First of all let me start by saying, that there are many of us that have been in that....."MEANTIME".......holding pattern.When I looked up the word meantime, I came across the definition, it stated: the intervening time....and that simply means to come between, to cause to modify or hinder, I'm paraphrasing but you get my point.....As I pondered exactly what that means to the Son's/Daughter's of the most high God........One thing came to mind first........That was Esther....While we all know the powerful story of Esther, we know that she was patient, whether she wanted to be or not. Before she could be presented to the King, she had to go through a "Beauty Regimen if you will. She had to learn to take care of herself, how to bathe, make sure her hygiene was on point. Then she was given a special diet, she was given seven (7)....maids, they moved Esther to the best place in the harem. Before you could go before the King you had to endure twelve (12) months of beauty treatments. Six (6) months with oil and myrrh, Six (6) months with perfumes and cosmetics. She won favor favor with the King and in ten months (10), he set the crown upon her head!!!!!Let me be the first to say.....PRAISE GOD!!!If and when you find yourself going through, the purging of friends and sometimes family, bathing off that which over the years has attached itself to your person....bathing yourself daily in the word of God...as you study and read, those things which are not a part of you, those things that have attached themselves to you, so much so, that it seems natural, or like another appendage, has to and will come off.I often hear people say, you have to feed the spirit man, and of course that food is the word of God! Which ever you want to live is the one that you feed....If you feed the flesh more, the spirit-man dies...... But if you feed the spirit-man more the flesh-man dies.......Stick to God's special diet and feed the Spirit-Man, the word of God, and it will grow big and strong.......As you bathe yourself in oil....anointing yourself daily..... Your eyes.....Lord that you will allow me to see in the spirit realm, that I might be able discern all that I come in contact with. Your ears.....Lord that you would allow me to hear your voice clearly, that I might be able to know all that you have for me.Your lips............Lord that I might speak your words as you give them to me, to help and not to cause harm, to instruct and not to cause malice....... Your Hands and Feet.....Lord that everything that I touch in your name Jesus will prosper, and that I may follow "ONLY" where you lead Father........Then as you learn to apply perfume.......That your sacrifice of praise will be a sweet smelling fragrance to God!!!Last but not least....Cosmetics....Your appearance to God.....All those things, and people that were holding you, hindering you, have been washed off. You have learned to stay in his word, you have gone from baby food to table food as your Spirit-Man has matured in the Word of God. Your eyes are spiritually opened, your ears readily receive the Word of God, your lips speak to help, to encourage, to compel all that are lost, to take up their cross and follow our Lord and Savior....Your hands and feet, do only the work of the Ministry....you are following the Lord and working in the vineyard..... You have learned how to truly Worship and Praise the Lord, your praise a sweet smelling sacrifice unto the Master....now stand back and let me look at you....You have a glow, a glow that sends a radiating light from you to the Father above, as he smiles down at his Son/Daughter......For he has drawn you with loving-kindness!!! Jer, 31:3So while you are in your..."Meantime" holding pattern think on this.....that's only 10 months.....or....It could take a year!!!! (SMILE)

Well if you took the time to read my story you would see that I've tried endlessly looking for a braid school to attend. Well I did end up finding one and It was all the way in Dallas Tx. I was already to go however God lead to a beauty school instead. And when I tell that God is good please believe it!I prayed after I lost my last job back in January of this year and after looking and searching for a another job with no luck I told God to open some other doors for me in the hair industry since that's where my heart really was, and God did that for me. Ladies I haven't work since I've been in a shop as an Shampoo Apprentice. A lady at my church told me how to get my license for that and I went right on line and applied it was free it took only a week to get to me.Now not only am I in a shop I start beautiy school on the 18th of this month! Ladies God is faithful!brb

Presentation is Everything - part II (Speaking To Be Heard vs. Talking To Be Noticed)By: Lyndsey ShafferSpeaking to be heard versus talking to be noticed is a distinction that must be made. Always speak to be heard. Make sure that the words that come out of your mouth are filled with value. It is the value that you bring to the table that will be taken home by others that night.In school we were taught to participate in a discussion. In fact, often times we were penalized if we did not. What many fail to realize is that there are many ways to participate. For example, non-verbal communication is just as strong as verbal communication. However, the idea that we have to "talk" in order to be noticed or valued is so engrained that we say things just for the sake of saying them.In the small business arena this will not take you very far. Everyone's time is valuable, so don't waste your time or the time of others talking about the weather. When you travel down the road of idle chit chat for too long, people will eventually stop paying attention. Furthermore, by the time you get around to saying something important, they won't be listening and your opportunity will have passed you by.Both action and inaction will yield results. That being said, what you choose to say and what you choose to withhold will speak volumes. The more you begin to monitor your thoughts before they translate into words and come out of your mouth, the more value you will ultimately bring to the table. A great way to practice speaking to be heard is to become "the summarizer". In a group discussion, listen to everyone first. Even if you have an opinion or an answer to someone's question, wait. Hold you comments until you have heard enough perspectives on the topic and are able to find the links between them. Then speak. Summarize what has been said and by whom. Acknowledge the value in their statements and the statements of others first. Then, offer an opinion or solution that links all of their perspectives.Allow yourself the time to fully comprehend the situation or topic and then offering a truly valuable option (one which is both conclusive but leaves the door open for further growth and discussion) is speaking to be heard. The person who speaks to be heard will reveal his or her value and captivate an audience in one or two sentences. It will set you apart and give people a glimpse into your infinite abilities. Once someone recognizes the value you hold and the potential you possess, they will you in high regard. Ultimately, that is the goal of all business networking. Whether or not someone can use your service or product is irrelevant. It is how they view you that matters.
