What is the difference between a franchise and network marketing business model? I meet a lot of people who are not sure of the differences, but if you plan on becoming a business owner you should be knowledgeable of different business models.

Franchise

A franchise is the right or license granted by a company to an individual or group to market it's products or services in a specific territory (dictionary.com) In other words, you (franchisee) would be a third party owner of an already established company (franchiser). You would be given access to the trademarked goods, advertising and marketing methods, and services of a company. You would be given certain territories and continuous training to maintain the franchise. Some franchises need actual buildings or locations and products like a Starbucks or Subway. Others might just provide the material to get started like an interior design franchise that would give you all of your swatches. In exchange for these perks, you would pay a percentage of your gross income and fees to the company. The start up fees of a franchise can range from $8,000 to millions of dollars.

The advantages of owning a franchise is that the company will provide you with all the materials you need to get started. Including logo use, uniforms, and interior furniture and design. You also have support from the company to make your business successful.

The disadvantages of owning a franchise are that you have to be in a location or territory chosen by the franchiser. Therefore, you will work long hours concentrating on the success of your business. If you don't work, you do not make money. But for those who are passionate, it is worth it. You also have restrictions on how your business is operated and have to take inventory on all of the products brought into the store. There is training available, but you have to adhere closely to the policies. Another disadvantage is that you have to pay the franchiser a percentage of the stores sales. You do not get to keep all of the money you make.

Network Marketing

Also known as Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is a business model in which an independent contractor is compensated for their personal sales and the sales of others they ask to join their team, creating a residual income (residual means continuous). A legit network marketing business is established to help advertise or MARKET a product. Instead of spending millions of dollars on advertising for television, radio, or through ads, a company offers the product to independent distributors or contractors that do the advertising for them. Therefore the millions of dollars that would have gone into the advertising would go directly to the sales force. As an independent contractor, you also get paid for building teams of people that are doing the same thing you are. Because you are marketing a product you usually have to purchase product monthly to have it on hand for your use and as samples. Start-up fees are very minimal ranging from free to $500.

The advantages of a network marketing business are that anyone can do it. Because the start-up fees are so minimal, anyone can learn to operate the business. You also receive everything you need to start including training. The training can help develop business knowledge and for some build self-confidence. As an independent contractor the only money or fees you are paying to the company is the product you order monthly. Otherwise you get to keep all of your earning income. Another advantage is that you do not have to have a location or territory. You can run your business from anywhere. You also have total control of your working hours. Most people start out running their business part-time, but once they see the fruits-of-their-labor, decide to go full time.

One disadvantage of owning a network marketing business is the turn-around time on seeing an income. Robert Kyosaki said "The reason most people do not reach the top is simply because they quit too soon". A lot of people assume they can start making money overnight but do not realize it takes time to build an empire. Another disadvantage of network marketing is the negative perception that the business model is a "pyramid scheme". A "pyramid scheme" is when someone invests in a company and sees no results: No product, no income, no training, and no owner. If you have found interest in a company that does not have easy access to the creators or has no clear policy on how you build a business or a cancellation policy but want you to pay, then yes, it's a pyramid scheme. All the money is going to someone at the top (hence the "pyramid"), and they are laughing all the way to the bank. A legit network marketing business would have all of these things and more accessible to anyone interested in hearing about their products.

So as you can see there are pros and cons to both business models, you just need to decide which one is best for you. I decided network marketing was the best option for me. My team prides themselves on helping people and educating them on how health can build wealth. What type of business model is best for you? It's never to late to find one. We can help you find the one that's best for you. Contact us today!

You know what I hate most about being an internet marketer?

Subscribing to dozens of monthly recurring tools and

services that I barely know how to use.

To top it off, its a pain to remember usernames and

passwords to each one :)

My friends Cedrick, Kenny, and Jim have a solution

for that.

Check it out:

Seriously, don't ignore this.  Be sure to go to the link

in this email now.  This is seriously the greatest all in

one tool suite that I have seen in the last 5 years.

Still can't believe that these guys managed to pull it off!

So, today I'm going to briefly discuss the difference between business and sizzle cards. First, what are business cards? Usually business cards are bits of information with your name, business information, phone numbers to reach you and email address. EVERYONE should have a business card. Even if you don't necessarily own a business. It's just an easier, classier, neater way to pass on your information when you meet someone.SIZZLE cards ( also known as drop cards) although sometimes the same size as business cards, have an advertisement as opposed to just your information. They are often masked as $5, $10, $20, or $100 dollar bills. For example: As you're walking down the street, you see a $100 bill and pick it up. You think you’ve hit the jackpot but instead it’s a card that reads: Tired of Living Paycheck to Paycheck? Earn $2000-$3000 Part Time! Call now for more information. 555-555-5555See? There’s a hot, SIZZLING message that allows your prospects to make the choice to call and create their own jackpot, or not. Now of course the point is to pass out or drop as many of these cards as you can because the odds of someone getting in touch with you then are much better then giving 5 o 10 out a day. Do your research. There are plenty of great Sizzle Card companies, that have good messages and quality cards to offer. So, today I’m going to create my own electronic SIZZLE card. These are great to post on different sites as well. Here's my ELECTRONiC sizzle card:------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WOULD AN EXTRA $600 A MONTH HELP YOU OUT?Tired of being short a few dollars every month? I've been talking to some ambitious friends AGAIN! And this particular friend has an actual clothing line coming out. We were talking about how he would go about copyrighting his brand name and the logo and I realized that there might be more up-and-coming merchandisers/designers that don't know about this process. So, this week, I'm going to talk about how to copyright your logo, website, blog or business name. OR in using the actual term, TRADEMARK your "stuff". I used 'copyright' in the title because most people confuse the two. However, as I researched this subject I found out some interesting things...

Copyright is actually not the same as a trademark. According to the U.S. Copyright Office, a copyright provides protection for original works in the realms of music, poetry, movies, literature, etc. In fact, copyright exists as soon as the publication exists. It is just advised to register your publication with the U.S. Copyright Office for legal purposes. Some people also like to publish the copyright facts on their publications and make sure there is public record. Registration fees vary from $35 to $80. And it's more to renew, get copies or search copyright records. Believe it or not, people steal ideas so you want to make sure you're protected. And for a mere $35 at least, I'd say it's a good idea to make sure your writings are safe, LEGALLY.

Now to the good stuff. A trademark is what is used to protect patents, trademarks, and ideas. This is handled in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). So a business name, logo or even business idea would fall under the trademark category. It is often confused with copyright but now you know the difference. The reason you would want to register for a trademark is to get legal use of a service mark (™,℠,®) for your word, phrase, symbol, or design.

The benefits of getting the service mark is to protect your name! Keep people from stealing your ideas. Just like with copyright, if you claim ownership, you can use the ™ and ℠ symbols on your business name or logo at any time. But owning the federal trademark registration obviously has it's benefits legally. Some of which include, being able to defend your logo in federal courts, being listed in the USPTO database, and the use of the ® symbol. YES! You MUST be registered with the USPTO to use that symbol on your logos, etc. You can't even use it if your application for registration is pending. So there are great benefits to registering your business name and logo.

Now, keep in mind, the USPTO has the right to deny your registration application. Especially if there's a similar logo. So, you need to research and make sure your business name and logo are UNIQUE and fit federal regulations. When filing an application for trademark registration (or to get a service mark) you must file one application per category(class) you the need the service mark for. FOR EXAMPLE, if you need a service mark for a t-shirt logo AND for the store marquee, you must submit two applications. Application fees vary from $275-$325, depending on the type of application you submit.

I know it sounds a bit complex and confusing but registering your business name and logo are so worth the protection. Especially if you're an owner that offers services/goods, merchandiser, designer, or inventor that's about to BLOW UP!  You can of course find out more and get an application at www.USPTO.gov.

So I went to an event this weekend, and had a blessed time! It was so good that afterwards, I was ready to purchase some merchandise. Fortunately, I was first in line. Unfortunately, I didn't have small bills and they didn't take check. BUT they did take debit card. So I gave them my card to run, and it took FOREVER! They were using an Apple computer, but whatever program it was, it was not working fast enough. The line of 1 person grew to 6 in a matter of minutes. I even ended up having to enter my information myself! With all that said, all I could think about was if that was a different Apple product, the iPad, they wouldn't have this problem. And it's so true. The iPad has so many benefits for an entrepeneur. Whether you need to take credit cards, keep customer information, or communicate with employess in other states or countries (with the new iPad2), the iPad is for you. Today I'm just going to share brief information about the apps, accessories and secrets about the iPad I enjoy. One of the great things about the iPad is that you can download applications or apps to it, and make it do pretty much anything you want :0. There is an excellent app for people that take credit cards called Square. Square allows business owners to accept credit cards and it's FREE. All you have to do is download the app and then sign up for an account and BOOM. 3 days later, they send you a small card reader that connects to your iPad! It's wonderful. And definitely would've benefitted the merchants at the event :)Another app that's great for keeping up with customer information Bento. Not only can does it store customer information like phone numbers and order history, but it keeps you organized as well. You can manage your personal contacts and keep a schedule, you can also create "To-do" lists. It's a great application to keep you on track.Oh don't worry, if you're a writer or trying to pitch some ideas for some dinero, or need flyers for you there's an app for you too. Pages allows you to create sales presentations and flyers for any and all of your business needs.  And alongside Pages you need Keynote which helps create powerpoint presentations. Both apps go hand-in-hand. Although there's a minimal fee for each, it's definitely worth it.One accessory you might enjoy are the bluetooth keyboard, which comes in handy for those big projects that have a lot of typing. Also a cool accessory is the camera connection kit which allows you to upload pictures from your camera onto your iPad. One thing I have discovered about the iPad and love is that if you click the "home" button twice, you can see all of the windows you're working with and go back and forth. Another cool feature is that you can create a passcode to get into your iPad. Makes it kind of personal so only you can get in it!Now, to find out about all the other cool features the iPad offers, you have to get one! The new iPad2 has just come out and the prices range from $499-$829. So consider the iPad for all your business needs. It is definitely worth it's purchase.www.garrisonprosperitysolutions.com

I Fired My Boss...

When I walked out those doors I said I wasn't going back and I meant it. I didn't know how it was going to happen and apart of me feared facing the reality of what would happen if it didn't but THANK YOU GOD for hearing my prayers... and I mean I PRAYED! I still can't believe it's real!

I just couldn't do it anymore. If I said that part of me wasn't thinking "What the heck are you doing girl?" I'd be lying. But that fact of the matter is I just walked away from a Fortune 50 company not a Fortune 50 paycheck and the sad part is I realized that it was never going to happen. I earned my Bachelor's degree while pregnant with the twins and then spent my Master's program pregnant and dealing with the new baby. In between degrees (and in a period of 1 1/2 years) I applied for eight promotions and received eight denials, some without any explanation. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was applying for a position within my own department, having my supervisors tell me I wasn't qualified, hiring a mail and file clerk giving her a minimum $20-$30k increase and then asking me to train her. HA!! If that isn't the biggest slap in the face, but I digress...

Needless to say I began to plan my exit strategy. I wish I had a great elaborate story for you that speaks of how I waltzed into my boss' office on a random day and dropped the bomb on them. How I stuck it to "the MAN" just when he thought he had me down but that's not what happened. The truth of it all is that I devised a plan. My exit strategy was well thought out and I had the great benefit of working and building my business with the security of having a job and being on maternity leave allowed me to be at home full time with nothing to do but learn while receiving a paycheck. Still, without gaining and applying knowledge I know that this would have never happen and that without deciding to take action I could have just as easily been returning to that dead-end job.

I know know you're thinking "Girl in this economy? People are dying for jobs and you're giving yours up?" YES!! I am! See when everything in the world is going right people get complacent. Dreams fade away because jobs are secure and many just coast along earning what they feel is a decent paycheck. But the last few years has shown many of that nothing is guaranteed. A new supervisor that doesn't like you, changes in policy, a failing/failed economy can put you on the wrong side of poverty faster than you can blink. Maybe you know someone this happened to... maybe it happened to you. Regardless, now is the time to take control of your own destiny... to fight the power so to speak. The greatest movements in history that produced real change came when people decided enough was enough and claimed freedom for themselves.

As I've said many times my reason for creating Maven On a Mission was not so much about internet/network marketing and signing people into my opportunities but more about giving moms who want to be home with their children the opportunity to do so. I've learned so much in the past 6 months to a year about being a real entrepreneur... an UNSTOPPABLE ENTREPRENEUR that I can't wait to share with you all. So much value has been poured into me knowingly and unknowingly that there is nothing for me to do but to pour it back out. I genuinely want to see you home with your children (or working from home period) if that's where you desire to be.

To those of you that have been following this blog, thank you for your continued support and to those just joining, welcome, welcome, welcome. Stay tuned... this is going to be a ROCKIN journey!

Wishing you growth and prosperity!

Well, hello! If you're just joining us, you'll see I've been writing blogs for a few months now( the one in 2010 was, "99 days to Win in 2010" ) and it's been a blast. It may come as a surprise to some, or confusion to others, but believe it! This is a part of the many hats that I wear. I LOVE helping others with business matters. My goal is to educate as many people as I can on all business details. Whether you own a Subway or a Network Marketing Coin Business, I can help! So click FOLLOW to the right and follow my blog for 2011, "Get Your Blessin' in 2011: Business Ideas & Advice" (www.businessadvice2011.blogspot.com).

So today's topic was touched on last year but I'm going there again. For a few weeks we will be focusing on building a proper and working business plan, website and/or blog, and marketing strategies. So let's start with the website(my book on building a business plan is coming out in February! Keep your eyes and ears open for it!). Anyhow, I was thinking about all the action I get from my site, and wanted to talk to you about how to build a successful website, for....(wait for it...) FREE! There are several resources for this and if you know anymore, follow my blog and comment below with your suggestions. But lets start with wix.com. I'm not too familiar with this site, but it allows a lot of video and flash player options. Tis really cool for a unique website, trying to reach a more chic crowd.

Another resource that I like is...Weebly.com! I found Weebly to be very easy to use. You don't even need a domain name they can give one to you and you're set. I have a hard time sitting for a long time trying to figure things out and with Weebly I didn't have any formulas to decode or vast instructions to read. Weebly has numerous templates you can use that will fit any business you are marketing. You can also monetize your site (that means MAKE MONEY!). Weebly has Google Adsense AND an affiliate program you can all use for....(here it is again)FREE!

For a very minimal monthly fee you can receive the following features: audio player, password protection, up to 10 websites, more MB space and MORE! I don't need those features CURRENTLY, but I look forward to upgrading my membership.

I highly suggest Weebly.com as a tool to create your website! It's fun, it's simple and it's....(drum roll please) FREE! Check it out! Talk to you soon!

Tamara

P.S. If you are not sure of what type of business you want to market or build a website for, check out my website or email me at tgarrison11@gmail.com. I can help you find a business you would be interested in starting (trust me, I have my ways)! If you have any questions about a domain name, or any of these resources, email me at tgarrison11@gmail.com. I'll be happy to answer your questions.

Act Your Wage

Interesting title right? Well think about it. Do you act like what you are worth? When you step out of your house do you look like a potential billionaire :0? Do you look like a professional? Do you look like someone others would want to work with??? Ask yourself these questions and if you can answer "NO" to any of them, then "Houston, we have a problem!" Even if you just started yesterday, you need to realize you now have a responsibility to build your business (if you want to be successful). And the only way that happens is through YOU.You have to think about how you present yourself when talking about business or having people rely on you for business services. This is also important for those that have a 9 to 5. If you want a raise but wear jeans everyday...even if there is no dress code, they probably won't take you too seriously. If you want a promotion but you come late everyday, you probably haven't even been considered for a promotion. When you purchase a franchise, MLM or any type of business venture, you then have a responsibility to grow it and show people what you have to offer. If you have a cosmetics company but never wear any of your products, why would people want to buy anything from you? If you own a health and wellness business, but don't appear "healthy", why would people want to use your product? If you don't look like anyone that can be successful in business, then it might be hard to get your feet off the ground. So think about it....do you act your wage??

Today is a special day. I have had the pleasure of interviewing Mrs.Tamyka Washington, The CEOmamma! She is a successful business women, that resides in Talhassee, Florida. She teaches women "how to use social media and network marketing to build a profitable business and create the lifestyle they desire and deserve." (www.theceomamma.com) So at this time, I'm so excited to introduce everyone to Tamyka Washington, founder and CEO of http://www.theceomamma.com/!

1. Tell me your story. What were you doing before you started your own business?I am a wife, mom to five with baby number 6 on her way in February and entrepreneur! I work full-time from home operating two businesses, my primary business is with a wonderful Network Marketing company and I've recently started my own Marketing & Consulting business.

Prior to starting my first business in 2002, I worked a few service based and retail jobs that kept me away from my, then three children. I always knew having my own business was what I definitely wanted and I was

determined to make it happen.

2. What made you want to start a business and what is your mission? What made me want to start a business was my desire to be a stay-at-home mom but still be able to contribute to the household income. My passion was to help women like me, who wanted something more while keeping their personal priorities at the top of the list.

My mission was and still is today, to help women achieve their dreams of being successful business

owners by sharing my years of experience and knowledge.

3. What inspires you? What keeps you movtivated daily to keep growing your business? What keeps me inspired is the many thanks and appreciation I get from women I help regularly, get to where they want to be in their business. I have a great love for Social Media, Network Marketing and Blogging and It is my passion to be able teach women how to build and market their business on a budget, the same way I did and continue to do.

I'm motivated everyday by my children. It was because of them I started my first business and continue to

build a legacy for them. As they grow into young adults, it makes me proud to know they too, want to be

entrepreneurs!

4. Do you have a mentor? Who is it and why? Do you believe it's important to have one?At this time, I do not have a personal mentor, however, I have in the past and currently connect with others in my industry who inspire me and encourage me to be my absolute best. Having a mentor is valuable because it will allow you to have someone in your corner to not only look up to but to help you along your journey. A real mentor will be aware of your goals and dreams and help you regularly by holding you accountable for your actions (or lack of) to help you grow.

5. What would you tell someone who wants to get involved in your line of business but doesn't know how to get started? My first piece of advice would be to really be sure it is something you want to do and have a true passion for it. Starting any business is not easy and takes a certain level of commitment of time and dedication. You may not even see a profit for months but you have to be willing to stick with it because you love it.

To get started and be successful, you have to be willing to do the research and continue to learn everything you need to know within the industry. Tracking results and trying new methods is how you will grow productively and be effective.

6. What advice would you give to someone with an entrepeneur spirit? My advice would be to go for it! If you believe in yourself and have the drive, do it no matter what. There will be times that people won't support your vision or understand your dream but you should never give up!

Thank you Tamyka for your time! To learn more about Tamyka, visit her website at http://www.theceomamma.com/.

This is so tragic!!! Failing! I can't stand that word actually. It is so negative! And it's sad that failing is a reality for some business owners. Briefly, I will share with you the 5 reasons why most people fail :( in their first 30 days! Forget about the first year! Some people don't even make it that long!

1. Lack of training: Some people you decide to do business with might tell you something like: they provide free training, you're in business for yourself but not by yourself, call in every day at this time for an automated training message, etc etc. They tell you how simple it is to build a business and get you all revved up to jump in and start making truckloads of money and then you never hear from them again! Unfortunately, this happens all too often and new business owners are left to figure things out on their own. It is very important that you find a mentor to partner up with and help you along as you build your business.

2. Lack of focus: Let's be real here, you were just going along with your life and then all of a sudden you decided to start a business! Great decision, but the problem is that your life continues and you never adjust it to fit in your business! It takes TIME and dedication to build a successful business.

3. Lack of strategy: Can we say, BUSINESS PLAN? How many of you have ever enrolled in school WITHOUT a plan or blueprint of your 4 years at the institution! NO ONE HAS! You HAVE to have to plan for the things you want to succeed in.

4. Unwillingness to get down and dirty: If you are NOT uncomfortable within the first 18 months (at maximum) of your business, then you're doing something WRONG! It's ok for you to be uncomfortable calling or following up with people. Its ok to be uncomfortable telling someone about what you do and maybe asking them to join you. It's ok to be uncomfortable going to training sessions by yourself. It's ok to be UNCOMFORTABLE! Because believe it or not, eventually you WON'T be uncomfortable. And it will be apart of your routine. YOU HAVE TO BE CONSISTANT!

5. No desire or passion: This is a huge one! I always tell people they have enjoy the business they're in! Why would you have a traveling business but hate to travel? You have to be passionate about what you do! When you have passion for your business you will have a desire to succeed! And eventually all of these 5 reasons, although obstacles, will be triumphs!

The thing that seperates SUCCESSFUL business owners from the FAILED ones is that they keep trying. Whats the old saying? "IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, TRY, TRY AGAIN!" There are even 2 trys in there! So you've got to stay motivated, stay prayerful, and stay positive when going through the excitements and woes of starting a business.

The Two-Fold Problem of MLM

Too often people join Multi-Level and Networking Marketing businesses without doing their homework.

After having a successful stint in the industry for five years, I’m compelled to share what I know to be true and how you too can experience success in this fascinating business – online!

Unlike several years ago, you now have the opportunity to leverage the POWER of the Internet. If you’re coachable, teachable and trainable – you’ll succeed with the information contained in this report.

http://bit.ly/sm-networkmarketing

Attempt to look at it this way:

When you begin a new job, you go in not knowing everything it takes to fulfill the position you’ve been awarded but because of your personality, maybe a little experience (maybe not), professionalism and the right attitude – you’re now open to learning – “the unknown”, right?

The Network Marketing Industry can either make or break you – but it can do neither without YOUR input. I chose to listen, read, and apply proven steps that eventually opened up a 5 figure monthly income.

With that said, I’m inviting you to grab a copy of my new guide: Network Marketers: Use Social Media Networks to Attract Your Own Team. It’s a 22 page guide that gets to the nitty gritty of building a successful organization. It’s hype free – which means, there’s no get rich scheme. If you follow the steps, you’ll see results, it’s simple as that.

After reading one of my favorite articles 'Plan With Pizzazz' with Cherly Isaac, she brought up a good point about how a good infomercial must grab the attention of the spectator, be specific, time conscious and seek a direct response from the potential buyer. Although it may look like a simple orchestration on television, an infomercial is actually difficult to do well.

Cheryl stated in the article that "If startup entrepreneurs were to pretend that their business presentations or retail sales were infomercials, a lot could be gained."

asseenontv.jpg

I totally agree with her on that ephiphany! Just look at it this way: At the startup stage of business, you're an unknown. Your struggle is to turn a potential client into a new client. At this point, the potential client has the attention span of a 5-year-old. After all, why should she listen to you? You are not a proven entity, and she is sharing her precious time with you. At the same time, you may be thinking: "I've invested a lot of time, energy and money into this venture and I need to see some return."

Both you and the infomercial creator are wrestling with similar thoughts. You both need to get the customer interested in the shortest time possible, you need a quick response, and you need to showcase the benefits of your product or service.

An infomercial strives to get a response from the viewer. The infomercial has to be explicit in telling the viewer what she must do. Entrepreneurs also need to garner responses from their potential clients. When drafting your proposal, designing your presentation, running your TV or print ad or designing your website, tell your potential client what you want her to do. Use language that is specific, avoid questions, and outline your next steps. For example, most web advisors will tell you to have a "call to action" button on all your web pages. The call to action tells your visitors what you want them to do. For example: Buy Now, Join Now, Call this Number, Apply Now.

An infomercial generates a sale or a lead. Sometimes you run across an infomercial that directs you to call a number and get a free introductory product. This is a lead. Most of the time, they direct you to purchase a product. This is a sale. Some startup entrepreneurs may have varying sales processes. If you have a higher dollar product or service, or a time-consuming service, your potential client may want to get comfortable with you first. You may then try to generate a lead. Another startup could have a low-priced product that needs to be sold on the first try. Figure out where you fall and design your sale or lead generator.

An infomercial has live demonstrations. What seems effortless on your TV screen is usually practiced tirelessly on the back end. The demonstration reveals all aspects of the product, its benefits are showcased, and you are told why you should buy the product. Startups usually have products that are in beta phase. So most of the time, the potential client has to be educated on its similarity to and difference from similarly situated products. Learning how to demonstrate a product's worth or a service's value is a great advantage for a startup entrepreneur.

Responses from an infomercial are measured. One of the top priorities of an infomercial is to perform. People must buy, and sales must be made. The buzz has to be created. Well, startup entrepreneurs have the same priorities. Yet, like infomercials, they too must realize that in order to get a response, specific steps (like the ones mentioned above) must be followed. As a startup, your goal should include measuring the response of your ad, presentation, proposals, etc. Did it work? Can it be done differently? Does it make sense?

SIZZLE CARDS!!!
So today I'm going to briefly discuss the difference between business and sizzle cards. First, what are business cards? Usually business cards are bits of information with your name, line of business, phone numbers to reach you and email address. EVERYONE should have a business card. EVEN IF you don't necessarily own a business. It's just and easier, classier, neater way to pass on your information when you meet someone.

Now, the difference between business and SIZZLE cards is that SIZZLE cards, although sometimes the same size as business cards, have an AD on them as opposed to just your information. They are also sometimes made with dollar bill numbers and faces. For example: As you're walking, you see a $100 bill and pick it up. Instead its a card that reads: Tired of Living Paycheck to Paycheck? Earn $2000-$3000 Part Time! Call now for more information. 555-555-5555

See? Theres a hot, SIZZLING message that allows your prospects to make the choice to call or not. Now of course the point is to pass out as many of these cards as you can because the odds of someone getting in touch with you then are much better then giving 5 to 10 out a day. Do your research. There are plenty of great Sizzle Card companies, that have good messages and quality cards to offer. Tha

Network Marketing is an excellent way for the "average Joe or Jane" to make an extra income. This business concept has been around for decades, and it will not disappear any time soon. The reason for its popularity is simple... It Works! It does however, require lots of work and most importantly, dedication and persistance to get the job done. The best part is, once you are able to set up a solid network, your business becomes MUCH less time intensive. Almost like going on "autopilot". The key is to get there as fast as possible.

Here are just a couple of tips I have found to be helpful in maximizing your Network Marketing Business:

1. Use your products regularly. This is Number 1 for a reason, this is the most ignored part of ANY network marketing business. How do you expect your business to succeed if you will not even use your own products? It does seem silly to even have to bring this up, but there are many who are not using their own products, and wonder why they are not making any money. Make a commitment to use your products for a year, and see where your business goes.

2. Educate yourself constantly. This is very important! You must rid yourself of negative ideas, sometimes referred to as "stinkin thinkin". This can be done in a variety of ways. I recommend reading at least 15 minutes a day, but try to shoot for 30. Business and self-help books are a great way to start. Don't forget your Multi-level magazines, as they are full of tips and advice. Lastly, listen to cassette tapes on multi-level tips from top earners in your business.

3. Spend as much time as possible with your upline. Your upline should have only one goal in mind, To Help You Succeed! They are a vast source of knowledge and information. Mingle with top distributors in your group, or other groups, and ask how they made it. Most everyone should be more than happy to provide you with excellent tips and advice.

4. Present your products and marketing plan personally to at least one person daily. Remember above when I said you are going to have to work, well here it is. Now here is the key, the prospects to whom you present your plan, do not have to be yours personally. Show the plan for your downline, and not only will you create "security" by placing members in your downlines' downline, it will also give you a boost in your personal income! I can guarantee if you were to follow this rule for 6 months, you would create a downline with enough width and depth to create an income to sustain you and your family for life.

5. Care for your downline. An entire book can be written on this topic. Usually, it's the little things that show you really care. Try to maintain regular contact, and always praise your distributor's accomplishments. You can even offer incentives for specific achievements, such as money, travel, recognition, or other rewards, to help motivate your group.

6. Duplicate yourself by making distributors independent of you. This will help to multiply your time, thus making you and your group more effective. Always lead by example. Never stop recruiting, training and retailing. Remember the KISS formula - "Keep It Simple, Sweety" I know, I know, I changed the last word, but it maintains the meaning. This can be done my conducting simple, brief, yet dramatic presentations, and teaching your downline to do the same.

7. Create a large customer base. This is another largely ignored, yet very important, piece of your network marketing business. Many try so hard to build a huge downline, that they forget how much profit they could also make by selling their products to retail customers. Some people will just not want to become part of your downline, no matter how great a product/system you may have. This does not mean they will not be personally interested in your product. Try to make everyone your customer. Once you earn their trust, they will come to you more, and perhaps even join your downline later. Always "leave the door open", as people needs do change.

8. Focus on your customers needs. You must give customers more than they expect, and always satisfy your customers complaints immediately. Try to listen 80% of the time, and talk only 20%. As stated above, your customers can be a huge source of future referrals and/or business. You must earn and maintain their trust. Once you have their trust, you can always ask for referrals, which leads to even more business and a larger downline.

9. Set daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals - and Write Them Down! You may have heard the expression, "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." Breaking up a larger goal into smaller easily attainable goals, is the key to success. You cannot just jump to the end, you have to make progress everyday. Writing them down is another largely ignored, important tip to help you succeed. A goal is just a "passing thought", or "wish" until you put it in writing. That is when it becomes concrete and real. It is also a great idea to keep a business journal of your daily activities, as it will help you to become more productive and time-conscious.

10. Get Out There And Do It Now! All of the knowledge in the world is useless and unprofitable, until you put the most important ingredient of them all in place. This "secret" ingredient should come as no surprise at all, but this is the #1 reason for failure at anything in life. It is ACTION! Remember, knowledge is useless without action.

Following these steps will almost give you immediate results. Thank you for reading this, and I truly hope this has provided you with valuable information to help you and your business grow and succeed.
