Leave disease and illness in 2008, renew your mind daily on The Well-Side.For many years I suffered with several illnesses and was told that it was normal. Then I realized the importance of food and how it can heal the body. I released my ownership of disease and illness and decided to choose Wholeness. I can hear my body more clearly; I make better choices, and live with the respect of self and others. So I ask you, “What are you possessing?” On this last day of 2008 make the choice to renew your Total Body-Consciousness daily by making choices that add to you.You no longer have to live a life where food is your enemy.Tips to come to The Well-SideAche or pain - find the root cause of the issue before using medication to mask the symptom.Proactive - ask questions when you visit your care provider, know your body, never take possession of a diagnosis, seek options to make an informed choice to eradicate the cause of the illness.Self-Love – respect yourself enough to get the proper rest (no just sleeping), take time to spend alone to meditate/pray, be honest with yourself and others, know when and how to say “NO!”Leave the baggage behind – let go of foods you know are not working for you. Stop trying to convince yourself that this is the last time, find an alternative.Recreate – if you do not like your reflection change it. Stop receiving how others define you and create yourself for who you are (Be-come who you desire to BE). You make your own reality.Exercise – do it. Start small and increase but get started. Walk, jump rope, roller skate, run, play with your children, too many options for excuses. If you do not make these changes for yourself think of those who love and care for you, do it for them. Why shorten your life when you can live a long abundant life.“Total Body-Consciousness possess yours in 2009”Say this until you begin to live it “Wellness is Mine in 2009!”

Journey to Beautiful Healthy Hair...AGAIN

Starting Point

I didn’t really make any New Year’s resolutions, but I did set a goal for my hair for this year. I am going on an exciting vacation in July and I want my hair to be at its absolute best. For the first couple of years of my hair journey, I took impeccable care of my hair. I washed, deep conditioned it and twisted it faithfully. I experienced growth OUT OF THIS WORLD. My hair grew longer in two years than it had ever grown during my lifetime. Since I’ve become and entrepreneur and I pretty much working around the clock, I’ve neglected my own hair terribly. I’ve gone from washing it weekly to every other week! Sometimes it gets deep conditioned, sometimes it doesn’t. I use to take time to separate my hair before washing it to avoid the dreadful detangling process, now I just jump in the shower, wash and go! Before I go any further I would like to take this moment to apologize to my lovely tresses and to tell them that I do love them and I am begging for their forgiveness! Fortunately my hair didn’t get too damaged because it was in such great condition to start, but I am looking to gain 4” of new growth (trimming 1” so ending with about 3”) by July. I want my hair to be SUPER soft, manageable, and healthy so here’s what my regimen will be:•Get braid extensions•Wash EVERY Friday (Sweet Nature Natural Shampoo) http://www.fabulousblackwoman.com/Shampoo.html•Deep Condition Every Friday (Sweet Nature Stimulating Deep Conditioner) http://www.fabulousblackwoman.com/LoveDeepConditioner.html•Moisturize Daily (Sweet Daily Growth Spray) http://www.fabulousblackwoman.com/Moisturizingspray.html•Apply Growth Serum every other day (Sweet Nature follicle stimulator) http://www.fabulousblackwoman.com/spiritfolliclestimulator.html•Massage daily for 10 minutes•Take vitamins Daily http://www.fabulousblackwoman.com/HairVitamins.html•Get extension re-done every 6-8 weeksCheck out OVER 120 Testimonials on Sweet Nature products!http://public.fotki.com/AngelNapps/guide-to-growing-yo/book/viewcomments.html

The Path to Success Starts with Education!

The path to success begins with education.Education increases understanding; Understanding creates compliance; Compliance brings forth results. Results equal success.I have 5 lbs to go to reach my goal weight. I should be happy, right??? WRONG! I have to lose 5 lbs of fat. Do you have any idea how hard it is to target body fat???I bet you don't. Fat is a stored energy source. Fat is used as a last resort, just in case something crazy happens and we run out of other preferred sources of energy (carbohydrates).I kind of liken it to getting clothes out of your closet vs getting clothes out of storage--it's alot easier to walk over to your closet and pick out an outfit, rather than searching through the clothes you've stored away and picking out an outfit. It can be quite difficult to rid our bodies of excess fat.Find out why here.

Check out the Transitions Lifestyle System.Transitions Weight Management System, based on science, educates and enables you to reach your target weight successfully.Join our community and learn:-Why calorie restriction can have detrimental effects on your long term weight management goals (How many times has Kirstie Alley been through Jenny Craig???)-Why your fitness routine must be personalized to optimize your weight loss goals-The difference between qualitative calories and quantitative calories (How can a salisbury steak and a piece of cheesecake be the same amount of points???)Transitions is a comprehensive lifestyle system that targets body composition and metabolism and utilizes the latest in science and technology to help you achieve your weight loss goals and be healthy! Our plan doesn't focus just on food like many other systems. Everything's BIG in Texas!

Ok, so my 20 year old son decided he would fix dinner tonight--Spaghetti, Salad and Texas Toast. I know most of you are wondering how I can have a 20 year-old son, when I'm only 25, but that's another story for a different day....Anyhow, I am a Weight Management Consultant. Well, that's one of the hats I wear. I am happy to say that I've helped many reach and maintain their optimum weight through Transitions, my company's weight management system.I decided that this year would be the year for me to lose those last terrible 10.So, our dinner tonight wasn't too bad: spaghetti sauce, minimal carbs; angel hair pasta, cooked al dente, medium carb content; salad--no carbs; Texas Toast--CARB COUNT OF THE CHARTS!!!!Have any of you ever had Texas Toast? If you have, then you know you can't open the freezer and look at it and not end up stuffing your face with it within 5 minutes. But, does it have to be sooo decadent????This is how it's described on the Pepperidge Farm website (Pepperidge Farm--need I say more?) "Thick, melt-in-your-mouth toast is topped with herbs and garlic or cheese. Sinfully-rich slices heat up in your oven in just 5 minutes". Who can resist THAT??? Then they have the nerve to post the nutrition information!Texas Toast GarlicNutrition Facts*Amount per Serving (serving size) = 1SliceCalories 150 Sugars 1gTotal Fat 7g Protein 3gSat. Fat 2gTrans Fat 3g % Daily Values**Cholesterol 0mg Vitamin A 0%Sodium 190mg Vitamin C 0%Total Carb. 18g Calcium 0%Dietary Fiber 2g Iron 6%Seven grams of fat and 18 grams of carbs in 1 slice of bread (who eats just one). And 150 calories--but, fortunately, we focus on fat loss; we don't count calories! ;~)Being a Weight Management Consultant, I am privy some of the tricks of the trade that can keep some of the food I eat from clinging to these hips of mine. Here are three quick tips for my fellow Texas Toast lovers out there:1) Drink an 8 ounce glass of warm lemon water first thing in the morning. This aids your gall bladder in processing fat.2) Eat a salad (or any raw veggies) before your main meals. This will slow down the digestive process and minimize the conversion of glucose to fat.3) Break up your main meals. You've probably heard this before, but eating smaller more frequent meals really does help to improve the body's metabolism.Unfortunately, there are no quick tips to help my with my love of Texas Toast. I'll probably have to take care of Texas Toast the old-fashioned way and work it off!Ginger Jones, NCBusiness Development
