Celebrating Life

Hello Ladies. I just want to let you know that I am in a great mood this year, not that I wasn't last year, but I'm in a better mood this year. The reason I am in such great mood is because I decided after realizing that I did not celebrate life that I wanted to celebrate life. So I am giving away some really nice gifts this year to the women of this network to help you celebrate life. No I'm not trying to sell you anything I just want you to join me in celebrating your life. There is one catch though, you have to post a video to the site about how you intend on celebrating life. Don't be camera shy or feel like you need a professional video. You can use your web cam or a flip whatever you want. You can shoot from kitchen or your living room. After I review the videos I will be choosing one winner each month. Each winner should submit another video letting us know how they enjoyed their gift of celebrating life. Just note that the gifts won't be t-shirts, or mouse pads or coffee mugs, but they will be real gifts that will allow you to take time out for yourself. So come on submit your video and celebrate life with me. Submit videos to http://www.MsBoss.netp.s. I also have a FREE CD titled I Live Life On My Terms. To take advantage of this go to http://www.Ilivelifeonmyterms.That's it for now.Make It A Great Day!Audrey

5 Reasons Why Dreams Don't Take Flight

5 Reasons Why Dreams Don't Take Flight by Dr. John C. MaxwellMost of us never see our dreams come true. Instead of soaring through the clouds, our dreams languish like a broken-down airplane confined to its hangar. Through life, I have come to identify five common reasons why dreams don’t take flight.No. 1 We Have Been Discouraged from Dreaming by OthersWe have to pilot our own dreams; we cannot entrust them to anyone else. People who aren’t following their own dreams resent us pursuing ours. Such people feel inadequate when we succeed, so they try to drag us down.If we listen to external voices, then we allow our dreams to be hijacked. At some point, other people will place limitations on us by doubting our abilities. When surrounded by the turbulence of criticism, we have to grasp the controls tightly to keep from being knocked off course.No. 2 We Are Hindered by Past Disappointments and HurtsIn the movie Top Gun, Tom Cruise plays Maverick, a young, talented and cocky aviator who dreams of being the premier pilot in the U.S. Navy. In the film’s opening scenes, Maverick showcases his flying ability, but also displays a knack for pushing the envelope with regards to safety. Midway through the movie, Maverick’s characteristic aggression spells disaster. His plane crashes, killing his best friend and co-pilot.Although cleared of wrongdoing, the painful memory of the accident haunts Maverick. He quits taking risks and loses his edge. Struggling to regain his poise, he considers giving up on his dream. Although the incident nearly wrecks Maverick’s career, he eventually reaches within to find the strength to return to the sky.Like Maverick, many of us live with the memory of failure embedded in our psyche. Perhaps a business we started went broke, or we were fired from a position of leadership. Disappointment is the gap that exists between expectation and reality, and all of us have encountered that gap. Failure is a necessary and natural part of life, but if we’re going to attain our dreams, then, like Maverick, we have to summon the courage to deal with past hurts.No. 3 We Fall into the Habit of Settling for AverageAverage is the norm for a reason. Being exceptional demands extra effort, sustained inspiration and uncommon discipline. When we attempt to give flight to our dreams, we have to overcome the weight of opposition. Like gravity, life’s circumstances constantly pull on our dreams, tugging us down to mediocrity. Most of us don’t pay the price to overcome the opposition to our dreams. We may start out inspired, but through time, we fatigue. Although never intending to abandon our dreams, we begin to make concessions here and there. Through time, our lives become mundane, and our dreams slip away.No. 4 We Lack the Confidence Needed to Pursue Our DreamsDreams are fragile. They will be buffeted by assaults from all sides. As such, they must be supplied with the extra strength of self-confidence.In Amelia Earhart’s day, women were not supposed to fly airplanes. If she had lacked self-assurance, she never would have even attempted to be a pilot. Instead, Earhart confidently chased after her dream, and she was rewarded with both fulfillment and fame.No. 5 We Lack the Imagination to DreamFor thousands of years, mankind traveled along the ground: by foot, by horse-and-buggy, by locomotive, and eventually by automobile. Thanks to the dreams of Orville and Wilbur Wright, we now hop across oceans in a matter of hours. The imaginative brothers overcame ridicule and doubt to pioneer human flight, and the world has never been the same. Many of us play small because we do not allow ourselves to dream. We trap ourselves in reality and never dare to go beyond what we can see with our eyes. Imagination lifts us beyond average by giving us a vision of life that surpasses what we are experiencing currently. Dreams infuse our spirit with energy and spur us on to greatness.

Take Off the Weight

So many people would love to lose weight, but don't know how to take the weight off. We must first learn how to take it off before we can lose it. I am not writing about food this morning. I am writing about stress.Stress was meant to bless you, not to curse you. Yes, stress has an on and off button. We have not learned how to turn it off (take the weight off). Stress was made to help in the time of need to produce power, but if you do not turn it off it will cost you. My favorite author said we are to cast our cares....... We are to mediate. It could cost you your life one day at a time. Here are some signs of stress.Memory lost Sleeping problemsSkin problemsNot able to concentrateHaving a negative out lookAnxietyNegative thoughtsAlways worryingWeight gainOver eatingChest painsPainsDiarrhea or constipationNausea, dizzinessRapid heartbeatLoss of sex driveColdsThese are just some of the signs of stress. This buzz is for you (Amalaki Fruit).Ever wondered if you could find a single cure to anti-aging, skin diseases, heart diseases etc.? Well, you can find the answer to all these problems and more – because everything is power packed in one small fruit – the humble Gooseberry. A relative of the currant family, the gooseberry, also known as Amla, Amlaki, Vayastha and Dhatriphala, it has many curative powers just like other berries. However this is a berry which has extra curative powers. If one were to consider an analogy, the following one would be apt – gold is to the world of minerals as amla is to the world of herbs. Such is the wondrous value of the great herb. By PawelThis is AKA POWERHOUSE powering you up for a life to live- www.richlady.info

Social Networks, "The Purpose"

I have a few points to ponder as it concerns Social Networks! I had a conversation with a member of one of my Ning sites and we both were concerned about the growing number of Ning sites that are no more than a space full of faces and no activity. I’m a member of 40+ Ning sites and this doesn’t include the many other social networks that I’ve joined. I must admit that I use them all as a marketing tool, however I only joined sites that interest me, for instance I wouldn’t join a site for ladies who love snakes just because there’s a lot of ladies on the network. I can’t stand the sight of snakes so that wouldn’t work for me, no matter how many women I can pitch my spill to.With that said I went on every site and asked my self five questions:1. Does the network description, mission or purpose match what is actually happening?2. Do you receive feed back and information from site manager, group leaders etc?3. Are the groups active? Meaning is there a discussion thread started at least once a week?4. Is the network administrator accessible?5. The blogs, are they informative and submitted daily? (Versus Just marketing holes)Clearly most of the sites failed miserably. This taught me a lot about what not to do as a Ning Network Administrator. I have a desire to recruit sustain members that are interested in my mission and want to benefit from being on my networks. I decided that quality is better that quantity; I have at least 10 members that joined and haven’t been back on the network since. Now what purpose does that serve?

On Women Support Women you will receive the following, if not I hope that you would cancel membership:• Groups will have a leader that creates discussion and evokes activity weekly.• A weekly theme that is inspirational and motivational.• Access to network administrator (I return emails, answers questions, welcome suggestions etc)• Access to monthly workshops• An environment that matches the site mission and description.I want you to know that these are my goals and I want to be held accountable. If this network is for you please join and hold me to it. I want to be the best but I have learned a lot of good and bad from the rest. Let me put the good on Blast, the bad well we won’t discuss them.Sites that are vibrant have active groups, the administrator is accessible to some degree, the blogs are excellent and I feel at home. No particular order, some are large, some are growing. This is just 5. I know there’s probably many more out there. Please no one take offense.http://www.womensupportwomen.ning.com (LOL that’s me)http://thedivinewellnesscenter.ning.comhttp://naturalandhappy.ning.comhttp://sistapreneurs.ning.comhttp://lovininc.ning.com/I hope this information is helpful to you! I would love to hear your response. I think that Social Networks are great but when they're targeted to a center niche, the audience is there because they expect certain things from it. It’s not MySpace, facebook or Black Planet. We expect to be lost in the crowd on those networks. However when we join a network for women who love to knit we expect to find information as it relates to knitting. Thanks for your ear!Coach Richetta BlackmonEmpowering Women –“One Lady at a Time”

A lace front wigis the closest product to Natural Hair.____________________________________Q. How long does a lace wig last?A. With proper care Ego Extensions L.A. lace wigs last for One to Two years.____________________________________Q: Can I straighten or curl this hair?A: Yes, this hair is 100% human hair which reacts the same way asyour own hair. You can wear it for weeks at a time without removing it.You can comb your hair straight back, part it in the middle or even goswimming with it. It truly depends on you application preference. Some women prefer to tape/adhere thier wig to their hairline(on their baby hairs or via shaving their baby hairs)in order to achieve a natural look. A natural look canbe achieved without doing this.Be sure to properly cut your lace wig leaving enoughlace to hold/adhere to the glue.Extra lace is needed to hold the lace wig firmlyand avoid placing glue/tape to your hairline.Repeatedly placing glue and tape intentionally onyour hair line will cause eventual damage.____________________________________Q: Do Lace Wigs Cost Less than Hair Extensions?A:YES! When purchasing Hair Extensions youare not only paying the for hair, but also paying a stylist to install and up-keep.Extensions require a lot of maintenance and you have to go back to the salonevery couple of weeks to have your extensions maintained..A lace wig can last for years with proper care.If you are a daily wig wearer we suggest getting a few different wigs, and alternating them, so your wigs will last much longer.____________________________________Q: How Long Can I Wear My Wig ?A:That will depend on the strength of the adhesive you choose, and your personal comfort. Our Ultra Hold adhesive has maximum hold time of 6-8 weeks.____________________________________Q: What Is Density?A:Density is defined as how thick or thin you want your hair to be.The standard and most popular choice is 120% which is MediumThick Density. The aveage human head isconsidered 100% density so 120% is thicker.____________________________________Q: What Are Bleached Knots?when each strand of hair is hand-tied into the lace at the base of the cap.It bleaches the knot out, making it a little lighter so that it does not stand out as much.It gives it a more natural appearance as though the hairs are growing out of the scalp. This is recommended when you choice a dark hair color.____________________________________Q: What Are French and Swiss Lace Styles? The French Lace is delicate and not detectable. It is more durable and will hold up better over the long run.The Swiss lace is slightly thinner, it is only slightly little less detectable,____________________________________Q:What is a Thin Skin base?A:Thin skin bases are made from Polyurethane and look transparent. This base gives a more invisible realistic hairline______________________________________Q: What Kind Of Tape Or Glue Should I Use?A:If you want a 1-6 week hold you will want to purchase the Ultra Hold glue or the Safe Grip Wig Glue. For a 1-10 day hold the Mity Tite is best. I don't want network membership to be an issue! I know you can't join every site, I myself had to set a limit (a member of 40 + ning sites looking to down size) but they all have their special place! The link on this site is http://sistapreneurs.ning.com/group/giveme40days.Give me 40 days is a 40-day personal prayer journal that will get your prayer life on a course that will set you up to win in 2010. I had the pleasure of meeting Freeda Bowers in 2005 when I first received my copy of this magnificent book. She is the real thing anointed by God to direct others. The book has four short chapters in the beginning and then progresses to 40 days of Journal Instructions. There’s not a lot of reading once you read the first 4 chapters that sets you up to begin the 40 days.We will only be sharing as the Lord leads us, this is a personal journey but we can pray for each other as we go through!Click below for more info:

Style Q&A-How to wear a tiger print skirt?

Happy New Year!!I hope all of you had a lovely start to 2010 and are looking optimistically towards making this a wonderful year.I often offer to assist you with any fashion challenges you may encounter. While I’m not a stylist, I do have an ability to take an objective look at things and offer insight into how you can improve your wardrobe. I got a wonderful question from a reader and I decided to dedicate a post to it.Hi,Taking you up on your kind offer to address readers’ questions, I would like to know if you would have any suggestions on what to wear with a faux-fur tiger print mini-skirt. Yellow is the primary colour, with brown stripes. I was originally thinking of brown tights and shoes with a brown sweater and maybe a brown leather jacket, but that seems like way too much brown. Also, a Google image search reveals that most people seem to pair animal print with black, not brown. Now I’m wondering if I could do some sort of mix-and-match with brown and black. Like maybe a black top and black tights but brown shoes? Or would that look too weird with the skirt?I absolutely need to find some way to wear this skirt or it will never get worn. Thanks for your help!PennyI’d like to thank Penny for sharing her question. I think many women have a similar problem wearing animal print. You don’t want your outfit to clash but you don’t want to look to matchy matchy. In order to help with visuals, I found a picture of a skirt with a similar print.

tiger-print-skirt.jpg

http://beautyandthestreet.blogspot.com/2008_05_25_archive.htmlWell, this is quite a cute skirt so good choice, Penny, on picking it. If the dominant dark color is brown, then you could go with a brown pallet for the rest of the outfit. I would suggest if you do the brown shirt and shoes, you don’t do brown tights, go with bare legs. However, you could also do something similar to what the model in the picture is doing. You could do a white or off white shirt and some brown boots or sandals (depending on the time of year you want to wear the skirt). I wouldn’t do the black shoes and brown tights because it may be hard to pull off confidently. That doesn’t mean that brown and black won’t go together, because they will, just not in this case.I hope this insight is helpful for you, Penny, and for any of you other Clueless Fashionistas out there struggling with an animal print piece of clothing. Don’t put it in the back of your closet never to see the light of day. Pull it out and experiment with it. Try it with several different pieces and see what works best. Pull our your full length mirror and give yourself a mini fashion show!If you have any other questions about fashion and style, please ask away. Let’s make 2010 the year we step outside of our fashion comfort zones and broaden our style horizons!

Why Aren’t Black Women Getting Married

It seems, the more educated and professional a black woman becomes, the lower her chances are of finding a black man to spend her happily ever after with.

Proverbs In Your Business.

Do you allow past failures to keep you from success today?Scripture: "Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new. " ~Isaiah 43:18-19Today's Thought: Everybody fails. Those who succeed discover how to pick up the pieces of their failures and move on. Learn from your failures so that you don't repeat the same mistakes, but don't be intimidated by an occasional misstep or stumble. Keep looking ahead.Establish a plan to overcome common or repeated obstacles. If you can avoid it, don't pay twice for the same experience. Work your plan out point-by-point, monitoring progress at each step.If you learn from past mistakes, you will no longer have to look back with regret or sorrow. Today is a new day, filled with new possibilities and fresh chances. Set your mind on creating something new and you can move forward with confidence and achieve business success."For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again" ~ Proverbs 24:16www.proverbs31women.ning.com
