see yourself showing beautiful homes to prospective buyers. In your down time, watch million dollar listing and see yourself showing and serving your clients excellently to get their dream home. These actions will support you in accomplishing your short term goals.

Although it is easy to agree with and believe the above steps are beneficial to reach short term goals, it is difficult sometimes to do them. Just as New Year’s Eve resolutions, we start out well but then one thing leads to another, and we stop. We will write down our goals and resolutions, but not complete one thing we had listed. Before you realize it, one incomplete task becomes two then three. When this happens, contacting a success coach would be helpful. Success coaches can see your goals and co-create a plan of action when you feel confused on how to get started and support you in the process. Success coaches are your accountability partners; they believe that you can accomplish your goal, and they inspire you with ideas regarding actions you can take to reach your short term goals.

There is a practical method on how to achieve your short term goals. Actions, thoughts and beliefs can turn your life around when they are all compatible and moving toward to the same aim. If you find that you are in need of support, you are among many that also have the same situation. If this happens contact a success coach to help you move forward,  get clear, empowered and reach your short term goals.

Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must
fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act.
There is no other route to success.

~Stephen A. Brennan~

Do you have goals for your life and business?

I'm sure you do. Are you achieving any of your goals?

Even when you've set a "good" goal - you can run into some

challenges along the way... namely, motivation. Without motivation,

even the most ambitious person will get sidetracked. Here are the strategies that
will keep you on track to achieving your goals:

Write it down

It's one thing to set a goal and yet another to write it down.

You're making a step towards committing to your goal when

you write it down. I know it seems obvious, however, you'd be

surprised at how many individuals

don't complete this step.

Determine what achieving this goal will do for you

Give life to your goals. Write down what it will mean or what it

will do for you to achieve this goal. Visualize it and write it down.

Place yourself in the moment. This is also a key to manifesting

your goals.

Focus on success.

Being overcome by negative thoughts or "what if" scenarios can spell
disaster, even death, to your goals. When you start out by finding a
million ways why your plans won't work, your energy is getting diverted
to dealing with failure that hasn't even happened!

Instead of funneling your time and resources into negative thoughts and
processes, make the decision that you're not going to entertain any
ideas of failure. If it happens, it happens. You don't have to spend
your precious resources worrying about it now.

"What you focus on expands." ~ Author unknown

Chart your progress.

A great motivation is to create a visual graphic to represent your
progress towards your goal. Think of those thermometers that elementary
schools place outside on a busy road, measuring how close they are to
achieving their fund-raising goal for the new community pool or
library. A similar, physical chart that you can update with progress
will do wonders to keep your attention focused.

When you're doing this step, think outside the box. If you're trying to
spend more time at the gym, why not post a map of the US on your wall,
and draw an inch from one coast to the other for each hour you spend on
the treadmill? Visual reminders are fun ways to keep your goals in the
forefront of your mind.

Don't be afraid to ask for help or turn to an expert for advice.

Some individuals feel guilty about asking for help or admitting that they
need help. Or you may think that you need to do everything on your own.
Nothing could be further from the truth! Alcoholics Anonymous has
sponsors, Michael Phelps has a coach, and Jack Welch had an advisory
board. No one has to be alone in their goal-setting efforts. Trying to
eat healthier? Nutritionists will help you fine-tune your diet. Working
out to get fit? Trainers will help you find the most effective
exercises to achieve your physical goals. Trying to get clear on your
vision, goals and stay focused or maybe even get unstuck? Coaches such
as

myself can assist you in this area.

There are business mentors and coaches who can help you figure out social
media, launch a new information product, create action plans, stay
focused, streamline your finances etc.. You can also find tons of
books, videos, and websites to help you reach your goal, no matter what
your goal happens to be. Don't go it alone. You also need an
accountability partner. Many times this is the missing piece.

SUCCESS MATTERS

I once heard it said that success has a myriad of meanings. Success is something that each person must define for themselves based on what their personal, financial, educational. . . goals are. Hence we can be perfectly successful as parents while being abject failures aesthetically.Personally I've achieved a measure of success with respect to entrepreneurship several times. Now that I'm seriously preparing for my twilight years and introspectively looking at those years that have gone before me. I realize more than ever that those who have stayed the course of their goals, in spite of all of the obstacles they've come face to face with, are people who have achieved success in more areas of life than "average" people can imagine. For success breeds success while complacency breeds futility.Looking at models of the type of success I aspire to achieve, I know that age, circumstances, education or lack thereof . . . are only legitimate reasons if we allow them to be. Marianne Williamson said it best:Our Greatest Fear - Marianne WilliamsonOur greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.We ask ourselves,Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?Actually, who are you not to be?You are a child of God.Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.It is not just in some, it is in everyone. And, as we let our own light shine,we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.Let us take courage, move forward in life confidently. Let us purposely and diligently work toward living the lives of our dreams. Let us be the embodiment of the success we desire.Peace & blessings to you and everyone who loves you.
