Why do we feel its our responsibility to love him?

I woke up this morning thinking about abuse and how the victim always feels responsible. Why is that so? My younger cousin was in this situation a few years back and she always felt she had to love her abuser because he said no one else did. That's why she stayed and endured the abuse- mental, verbal, and physical. I wrote a story loosely based off her experience as a young mother who survived domestic violence and it's titled "Silent Cries." "Silent Cries" is the first story in the uplifting and inspiring anthology, Somebody Prayed for Me.Today, my cousin is in college and working full time! She's a single mother and I'm so proud of her for moving forward with her life. Roses & Champagne

Roses & ChampagneI was so tired and just wanted to get home, as I drove up the driveway I noticed my husband was home already. As I put my key in the door and walked in, on the floor were rose petals in a path towards the dining room, and a note on the floor saying, "Welcome home baby, follow the path", as I followed the path leading to the dining room there was another note which said, "Have a seat, I'll be there in a minute," with red rose petals circling the table.He comes out of the kitchen with 2 glasses of bubbly "Louis Roederer Cristal" champagne and gave me a kiss and I tried to say something, but he put one finger over my lips and just smiled and said "I will be right back".He comes out with 2 dinner plates of shrimp scampi over garlic & butter noodles, with dinner rolls. We ate and conversed and I looked at him with such appreciation and said, "Thank you sweetie this is really lovely." He just smiled and said I deserved it and kissed me, then said after this I want you to relax so please go to the bathroom, and take a bath baby then come to bed and rest your lovely head.I get up from the table after a few minutes and walk down the hallway towards the bathroom and there is another path of roses, pink roses this time to the bathtub with candles at the end of the tub which was filled with Chanel "Allure" bath products laid out for me.I relaxed in this bath and just thought of how sweet this gift was that my husband was giving me tonight, for no reason but just because he love and adore me.After my bath, I wrapped myself in the finest satin powder pink lingerie, "Black Label" collection from designer, "La Perla" and walked towards our bedroom where a candle was lit and pink, red and yellow Rose Petals scattered over the bed, another bottle of "Cristal", a small bowl of chocolate covered strawberries with whip cream on the night stand.He came in the room wearing a pair of black silk pajama pants with no shirt, chest glistening, smelling of "Acqua di gio" by Giorgio Armani; walked over to pour a glass of champagne and gives me a strawberry, which left whip cream on my lips which he kisses off, and at that moment the night was delighted with hot, passionate ecstasy which was unavoidable and I thanked him with all the passion and love, he brought to me from the time I walked through that door with hot, sweaty, sweet sensual love, a night to remember forever.Then I woke up and realized it was a dream, but damn was it a good one and I still had to smile.
