I once heard it said that success has a myriad of meanings. Success is something that each person must define for themselves based on what their personal, financial, educational. . . goals are. Hence we can be perfectly successful as parents while being abject failures aesthetically.Personally I've achieved a measure of success with respect to entrepreneurship several times. Now that I'm seriously preparing for my twilight years and introspectively looking at those years that have gone before me. I realize more than ever that those who have stayed the course of their goals, in spite of all of the obstacles they've come face to face with, are people who have achieved success in more areas of life than "average" people can imagine. For success breeds success while complacency breeds futility.Looking at models of the type of success I aspire to achieve, I know that age, circumstances, education or lack thereof . . . are only legitimate reasons if we allow them to be. Marianne Williamson said it best:Our Greatest Fear - Marianne WilliamsonOur greatest fear is not that we are inadequate,but that we are powerful beyond measure.It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.We ask ourselves,Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?Actually, who are you not to be?You are a child of God.Your playing small does not serve the world.There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.It is not just in some, it is in everyone.And, as we let our own light shine,we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.Let us take courage, move forward in life confidently. Let us purposely and diligently work toward living the lives of our dreams. Let us be the embodiment of the success we desire.Peace & blessings to you and everyone who loves you.

Spiritual Healing ~ My Journey for a Better Way ~

Peace my Beloved Family,For as long as I can remember I have desired to help people to be greater than themselves. In my typical style, I knew I would do this in a very BIG way. Even though I didn’t always know what helping people looked like for me, I knew healing was a major part of who I was.Through years of self discovery, soul searching, and studying various healing arts with many talented teachers and healers, the picture became clearer. As a result, Avalaura’s Healing Center was born. One thing I’ve realized along my journey is no matter how much you’re able to see, the full picture is always greater. It exceeds your wildest dreams and it can only be revealed to you when you are ready to see it. What’s presented to you is only a glimpse of what’s to come if you ALLOW it. Oprah often says “What God intended for you goes far beyond anything you can imagine.” This has been the great truth of my life.I’m very humbled by the healing work I’ve been blessed to do over the last three years. I love hearing the inspirational stories from the people I’ve served, seeing their smiles and receiving their embraces. But through it all, I have always known there was more, that the work I’d begun was just the beginning. Being a healer brings many blessings, but it also brings great responsibility. Ayi Kwei Armah states in his book The Healers:“A healer needs to see beyond the present and tomorrow. He needs to see years and decades ahead. Because healers work for results so firm that they may not be wholly visible till centuries have flowed into millennia. Those willing to do this necessary work, they are the healers of our people.”This belief embodies the spirit of every aspect of the work I do. I know I’ve been blessed with a powerful gift and I’m determined to share it with the world. Many people have asked me, why did I choose to be a healer and how did I become interested in holistic or alternative healing? And I tell them very simply, this is the work I was born to do. This is not something I woke up one day and said, “ooohh wouldn’t it be cool to heal the world?” On the contrary, it is a powerful energy, a feeling, a passion that surges through every part of my being. I sleep with it, I eat with it, I laugh with it and I heal with it. This is what God has intended for me and I graciously accept the call. I am always searching for another way; a better way. I’m always working to improve my work. I’m always trying to figure out; how can I do more, how can I help people heal faster and how can I help people heal permanently. Finally in my search, I have found the ultimate healing. I have found that better way or rather it found me.My experiences in India expanded my awareness to further allow what God has intended for me. When I returned to the U.S., the next phase of my journey began. In my meditation I was introduced to the greatest healer I have ever known. He is a Muslim Sufi who comes from a long line of healers in the Gambia in West Africa. Although I was just introduced to him, God had been preparing him for me for four years. He was waiting patiently for me to arrive. And when I did, he embraced me as his child, as his friend, and as his student. Since the moment of our physical meeting, he has taught me everything that he knows; everything that Spirit has taught him. I can not tell you what a great blessing and gift this is. I am not Muslim, I am a woman and I am an American. All of these are obstacles to learning these sacred traditions and wisdom teachings that God has opened the way for me to receive.Through Marabout Spiritual Healing, I have been invited into a secret world that many will never have the privilege to witness. The Spirit world has embraced me with open arms and has shown me that miracles do exist. Through my work with Spirit; Spirit can create miracles in the lives of many. This allows me a unique perspective, a vantage point or as Armah says the ability to “see beyond the present and tomorrow.” This is the vantage point that I graciously share with you. Armah also states “Healers are just awakeners of a people who have slept too long.”Wake up! You have slept too long! It pains me to see people suffering unnecessarily. Agonizing from disease, limiting beliefs, curses and other evil influences and self imposed limitations. I feel frustrated when I hear the many stories of people poisoning themselves with chemotherapy to “cure” cancer, people enduring surgery for something that can be healed naturally, people experiencing the symptoms of sickle cell or HIV because western medicine has no cures, or people taking numerous medications for diabetes or high blood pressure when a healing herb is the answer. I am so tired of poverty consciousness and other limiting beliefs where people believe they don’t have the time or money for the very things that will change their lives. But instead spend their time and money on things that will never yield the results they seek.Wake up! You have lost your way. You have been conditioned to believe that the world you live in is reality. So when a doctor tells you there is no cure for a disease, then this must be true. Many of us believe constant suffering and enduring one bad experience after another is a normal part of our human existence. This is not so. The real world is the unseen world beyond us that governs our “reality.” And in this world EVERTHING IS POSSIBLE. There is a cure for everything; everything can and does heal. For what has been created can be destroyed and what has yet to be created, can be manifested. This is the work of miracles. This is the work of Spirit. This is the work I am humbled to help you use to change your life. But……Only if you believe!Only if you allow it!Only if you realize there is a force greater than you that allows healing beyond your greatest imagination!Only if you decide to stop complaining, stop procrastinating, use your Divine power and take your life back!Only then can you begin to witness the greatness God intends for you. There is a better way; don’t be afraid to believe in it, even if you can’t see it. Don’t be afraid to embrace it; when your opportunity for true healing is presented to you, even if you don’t understand it. Wake up! Maybe it’s me. Maybe this has been going on for a very long time and I finally caught on. But there is something going on. What am I talking about?How many of you watched the televised proceedings of the 2008 Republican National Convention during the week of 1 September 2008 and the 2008 Democratic National Convention during the week of 25 August 2008? Did you notice anything, shall we say, “different” or “unusual”?Well, there was a lot of talk about Fathers and Fatherhood on both sides of the aisle. I have been watching televised proceedings of both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions for years and I cannot recall when I have heard Presidential Candidates or their wives talk about Fathers and Fatherhood.For what, to my knowledge, is the first time, Fathers and Fatherhood was discussed in speeches given by very high profile individuals at the 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions. And this discussion of Fathers and Fatherhood which occurred at the 2008 Democratic and Republican National Conventions not only demonstrates that Fatherhood transcends boundaries, but it also sends a clear signal that Fathers and Fatherhood have moved to the center of the national political radar screen.On Monday, 25 August 2008 in Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Michelle Obama, the wife of Democratic Party Presidential Nominee and United States Senator Barack Obama rendered a powerful and soulfully riveting keynote speech during which she talked about her Father who, under the most excruciatingly challenging set of circumstances, empowered and strengthened his family and positively shaped the minds and souls of his children.Mrs. Obama had this to say about her Father:" . . . What do you get when you have a former teacher, mother of 3 kids (under 6) who home schools and has her own business. You get my friend Christine "Cee Cee" Lowe Woolard Owner and Founder of NeoSoul Essentials Products.I met (online) Cee Cee through social network group called BBWO (Black Business Women Online). From there we have joined similar groups and follow each other on twitter.Cee Cee had put it out there that she was offering samples of her MegaMix Shea Butter through Twitter. I love to support all indie business, so I ordered Mango Sunrise. The sample came in a cute purple organza drawstring bag. I also received some other goodies. Here are nine ways to use this tool successfully.The autoresponder (or mailbot) is one of the great workhorses of Internet marketing. With the autoresponder, you can deliver your sales message or other information rapidly. And you can deliver it 24 hours a day to any Internet email user in the world.But how can you create an autoresponder message that gets real results? Here are some methods of power communication that I've had success with as a writer of sales letters, mailbot copy, World Wide Web content, ads and more.1. Focus on the reader, not yourselfYour message should be about the customer's needs and how your product will fulfill those needs, not about how wonderful you are and how great your product is (in your own opinion).Don't talk to me about your fertilizer, talk to me about my lawn. Take a look at my first few paragraphs above. How many times did I talk about "you" and "your" as opposed to "I" and "me"?2. Make it personal.As with any sales letter, write your autoresponder message as a one-to-one communication. Pretend you're sitting down to talk to a friend.Let your message be friendly, animated and informal. Go ahead and use contractions (like "you're" and "don't" and "we'll"). Don't be afraid to start a sentence with "and" or "but." Your English teacher will never read it, and he wasn't teaching you to write advertising, anyway.3. Emphasize benefits.Rather than thinking of yourself as selling a product or a service, think of yourself as providing benefits. To determine the benefits, ask yourself, "What does the customer get out of my product?" The answer should be something like "more time," "more money," "more pleasure," "an easier life," "better health," or "greater safety."Benefits are different from features. Include a "call to action."Be clear in your mind about what you want the reader to do after reading your message. What do you want? A reply by email? A visit to your Web site? An order called in to your toll-free number? Let the user know what response you want, and let them know in a compelling, urgent, benefits-oriented way. Include complete contact information, and triple-check it for accuracy.5. Offer useful information.One good autoresponder strategy is to offer a free report giving useful information but including a sales message -- an "advertorial" approach.For an example, for several years I distributed a report, "10 Tips for Selling on the Internet and the World Wide Web." This was a report with much solid nuts-and-bolts advice. But at the end of the report, I told the user how to order my "Smart Business Guide to Internet Marketing," and I even included an order form. Users didn't resent my pitch because they got so much value from the report.6. Use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.You tell the world whether you're a professional or an amateur by the quality of your marketing communications. Take the time to edit your autoresponder message for errors. If you're not a good speller, get help from someone who is.7. Use layout to make it easier to read.Since a mailbot message is delivered in plain ASCII text, your design capabilities are limited.
