In Home Hair Care Demonstrations

Well On My Way

016.JPG

This is for all the natural ladies, those thinking about it, and those who are still relaxing!! Just wanted to show off my coily coils so that you can see how my hair is progressing. The picture that you are viewing above I have not applied any gel, hairdress, oil or spritz since my last wash, which was Friday and it is almost Friday again. I wanted to show you how well the My Glory Hair Care Products work. As you can tell my hair is very hydrated to look like this after a week with out applying any extra products. Some women like to apply the products everyday and sport the wet look for their style...and that is ok if that is what they want to do, as for me I do not particularly care for the wet look; if my hair can look like this dry then I do not need to apply any more products until the next time I wash.

017.JPG

After I wash I apply a generous amount of aloe vera gel, hairdress and since my hair is already wet or damp I do not spray with spritz (all the products I use are My Glory Hair Care with exception of the aloe vera gel). The next step I do is to work the products throughout the hair with my hands then I comb thru my hair; my hair is very easy to comb no tangles:). Then after I comb I brush my hair very well to make sure that all of the products are distributed evenly thru the hair, now it is time to decide on what style I want to wear. This weeks style is my hair pulled back with curls in back. To achieve this hair style, I brush my hair back and tied it down (I took a pair of my little grandaughters' used tights and cut out one leg and use it to tie down my hair in the front, along with a wide head band, wave cap, and silk cap) I do this to help to protect my hair and the ends of my hair. The items that are featured below are in the order that I use them. I layer them and this works very well for me and stays in place.

019.JPG

If you have gone natural and feel that it is a chore you can book your Hair Care Party right now and I will come to your home with your permission and help you and your friends/family with the process of applying the products.

The price to host a party is $150.00. As an incentive to you, we encourage our potential customer(s) who sponsor a party to invite 5 to 15 friends or family members to help them offset the party cost. We recommend you that you ask them to donate $10.00 each for the show and maybe have some snacks served. Demos helps to promote togetherness and networking and are a lot of fun.

For hosting a hair care party, you (the host or hostess) will be given a $15.00 savings for their purchase of the full set of the My Glory Hair Care.

018.JPG

The host / hostess can ask each person(s) whom they invited who will be attending the hair party to visit this website to pay for themselves and/or if they are bringing a guest the guest can be directed here to pay also.

Optional:

The host/hostess can collect all monies due and make a group payment if all parties involved are in agreement.

Why I love Going to the Gym

Today I want to discuss why I love going to the gym. Many of my coworkers seem to think something is wrong with me because I race off to the gym every day. The first thing is that I have a great time there. This is because I choose great classes with awesome instructors that really work hard to motivate the class. Nothing gets me more pumped up than great music and instructors that are good at what they do. I find that I work best by trying to match up with those who are pushing hard. Now don't get me wrong, I wasn't doing this on the first day. I had to build up to this, and you will to. I have learned to not give up when I can't do things right away, but rather to keep trying. There is no greater satisfaction than being able to accomplish what you deemed impossible. I suggest experimenting and finding something that you will like and you will find yourself racing to the gym the same way I do everyday!

I'm a Dummy!

Sorry... my writing skills are off today. What I meant to say is I’ve been featured in the new book, "Social Media Marketing All-in-One For Dummies." A few months back, they asked to feature screen shots of Black Business Women Online, my social network in their book! How cool is that? AND now it is officially in print with BBWO on page 653! I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Thank God for Ning! Creating my own social network was one of the best things I have ever done to really boost my business, my brand, AND my buzz online". And the funny thing is, the more I make my network better, the more requests I get to do custom designs for other social network creators. I've gotten so many new requests this month I had to post-pone my next SistaSense Circle and create a pdf pricing guide for new clients looking to customize their ning networks (download pdf here). With respect to using social media marketing to build your business, branding your own social network is a great idea. The key is to make sure that when you do decide to create your own space, you proactively fill it with great content to keep your visitors coming back for more. There are several different types of business documents that you may need as a business owner. Let's take a look at the most common business documents that are typical in most companies.

Assumed Name

There are many documents that are used by businesses today. If you are serious about your company and want to go from hobby to a full fledged business owner then the first step you will want to do is claim your name. The simplest way to get started is by completing Assumed Name documents. This applies if there will be one owner and you operate an unincorporated business.

Articles of Incorporation

If there will be more than one owner and you decide to incorporate the business then you will need to have Articles of Incorporation. When setting up a corporation you will need to complete what is known as Articles of Incorporation. This applies to you if you want to operate a profit based or non-profit corporation.

Tax Identification Number

After you have secured your business name and filed the necessary paperwork then contact the Internal Revenue Service if forming a company in the United States. You will need the name of your business as well as the names and contact information of your business officers. A tax identification number can be applied for by phone or online at http://www.irs.gov. Most business owners will need a tax identification number. A few instances of when a Tax ID is required are when you hire employees and open a business bank account.

Sales Tax License

If your company will sell taxable items then you will need to apply for a sales tax account. Most States have a website that makes it convenient for you to register online. Check with your State to see if it has sales tax registration forms available.

Other documents that are commonly used in business are financial reports, income tax returns, and insurance papers, to name a few. Depending upon your business, there may be others such as business licenses and certifications. Be sure to check with your locality to find out which of these documents you business will need.

For more information on the business documents and recordkeeping visit http://www.tbsusa.com.

New Beginnings Start Living Lose Weight!

Welcome to my New Blog

I decided to start my blog with the new month of October. I'm feeling great because I have started this month and the best way. I now weigh less than I have ever weighed in my adult life. This is such an accomplishment for me. Although I have lost and kept a lot of pounds since 2003, I have had my share of battles. Sometimes I felt deprived and frustrated that I must be concerned with eating healthy and exercising. However, I realize after seeing the results I've been seeing, it is worth more than the cookies, cakes, donuts and pizza that I have passed up. The thrills of eating those are so temporary and the results and are not what I want, the extra weight, and clothes not fitting right.

On the other hand, eating healthy makes me feel physically better and more in control. I enjoy seeing the numbers going down on the scale, my clothes fitting like I want them to. Don't think that I'm obsessed with losing weight or trying to reach a ridiculously low number. I'm just getting closer to the healthy BMI which will no longer classify me as overweight.

Now that I've expressed my excitement, I want to know how or will you start your journey this month?

As my site suggests, start living today! It's well worth effort.

5 Side Hustles to Make Extra Cash Fast

I recently came across a classic post from one of my fellow mommy bloggers and I thought I would share it with you. 5 Side Hustles to Make Extra Cash Fast by Tara from Young Mommy Life. I actually do some of the things she recommends like niche blogging and writing. There are so many ways for writers to make money online, from freelance work to ebooks to blogging, the list of opportunities is endless.

I personally don't think there is really such a thing as Fast Money, but I do believe you can make extra money to add to your income if you commit to finding something that you love to sell AND that will actually sell. I say you need to do both because its honestly just not about passion, its also about discovering a product that has a real demand. One of the "money making" solutions I shared with the ladies in my SistaSense Circle (giveaway happening now), is to "start with a profit project that pays."

Real Talk: Startups Don't Payup Right Away. - LaShanda Henry, StartupSista eCourse

Don't get so excited about all your business ideas that you fall into the trap of wanting to do everything at once. I can't tell you how often women say to me, "LaShanda, I want to do these 10 business ventures, where do I start?" My answer is always the same, "Start with the one that has the most profit potential, then use money from that to invest in another venture."

Listen to me... I am getting off topic and this post is about making extra income. For me, the easiest way to make extra cash is through affiliate marketing. It isn't fast, in the sense that I have to wait a month to get my affiliate checks, but it does work. I have a circle of business women around me, so to them I recommend web products that I use and make commissions from those. To the mommies in my circle, I recommend parenting related products and the process works just the same.

Consider this very simple affiliate project. A few months back, I switched over my social network for women entrepreneurs, to a pay for access website. It is not a membership subscription website, new members are only required to pay a one-time sign up fee of $25. As a member of my affiliate program, you make a commission when you share BBWO with the women entrepreneurs in your circle.

Think about it, how many business sistas do you know? You signup to the program, get your unique affiliate id, and then shoot out a quick email or blog post about Black Business Women Online; recommending them to join. If people signup you make extra cash (view video tutorials here). I should add that as easy as affiliate marketing can be, you should not be a lazy affiliate marketing. I find folks who struggle with making affiliate sales are just plain lazy (no offense). They grab a few affiliate banners, throw them up on their website and wait for people to do the work. When what they should be doing is following my 3 R System for Affiliate Marketing:

1) Recommend Products by Sharing Thoughtful Messages
2) Review Products as Blog Posts and Articles so People Get a thorough idea of what you are promoting
3) Remember to remind people about your recommendations and reviews

You don't read everything you see the first time, so don't expect other people to. Sending out reminders helps you reconnect with old people in your circle and introduce yourself to new ones. Taking time out of my schedule to promote other people's stuff is apart of what I do. Once I setup an affiliate marketing campaign, I can forget about it (for awhile) and then just wait for those extra cash checks to roll in.

What to do now that I am single?

So now that you are single you are probably sitting around wondering to yourself, what do I do now? Well, at this point you have a lot of options.

· You can sit around and cry and pout for a couple of days or months. (Note that there is none thing wrong with crying to release all of your hurt and pain. Just don’t stay in that place too long.)

· You can go hang out with your girlfriends.

· You can spend this time getting to you know you a little bit better. (Highly recommended)

· You can find a rebound guy who you can use to cuddle up with and spend your time with so that you won’t feel lonely.

After all of the options that I have provided, I would suggest that you as a new single woman spend time getting to know yourself a little bit better.

A problem that many single women have is that they don’t take the necessary time to heal after a major breakup before jumping into a new relationship.

And the result of doing that is you go into a new relationship with mixed emotions and hurt and pain from your previous relationship.

What I suggest that you do is take some time to heal from your previous relationship.

Do you need further help in this area? Erica recommends Make-Me-Over Michelle Coaching Program where she will guide you through letting go of all of the heartache and pain that you need to get rid of to move forward in your life. Visit www.guidingu2success.com for more details.

Contrary to what you have been told; what you don't know WILL hurt you! This is especially true when building a business. In business, not only will what you don't know hurt you, what you don't know WILL kill you. Many small business owners and new business owners in particular often make the deadly mistake of entering into business with blinders on. Often times, new business owners are so caught up in ones own passion for wanting to open up a business that they miss all of the critical must-know and must-do signs around them!

If you are operating in the dark, or operating in denial you can best believe that your end is near! It is not ok to be ignorant or make excuses for lack of business while doing nothing to change your circumstances. What is happening today is a good indicator of what will be happening in the future and so if you are not satisfied with what is taking place in your business today, you might want to get on the fast track to changing some things. Problems won't fix themselves! Customers won't magically appear. If you are doing what you've been doing and getting the same results, you might want to consider changing some things - that might include evaluating other business opportunities.

Make Money Not Mistakes!

Written for Quaylynn Dabney

I heard about a 14yr old boy killed during a store robbery. Even though it was him and his friend doing the robbery, my heart goes out to him and his family. I wrote this poem in remembrance of Quaylynn. I do not know him or his parents personally but God gave me the gift and so I use it to help others. I'm hoping this piece will save other teens. This poem is written to be spoken from the mouth of Quaylynn Dabney.

Sometimes we find out the hard way...

On that day I decided to take things into my own hands

To find a get rich quick skeem seemed to be the plan

But things didn't turn out the way I had visioned

A shot to my body made by someone's instant decision…

to take my life.

I know that my reasoning for the robbery wasn't right

Didn't think that the decision made would take my life

Didn't think that I would be the one laying there motionless

Didn't think I would be in a position that would leave me helpless.

Hanging with the wrong crowd could've been why this took place

Didn't know that my life would end this way

So now how do I ever get a chance to change my mind

How about I paint a portrait of my forgiveness in the sky.

When we hear of children losing their lives we think we're invisible

Living like it will never be us will have us doing the unthinkable

I bet you wonder why I was out at that time of night anyway

God was getting ready to call me home is all I can say.

I know the tears fill the eyes of my family and friends

And I know the hurt and the pain has only began

I know that it'll be hard to open up your hearts and forgive

But God knew on that very day that it would be the last moment I live.

And as we know, things truly happen for a reason

And I know that my death to ya'll wasn't all that pleasing

And I know that the blame weigh heavy on your hearts

But maybe If I was standing in their shoes that shot may have not been that hard…

to take.

And me saying that, I know doesn't replace the fact that I'm gone

And no matter how I try to make it sound, my death will always seem so wrong

And we may say that there were other ways around this

But at that single moment, I found that…

God called me home to be with Him that day

He sent one of the most beautiful angels to come and carry me away

He left with you memories to enjoy

And gave me away to try and help every young girl and boy by…

Sending these words to say that life is really precious

And you don't have to die so that others learn a lesson

While you have the chance it's time to turn things around

And we need to stand up and put the guns down

And we need to learn to make better decisions

And watch who you hang with and don't let peer pressure have u wishing..

you would've made better choices.

Let these words as you read them be a positive voice that says,

God wants better for our lives and our parents love us more than that

Take your spare time and give that love back

And though my life is no longer, these words to you I give

Let my death be the reason that you live.

I'm out,

Qualynn Dabney

My heart goes out to those affected by the loss of a child whether by death, imprisonment or to the streets. In my hometown there are a lot of children killing one another. There are a lot of fatherless children due to this. There are a lot of parents with pain and anger in their hearts. There are a lot of families hurt by this.

My God given talent is to write poetry...write poetry that helps, heal and save lives. On my Facebook page is where I do most of my writing but I would love to share some of them with you. I write personalized poetry for anyone in need of comforting words, a good laugh, uplifting or just because.

I hope you enjoy...

I sit along side the ground I was buried in

My arms wrapped around my legs and I'm wondering

How did I get here? So quick. So fast.

Is this the length of time my life was suppose to last?

I sit here wondering wut is dude thinking

Does he have a care in the world that in this ground my body sinked in.

Did he get caught yet or is he wondering free?

Is the picture of my body laying there helpless all that he see?

I sit bottom on my bunk in this cell

Angry that at such a young age, my life will forever be in jail.

Can't escape the eyes of the young man who's life I took

Pain buried in my heart as, at my life I look.

No way to apologize. No way for him to hear.

Well, if he's wondering. Behind these walls for my life I fear.

That moment I asked to be taken back to

That bullet I ask for it to reverse back thru...his body.

I wonder if he knew that, that day I shot me

Only I lived. No permanent wound but a dead life I'll live.

I sit mourning my child's death

I sit hating that his life has ended

I sit with hatred in my heart

I wish that boy's life in jail could be ended...

but I know that's not right.

For some reason he still has life

Maybe it's to save another

My heart goes out to that boy's mother.

I sit on the edge of my bed crying

My son is in jail while another mother's son is lying...6ft under

My mind wonders and I don't know wut to say

I know she's hurting and my words won't end the pain

But I would wrap my arms around her and say,

Though I cannot remove the pain that you feel

From one mother to another...I know God is real.

And for my son I send my condolences and apologies

Cause when you cry, I also weep. I'm so sorry.
