The Moral Perspective #779

The Bond between two people can be the most powerful thing that they  possess. Yet if your unaware of what it takes to maintain that bond, you can and WILL break it. This normally happens through neglect of the Bond through careless, and thoughtless decisions made when it comes to  the Bond. Over time the Bond will erode until eventually nothing's there other than you knowing you once had a Bond. Every attempt should be made to keep the Bond strong. You do this through your words and Deeds. You do this by holding your Bond with that special person in the highest  esteem. And you never neglect the Bond. Because it is that special Bond  that will be your source of Happiness. Respect it!

I am delighted to be in partnership with Peas. I think this is a perfect time to work together, create new ideas and be of service to our children. I am proud to be a part of the solution!!

CLEO KING (Biography)

Cleo King remarkably transforms from vivacious diva to the wise-cracking “Nana” on the hit CBS television sitcom, Mike & Molly.

She is the recognizable face whose talent brings joy, depth and laughter every time she appears. Cleo can also be remembered from the small screen as “Nurse Wendy” in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, “Neeta” in Sons of Anarchy, “Aunt Lou” in Deadwood and “Helene Parks” in Boston Public. She has appeared alongside some of Tinsel Town’s greatest stars with all-around standout performances as “TSA Supervisor Daisy Bell” in Valentine’s Day, “Officer Garden” in The Hangover, the boss of Kate Winslet in The Life of David Gale, and Jamie Fox’s sister, “Janice,” in Dream Girls.

She is a triple threat talent -- actor, singer and dancer -- and has wowed audiences from New York to Los Angeles with her powerful and soulful singing reminiscent of the great Aretha Franklin. She is a self-made success that took her career from church choirs in St. Louis, to the stages of Broadway, and then on to the screens of Hollywood.

Cleo King is a philanthropist with a special interest in the needs of children. She is actively involved with associations such as the March of Dimes and Peas in Their Pods, an organization dedicated to helping parents find missing children. The organization also takes pride in helping to stamp out child abuse against children of color. What’s more, Cleo is working diligently to give a child a loving home by becoming a parent through the United States adoption system. Well-rounded, talented and grateful to always be working in an industry she loves, Cleo King is one queen worth getting to know.

His Will Is Good!

10744077269?profile=originalGod's Will is Good, Acceptable, and Perfect.

You know... sometimes you wonder why things are not happening the way you want them to.  You feel as though God has forgotten about you.  I had one of those moments last week.  Oh, I'm good now... but I have to remind myself often that God has a plan for me and that His timing is perfect.  In fact He has a plan and purpose for each one of us.  So what did I do to pick my head up?  I leaned on God, read His Word and listened to a song that ministered to my spirit.

One of my favorite songs throughout the years has always been The Will Of God which is featured on the Hezekiah Walker CD "Family Affair".  It features the beautiful voice of Monique Walker with background vocals of The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir.   The lyrics (shown below) are so powerful.  You can also close your eyes and sing along with the Choir by visiting Inspirational Expressions blog.

There are so many things about the will of God,
the things we don't understand because they seem so hard.
We try to find the way that seems to be just right,
but the way we choose only leads us further from the light.
But if we can learn to accept the things we cannot change,
and never question God for we'll never know His way.

Chorus:

We must accept what God allows,
and we must never try to tell Him how
to order our lives, He has a plan in mind.
He's the one who made you, created you,
saved you, and He knows what's best for you;
His will is good, it is acceptable, and it's perfect.

There are many things about
what God allows that we don't understand,
But if He allows all of these things to be,
it's a part of the Master's plan.
He knows what's best,
and He won't put more on than you can bear.

His will is good, it is acceptable, and it's perfect.

Be Blessed!

RE-Visiting Pinterest for Business

On January 23, 2012 I wrote about using Pinterest for business. In that brief time Pinterest has leaped ahead to be the third most searched site and the third fastest growing site after Facebook and Twitter. Media pundits will have you believe that its just a bunch (a very LARGE bunch. Smile) of women sharing pictures and recipes. But surprise, surprise there are men on the site as well. The top men users were recently announced.

Here's where it gets really interesting all manner of apps and third party sites have been set up to piggyback off pinterest. I recently signed up for

Pintics.com

Pintics on Youtube

http://youtu.be/MjXReStrfhU

Businesses are finding creative ways to use pinterest as evidenced by the Pinterest 2012 Nissan Altima Reveal Contest on Pinterest. http://cmp.ly/R/VMzsTC .

NISSAN ALTIMA PINTEREST CONTEST

Other businesses are using pinterest to show off design skills, real estate viewings and howtos, example make a wire ring.

Want to win perks for using Pinterest. Now you can based on your "Pininfluence". In pinpuff's own words what that means

What is Pinfluence?

Pinfluence is measure of your popularity, influence and reach on Pinterest. It also decides monetary value of your pins & traffic your pins generate. We are doing some really cool stuff around Pinterest and first 1000 beta users will get exclusive invite to try out our experiments with Pinterest well before it is opened for all.

http://pinpuff.com/perks.php

Another site to measure your influence is PinReach.com which provides analytics and a means to measure your influence assigning a score to your influence.

My current score is 36.1, which surprised me because I'm not on Pinterest that often (couple times a week). According to them my influence is very good even thought I don't have hundreds or thousands of followers.

Pinerly.com which is a dashboard for Pinterest.

Wisestamp.com has jumped in and created a pinterest icon for your email signature.

https://plus.google.com/110444710048851547693/posts

The takeaway is to look at how your business can be showcased on Pinterest especially if photos are a part of your making strategy. Pinterest may offer more flexibility to get your message before your market than Facebook.

I'm curious as to how you're using Pinterest. Leave a comment telling us what works for you.

Is Women's Empowerment Really Necessary?

10744078098?profile=original

Empowerment refers to increasing the spiritual, political, social, or economic strength of individuals and communities. It often involves the empowered developing confidence in their own capacities. Wikipedia

Do you think women’s empowerment is even necessary? What are your thoughts about empowerment? We are so accustomed to running with new concepts, theories and such that we fail to fully understand the true essence. I believe this is what happens with the concept of women’s empowerment.

The process of empowerment The process which enables individuals/groups to fully access personal/collective power, authority and influence, and to employ that strength when engaging with other people, institutions or society. In other words, “Empowerment is not giving people power, people already have plenty of power, in the wealth of their knowledge and motivation, to do their jobs magnificently We define empowerment as letting this power out (Blanchard, K).” It encourages people to gain the skills and knowledge that will allow them to overcome obstacles in life or work environment and ultimately, help them develop within themselves or in the society. Wikipedia

If you are going to be equipped for the mission you’ve set forth for your business and life, empowerment is a needed ingredient in your recipe for the realization of a juicy manifestation of empowering success.

Show me a woman who is empowered and I’ll show you an unstoppable woman.

Empowerment is a choice. Empowerment doesn’t chase you down and beg to be part of your journey. You must choose to seek out resources that will allow you to maximize your empowerment.

You are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body. Each must be nurtured if they’re going to be and remain strong, even so for your personal, spiritual and business life. This has been said to be a male dominated world and as such women must become empowered to stand in their own power, to step up and play a bigger game. You must be confident in yourself and the gifts that you have to offer to the world. Let’s take it a step further for those of you who may be dealing with fear, when you are confident of God in you it “trumps” fear.

Is women’s empowerment necessary? Yes, if you’re going to have a competitive advantage and differentiate yourself in the marketplace. Whether you’re in the corporate world, a work at home mom, woman entrepreneur, stay at home mom, wife, leader in ministry, single mom, executive etc. make the choice for maximum empowerment today!

Here’s a biblical reference to empowerment . . . In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. Ephesians 6:10 Amplified version

Holiday gatherings give me the warm fuzzies. For my family this was always a time of good food, company and sharing. My Mother was of the generation of women whose mind body and soul was centered around their cooking. The acquisition and preparation of the food would make a military stratagist proud. The holidays were their time for the spotlight and they well earned it. They put their heart soul and foot into making a making the holidays awesome. (Just kidding about the foot. My parents are Southerners and its considered the highest compliment to tell someone they "put their foot into it", the meal).  Interestingly when my parents married my Daddy was the better cook. Daddy made the best cakes. He used a heavy silver serving spoon to beat his cakes. They would float out of the oven they were so light. Daddy's an Ancestor now, and foodie that I am, I'm still looking for a cake as light as his.

I am from a large family, seven of my parents and whatever kids we had brought home. We have had as many as thirteen kids living with my family at a time. Other kids brought cats and dogs home. We brought kids home. My Daddy would say, "Candy put an extra plate out". He'd tell one of us to get them a change of clothes if needed. Daddy would go to the family and find out what the problem was and try to calm the situation. Sometimes kids spent the night, other stayed for years. Southern style social services.

Back to the holidays they were always a time for large gatherings , many times folks came to our house for dinner. We had to eat in shifts. Kids and the elders were always fed first. The eldest person present, usually my granddaddy said grace. (Granddaddy passed just shy of his 96 birthday). I liked when my Daddy said grace. His prayer was, "Good food, Great God , Lets eat." and we did. Smile.

As I was thinking about this post I remembered a particular holiday my Mom pulled  out a guitar she had bought at auction. (My Mom is from old money Atlanta, Georgia. Mommie loved auctions, I guess that's why all of our furniture was Duncan Phyfe. Good solid furniture that would withstand seven very active kids and their friends.) Mommie brought the guitar out showing it off, she couldn't play it. Mr Gus, from Mississippi, asked her for the guitar and started to play it. Mr Gus sang the blues and picked that guitar like he was Muddy Waters. For an hour you didn't hear a pin drop, even the babies were silent. After about an hour someone pulled out a harmonica and then folk started joining in or singing a song to his playing. It was an amazing day. Mr Gus's wife didn't know he could play guitar or sing like that!

My Mommie had sang jazz in nightclubs in Chicago.  When I was little I would get up and lay just outside the kitchen door to hear her sing. She would be singing as she made biscuits or some other baked goodies for breakfast. I knew if she saw me she would stop sing and start talking. I wanted to hear her sing. Many a mornings she came out the kitchen to wake us for breakfast and I would be fast asleep in the floor.

Holidays were always a memorable time in our household. Good food, good friends and to quote Daddy, "Good Eatin". Smile

What are your memories of the holidays? Please share in a comment,.

What Do I Do? I'm So Darn Confused!

If you are not confused, you are not paying attention! I ready that today by an unknown author and when I really thought about it, it actually made sense.  Like most people new to MLM, Direct Sales, or Network Marketing, (assuming that's you) you probably have tons of things running through your head.  Like most people, you’ve probably been told at one point or another to stay away from those pyramid scheme things, only the people at the top make any money, they are just trying to take your money, they are going to brain wash you, I had an Amway guy scam me 20 years ago and the list goes on, and on, and on and on!

It all started back in the 1950′s with nutritional supplements, household products, and cosmetics!  Many people can recall parents or grandparents either ordering from Amway or being involved with Amway!  I hear so much negative talk about Amway by the way, but what many people fail to realize is that to this day Amway ranks amongst the top 50 global retailers, reported revenues of 10.9 BILLION in 2011 and the CEO Dexter Yager is the highest paid in the entire direct selling industry banking an astonishing $12,000,000 last year!  How about them apples!!!  Now I’ve never and would never chose to get involved with Amway, but I would also never put my foot in my mouth and say that it’s a scam! It is one heak of a company with a business model and leadership that absolutely works! Obviously!

Why is the Industry So Attractive?

What is so attractive about the network marketing industry is what many people are trying to figure out. Well, for starters, I would ask, what other industry will allow you to start your own multi-million dollar enterprise for a few hundred dollars or some instances a few thousand dollars  and be profitable in record speeds?  The average start up cost for a MLM opportunity is between $200 and $1500 and the return for those who are willing to work the business like a “business” can be astronomical!  The systems are already set in place.  You have a graphic design department, a customer service department, a training department, etc.  When you invest in a MLM company, you have literally invested into a multi-million dollar enterprise and this is the fact that many people miss and take for granted!  For those who recognize what it takes to build a business from scratch, this is also what makes the industry so attractive.

The combination of technology and traditional selling methods makes MLM popular for all classes of people, of any and every background, no education all the way up to graduate level education, blue collar, white collar, you name it and it attracts.  Additionally, the industry is also extremely popular because of something called leverage.  You can earn money from the down line of your recruits’ sales and their recruits’ sales and so on.  You do work once and reap benefits in the form of money, over and over and over and over again!  There is no overhead if you work at home, and advertising can be based on word of mouth. There is also no inventory (typically), no collections, and no receivables. You do not have to see the customer, and the product is shipped to them on your behalf!

Why the Bad Rep?

MLM has acquired a bad reputation through media reports, that typically arise from people who got involved with an opportunity, did nothing and because they did nothing, they made no money and hence they felt that they were scammed and they set out on a mission, an emotional mission, to tell the world and ruin the company that they were involved in.  For most legitimate companies, this never works, but it does leave scars around the internet! Are there some shady network marketing companies out there? Yes.  Are there some true pyramid schemes out there? Yes.  Are there representatives and distributors in companies selling people dreams in every company?  Yes.  But a majority of the companies are operating legally and are truly legitimate and lucrative business opportunities.

How to Select a Company?

When selecting a MLM business opportunity for yourself, especially if you are completely new to the industry, you should look for a company that has been in business for at least 3 years, to be on the safe side unless you are completely in tune and in line with the vision of the company and are ready to go along for the bumps and bruises that come along with start-up companies in any industry!

I am not saying to avoid younger companies altogether, there will just be a lot more due diligence on your part and you will be taking a bit more risk.  If you do not have money to simply throw away, you may want to think long and hard!  With any company, you want to make sure that they have solid, strong leadership, a system for conducting business that can be used with ease, a good training program in place, a strong compensation plan and products that are in demand.  You may also want to make sure, where ever possible, that you are joining a strong team (upline) that isn’t going to leave you high and dry due to the fact that they don’t know what they are doing!

When comparing MLM opportunities, many people will tell you to think of yourself first!  I agree with this but I also disagree with this for many reasons.  For starters, just because you like something, doesn’t mean that it will sell.  Likewise, you may not like something, but 90 percent of the world is purchasing that thing that you dislike on a daily basis!  I like to state it this way: could you imagine yourself sharing information comfortably about a particular product or service?  In terms of business, you have to be selling what people are buying and you have to make yourself attractive enough to make people want to buy it from you no matter what it is.  Despite, what you may have been told, products don’t just sell themselves, people have a big part to play in this! I am a woman and I sold men’s suits when I was 18 years old.  I couldn’t personally utilize a man’s suit, and it wasn’t my ideal job, but because I needed the money I chose to be comfortable selling men’s suit and I did it passionately because I got paid for doing it!  Aside from what I thought, there was actually a DEMAND for selling $500 cheap looking suits! That was my 18 year old opinion at the time – cheap suits, who in the world is buying this!

Don’t Quit Your Day Job

Many who become involved in a MLM business start out on a part time basis, simply supplementing their regular income. This is wise advice for anyone considering a network marketing opportunity because as is the case with building any business, it takes time!  Most companies request that you be willing to commit to 12 to 18 months up front to build your business and see results.  This is common.  Think about it this way, it takes the average business owner at least 5 years to turn a significant profit and a majority of people who start traditional business NEVER see a profit.  A 12 to 18 month commitment on a business that required very little start-up capital is very reasonable to say the least.

Keeping your day job will insure adequate income to meet your household needs and buy you enough time to get the business established. By keeping your current ties in the business world, you can attract “them” as customers or potential teammates in your new opportunity.

Lastly, just remember that there is no such thing as a legal get rich quick fix, aside from hitting the lottery and inheriting a fortune! You must be willing to treat your MLM business like a real business and work it until you see results.  If you put in work, you will definitely see results.  If you don’t put in work, you will see no results.  It is your choice.  But when you don’t get anything from your investment, as a result of doing nothing, don’t go around giving your company a bad reputation, as the only person to blame will in essence be you!

By the Way, check out my new site.  MLM money paid for it!  Click Here!

Empowered to Say No

Empowered to Say No

When asked to take on a task and you know that you don’t have time to fit it in your day do you

1) Say I’m sorry I’m unable to do that at this time

2) Say I’m sorry I’m unable to do that at this time while feeling guilty or

3)You agree to do it knowing full well that it will be next to impossible to fulfill it?
One of the biggest hindrances to one’s endeavor to lead a balanced and healthy life is the inability to say no.

Many things contribute to one’s inability to simply say no without the guilt. It can b a problem with needing approval, not wanting to be rejected which is complicated by low self esteem.

Generally speaking, people can’t say no to someone asking them for something because they are so worried about upsetting the person or lack the courage to turn down the request. People often dislike disagreeing, or believe saying yes is easier than saying no. Others can simply not say no. However, there are often instances where it is best to say no to a request and it is important to learn how to utter that small little word, “no.”

You can become empowered to say no.

Discover simple strategies to say no, politely but firmly.
It’s you schedule and your life. You don’t have to come with excuses or stories. If you don’t value your time no one else will. You can say no without being dishonest.
Here are a few ways you can say no.
• No. I would only be able to do a mediocre job right now.
• No. I don’t have any spare time right now.
• Not this time, please give me more notice next time and I’ll work it into my schedule.
• I can’t accept this, with my present commitments. I’m sorry.
• I’m rather quite busy now. I must decline.
• I don’t think I have the time for it, as I am in the middle of something important.
• After looking at my calendar, I found that I already have prior commitments.
• I can’t.
• Why don’t you try someone else? I’m not the right person for this.

Take some time to come up with some additional ways that you can say no that feel authentic to you and our personality. If you aren’t sure, you can always ask for time to make the decision without feeling guilty. You may say you will have to think about it. If somebody persists with the request when you want to say no, you may have to be assertive and firmly decline. You don’t need to risk over committing by saying yes when you actually want to say no.

When you neglect being honest when approached by your boss for instance and you know that you couldn’t possibly fulfill the request in excellence you are putting your job on the line.

If you can show your boss, the reasons for not being able to accept the extra responsibility, you may be able to convince your superior about your inability to accept the additional work. Don’t accept anything that puts your job at risk or makes you suffer later.

Believe it or not learning to say no at the right time can help you gain respect with your peers and help avoid dire situations.

When saying no do so with confidence and if you lack confidence well this is an area that you want to work on. An inability to say no will be a definite hindrance to your personal empowerment.

Boost your confidence and self esteem. Celebrating the uniqueness of you will go a long way in enhancing your ability to say no without feeling guilty.

Besides when you don’t truly desire or have room to fulfill the request you’re not being authentic and you know I’m all for being authentic.

Here’s to your no-ability!

I know you enjoyed this post and maybe you’d like to go deeper. I’d like to invite you to join me for my new Teleseries. Click here to join my Teleseries “Essential secrets to Extraordinary Life and Business Success!”

Overcoming Fear - Nadia Ballas-Ruta

Overcoming fear doesn’t happen instantly or automatically. It is the result of deliberate intention, and conscious action towards doing things that scares you. As a result of overcoming your fears, you grow as a person, and expand the possibilities that surround your life.

Do you recall the last time you wanted to do something so intensely but fear got in your way? We all have those moments when we are enthralled with an idea only to have fear prevent us from moving forward. What can we do to overcome fear from paralyzing us from moving forward with our dreams and desires?
I have always found it interesting how the concept of playing it safe makes many people choose being miserable over being happy.
The interesting thing about the human condition is that the minute we experience pain, we never want to experience it again. So as a result, we do things that we feel will ensure that we do not get hurt. In fact, we will go to further extent to avoid pain than we will to gain pleasure.

For example; you fall in love and you give every ounce of your being to the object of your affection. Things are going well for a while but then something happens and the relationship ends. You feel crushed and you swear to yourself that you will never again allow yourself to be so vulnerable. As a result, anytime you meet someone new, you remember that painful experience and you bring it into the new relationship.
Fear of risk also appears when it comes to the topic of making a living. For some reason there is a belief in the collective conscious that in order to make money, you will mostly likely work at a job that you do not love?.
When I was a child, one of my mother’s friends told me to enjoy being a kid because when I became an adult, I would have to get a job in order to pay bills so that I could be responsible. She made it sound as if being an adult was an existence made up of misery and not joy.
Yes, we do have to be responsible for our lives and we do have to pay bills but where does it say that we have to be miserable? I have yet to see proof that we have to be unhappy in order to pay the bills.

“Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.”
~ His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

One of the many interesting things about life is that nothing of value was ever gained by playing it safe. Take, for example, the founding of America. Fifty-six men risked their lives by signing the Declaration of Independence. Their act of signing that document constituted treason and it was a serious offense according to the laws of the British Empire. However, they knew that they needed to sign that document in order to achieve independence.
To have a life that you love requires some type of risk taking, and stepping out of your comfort zone to confront some of your fears. Let’s face it, the only sure thing in life is the fact that at some point your heart will stop pumping and this fantastic ride will be over.
When I was twenty-five, I had achieved every single material desire that I ever had. I also felt miserable. There was a huge void in my heart and soul. It scared me and I knew that I did not want the rest of my life to be a reflection or repetition of what I was feeling. So I vowed to change it.
I took a leap of faith, confronted my fears and took action that scared me. As a result, I created a new life that was based on what I loved and believed. I knew in my heart that there was more to life than just money and a title. I wanted passion and meaning. I got it.
The caveat is that sometimes when we change, it will make some people around us uncomfortable. When I decided to change, I had lost many friends. Some of my relatives disowned me and others stopped talking to me.
The loss of friends and relatives was very painful but the rewards were truly worthwhile. I made new friends who ended up becoming more like family than friends. I went from being a miserable person to being a happy person. The void disappeared. My life went from being meaningless to meaningful. It was the wisest decision I ever made in my life.

3 Keys to Overcoming Fear

So how does one go about taking risks and overcoming fear? Here is what I learned and use whenever confronted with a choice between playing it safe or leaping off the cliff into the unknown:

1. Develop Accurate Perception

Most of our experiences in life are determined by our perception. Our perception of a situation determines our thoughts and that in turn creates how we feel about a situation. Thoughts and feelings work hand in hand. Each one influences the other.
People often mistake feelings and thoughts as being the same but they are separate entities. Thoughts often determine how we feel and the opposite is true, too. However, feelings are more powerful than thoughts because feelings usually are what fuels our actions. Feelings bring our thoughts to life.
Let us say something makes you feel scared. That prompts you to worry and that worry then influences all of your actions. It affects how you talk and it even impacts your body. You get the nervous stomach and so on. That all began with a feeling.
The best thing to do when confronted with anything is to view the situation with objectivity and an open mind. Be honest with yourself, too. When you put your emotions aside and can see something independently from what you may think about it, then you can cut through any possible delusion and see the situation accurately.

As life would have it, the day that I discovered that I had finally gotten all the financial means needed to make my dream come true, my old job that had laid me off contacted me to come back to work. I was faced with a momentary dilemma. Should I take the steady paycheck or finally go for my dream?
I thought about what my old job was like and how I did not love it and how it made me feel so uninspired. I recalled all the long hours and the miserable co-workers. I also thought about the nice big paycheck and how that would solve a lot of financial stress. All these thoughts made my chest tighten up.
I then thought about my new business and the tightness disappeared. My heart felt joy and freedom even though it was a huge risk, even though it scared me. It occurred to me that even though this new business was just a baby, I wanted and needed to see it through and take it as far as I possibly can.

Instinctively, I knew that if I went back to my old job, it would be a huge step backwards and I wanted to go forwards. I was tired of being at a job that was not in alignment with who I was. I was able to be true to my passion in all areas of my life except for work. The time had come for me to change that. So I called my boss and told him that I refused the offer.
Now to some people, it would have seemed wise to go back to my old job and work on my business on the side. I will admit that does sound like a logical solution but it is also a solution that is rooted in fear.
Fear is tricky. It can disguise itself as being rational but it is not. Fear is like a con artist. It makes you think it is real but it only becomes real when you give in to it.
Yes, I have no idea what will become of my business but if I had gone back to my old job, I still would have had no idea what would happen. I could have easily been laid off again due to the economy or whatever.
When we look at a situation honestly and without fear, then we can see what is at stake and make a decision that is best for us. To some people, I may be crazy but I also know with every fiber of my being that I am on the right track.

2. Believe in Yourself

The interesting thing about overcoming a fear is that you need to believe that you can do it. Doubt is like cancer. It feeds on all the positive, happy thoughts and feelings you may have. Nothing kills a dream more quickly than doubt.
Now the thing about believing in yourself is that you have to have an accurate perception about yourself and the situation at hand (this is where step one comes into play).
For example, I love to sing and dance. It would be awesome to be like Madonna and have 50,000 people dancing and singing along with me. I think that would be an amazing experience.
However, no matter how much I think it would be amazing, there is no way I will become Madonna, because singing and dancing are not my strong points. I would not risk anything on that dream because I know I do not have what it takes.
Yet I am willing to give up a high paying, secure job to launch my business because I believe in myself. My business is based on what I have learned and studied for over thirteen years. I know my subject and field like I know the back of my hand. I have no doubt about my potential and/or talent. I also know that I am capable of learning more and that makes me even more secure in knowing that I am on the right path.
It is easier to take a risk when you believe that you can achieve what you are trying to do.

3. Surrender the Outcome

What usually prevents people from taking a risk is the fact that the outcome is not guaranteed. None of us are able to predict exactly what the future will bring. Therein lies the beauty of life.
Do you really want to know ahead of time what will happen? I realize that a lot of fear about the future is rooted in the concern about whether or not you will be okay.
If there is anything I have learned in my years in search of enlightenment it is this: you will always be okay and you will always land on your feet. You will also have what you need at any given moment. You may not always get what you want but that can be a blessing. For what you want is not always good for you.
When I look back at all my failed romances (and there were many), I am so grateful that none of those relationships worked out.
Things happen for a reason. The Universe is not stupid. Sometimes you will not know the exact reason for years to come. That is why it is important to surrender the outcome of any given situation.
So what does this mean? That means that you give your best to the present moment and trust that it will lead you exactly to where you need to be.
Life has an interesting way of working things out. Your job is to know what it is that you want. Visualize the feeling that you want to have. Many times people say that they want a lot of money. Actually, what they want is not so much the money but rather the sense of security.
So visualize every single feeling that you want to have. Imagine all the details but let go of the timetable and how it will show up. Your job is to give your best at any given moment. The how and the when are not your responsibility.
A small acorn eventually becomes a huge oak tree. It does that without any help from you. The same holds true for you. Plant the seeds, water them and do whatever else you need to do but let things develop in their own way and time.

Parting Words on Overcoming Fear

Shakespeare said that “life is a stage and we each must play a part.” We have the choice whether we want to play our role small or if we want to aim for an Oscar worthy performance. The choice is ours. We get out of life as much as we put into it.
Fear and risk does exist in all aspects of life. However, we become a slave to our fears only when we allow ourselves to be intimidated by it. Fear only becomes real when we believe that it is real.
Having a life that we love is our birthright. We are meant to be our best and enjoy this journey. In Buddhism, it is said that to be born as a human being is the biggest blessing of all. For in human form, we can do amazing things.
So please do not waste the precious gift you have on fear. You are capable of doing wonders. Fear is not the boss of you….you are the boss of it. Decide today that you can and will overcome your fears.
