Are You Flirting With Me?

I thought I would get your attention!

Whether you love it or hate it, marketing and sales are critical to the life blood of any business. You can make it more fun, if you take the approach that you want to seriously flirt with a growing list of prospects.

Marketing attraction. It sounds like flirting doesn’t it? And in a way, that’s exactly right.

You do want to flirt with your prospects, to allow them to get to know, like, and trust you. Since it takes upwards of 7 touches to make a sale today, you need to attract them to your product, service, or program in many different ways.

One critical element you must have in your basket of attraction tools today is a fully developed web presence.

People are most likely to Google for you or your service or the benefit/solution they seek first. They are less likely to open the telephone book and flip through the yellow pages. The future of your marketing reach is the internet.

Even with the internet, you need an arsenal of marketing strategies to reach your prospects and attract them to your product and services. You can’t flirt with them, if they can’t find you.

Here are a few ideas which you can do quickly and on a budget. They are culled from the likes of Mitch Meyerson, Jay Conrad Levinson, Seth Godin, and Bea Fields.

On your website:

  • Build a powerful direct response entity
  • Make sure your headlines are engaging with a problem/solution approach
  • Direct their eyes to the one thing you want them to do

On your email signature:

  • Include your business contact information, of course
  • Promote one thing – a new product, service, newsletter, auto-responder series, article, free conference call.

This is your best and first opportunity to ask everyone to engage with you and your company

Develop relationships for referral business – complementary services serving the same market niche and get listed on their websites

Include client testimonials – use them in all your printed and online collateral materials.

The hottest new thing is audio and video testimonials you put up on your site.

Use audio and video conferencing from your PC for sales, presentations, meetings. They work effectively for a prospects, clients and vendors.  It’s no longer novel. It’s cost effective, timely, direct, and can be very interactive.

Write articles and press releases about everything you do and get them published in print but more importantly across the web.

Yes, all of these are ideas you can do yourself, burning the midnight oil.

But what’s even better, is that these tools and systems can be delegated and automated – one more way for you to generate more profit in less time.

We have NEW Autoresponder Courses in which you can use for your subscribers to show them how to use quick tips to help grow their business online.

1. Low in calories, high in nutrition

Enjoy a medium-sized pomegranate for 105 nutrient-packed calories.

You’ll also get a hefty dose of blood pressure-lowering potassium, virtually no sodium, one gram of fiber and about 10% of your recommended daily vitamin C intake.
Eight ounces of the juice provides 160 calories and a bit more potassium than a medium-sized pomegranate.

This fruit and their juice have an abundance of antioxidants and phytochemicals as well: anthocyanins (anti-inflammatory, cancer-fighting); catechins (anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory) and ellagic acid (cancer-fighting).

Pomegranate juice raises the antioxidant capacity of the blood.

Antioxidants neutralize damaging free radicals (organic molecules linked to aging, tissue damage and possibly disease) before they have a chance to attack your cells and DNA.

2. Improves heart health
One study found that drinking a little more than 8 ounces of pomegranate juice every day for three months improved blood flow to the heart in people with coronary heart disease.

Forty-five participants drank either the juice or a placebo beverage that looked and tasted like pomegranate juice.

On average, blood flow to the heart improved 17% in the pomegranate group, but declined 18% in the placebo group in merely three months.

Other studies suggest that pomegranate juice might help prevent atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, and even clear clogged arteries.

With atherosclerosis, plaque builds up in the arteries and reduces blood flow, potentially causing heart attack, stroke, or numbness and pain in the arms and legs.

People with diabetes may benefit from pomegranates too, according to a 2006 study in the journal Atherosclerosis.

Cold Calling is the New Black!

Believe it or not, cold calling is still an effective sales tactic. If done properly, you can get the business attention you've been craving. Unfortunately, most of us would rather sit in the dentist chair listening to the smooth sounds of the drill extracting the cavity in the back of our mouth! Cold calling should not make you feel THIS ill. The following 8 tips will help you realize how effective good cold calling can be for your business and maybe ease some of your fears.

busy5-1024x682.jpg

Cold Calling Tip #1: Research your target market.
Make sure you research the market you are interested in calling. Do market research (or google it! Save yourself some time and see what others have done already.) Find out as much as you can about the types of people or companies you're trying to reach. Will there be secretaries or employees answering the phone? Does the phone call go directly to the owner? What do these companies need that you can offer them?

Cold Calling Tip #2: Always have a script.
I know you want to be yourself when you call, as to not have it seem "scripted" or "planned" that you were calling this company. But believe me. If you don't have written down all the details you want to share in the call, you will fumble over the words and get hung up on! Make sure you have a step-by-step script written in advance so you know how to lead the conversation.

Cold Calling Tip #3: Consider sending prospects something before you make the call.
This tip is mostly a suggestion. ESPECIALLY if you have the budget. You do not HAVE to do this to have successful cold calls, but it definitely helps. If you send a promotional item, like something from your product line, something to remember you by, or an informational email. It is easier to get to the person you need to talk to. AND they tend to remember you when you call. Therefore, it is not really a cold call. you're just following up, to make sure they received your gift!

Cold Calling Tip #4: Keep in mind, the gatekeeper is your friend!
The "gatekeeper" is better known as the secretary, employee, receptionist, or relative that keeps the "riff-raff" away. They are there for a reason so you should appreciate them. Get them on your side! A great way to do that is to say, "Maybe you can help me...". Make sure you always get their name and refer to it several times in the conversation.

Cold Calling Tip #5: Focus on your goals and reward yourself.
Make goals for yourself, like if you are calling huge corporations, you will talk to at least 6 owners within the week. Or, if you're contacting small businesses you will get 2 new clients. Remember that cold calling isn't ALL about getting a sale, but a chance to make a sale. If you're able to make some appointments or share what you do with a few people, then you've had a great week. After you have reached your cold calling goals, reward yourself! Have that massage, go to that fav restaurant, get that long-awaited mani/pedi, whatever. But do something to get yourself motivated to keep going!

Cold Calling Tip #6: Be specific.
If you are setting up appointments or call backs, make sure you specify when you will meet. INSTEAD of asking when's good for the customer, say something like, "it would be great to meet up, how would this Thursday at 4pm work for you? No? Well what about Friday at 4pm?"...be specific all the time, so people feel even worse if they bail on you :), that's just reality.

Cold Calling Tip #7: Know the facts.
According to AllBusiness.com, "Eighty percent of new sales are made after the fifth contact, yet the majority of sales people give up after the second call". So don't be that person that thinks, "it's not working". You have to build relationships and work people up to where you want them.

Cold Calling Tip #8: Outsource it!
These calls are not the most fun thing to do with your time. Most of us have other things we need to worry about within our business, that cold calling takes a backseat. So, why not outsource it? Have someone else do it for you! I know what you're saying though, "it's too expensive to hire a professional to make these calls!" But I have news, now it isn't!

Do You Feel It's Time For A Change?

"The Right Kind of Change Can Transform Your Life and Your Business!"
- Trina Newby, Business Success Coach

With June marking the half way point before year-end, I'm focusing on the goals I set for myself and business.  Some of my goals I am on point with and some I have allowed myself to be distracted and have not been so focused.  Below are 5 things that I did to get myself re-focused, so I can accomplish my goals:

  1. Admitted that it was time for a CHANGE!  Yes, that's right I had to quickly face the facts that I what I was doing was not working and that I had to evaluate the changes needed to get better results and meet the goal.
  2. Started eliminating habits that prevent me from reaching my goal.   One habit that I discovered was that I was staying on the internet too long when social networking and checking email.  To remedy this habit, I created a system to check my email and social network and made a commitment to stick with it.  Guess what?  It's working! (Y-E-A-H)
  3. Drawing alliances and creating new partnerships!  I know for sure that in order for me to reach my goals and be successful that I can not do it alone!  I must be willing to bless others and develop relationships with others who compliment what I do and vice-versa.
  4. I evaluate my time schedule morning, noon and night to ensure that I am in alignment with my goals and on schedule with tasks.
  5. I completed a cash flow analysis to determine how I was going to meet my financial goals before the end of this year.

A Special Note for You:

If you're feeling like it's time for a CHANGE, please connect with me.  Let's discuss and let me share with you what's working for me and how you can get more things accomplished in your business as well!

Aside from completing college requirements and child bearing, I would surely say that starting and running a profitable venture is one of the most challenging and rewarding things that a woman could do. Why? Because it takes plenty of thought, planning, and action in order to move a vision from one stage to the next. It’s not easy but when you find your purpose and can operate in it on your own terms, then it certainly makes your efforts much more rewarding.

It doesn’t matter what stage of the game you are in as you build create your venture you are likely to come across some obstacles along the way but as long as you maintain the right attitude and equip yourself with the right resources, then you’ll be able to move from start-up to success.

Here’s a few suggestions for creating a rock solid foundation in your business:

1. Compensate for weaknesses with other’s strengths. You may have an idea for business that requires skills that you do not possess right now but don’t let that stop you. Instead of letting those things stop you in tracks, find someone who can partner with you by providing their skills, talents, or resources. As a good friend of mine once said, If life gives you lemons, turn them into grape juice and let everyone wonder how in the world you did it!

2. Unleash Your Inner Visionary. Your entrepreneurial path is filled with possibilities. Do not be afraid to dream. Think like a visionary. Keep a pad and pencil or a voice recorder handy at all times. You’ll notice strong spurts of inspiration will come to you throughout the day as you are planning, meeting with clients, or relaxing over a cup of tea. As the ideas form inside your mind take some time to write down what you want things to look like. From there you will be able to build upon them in a structured, cohesive, and strategic way.

3. Maintain a Posture of Perseverance. As you are building your company, resolve to work diligently at it every single day. Never allow people who do not understand your vision to distract you. If your idea needs work then get the advice of other business owners and experts who have experience in your industry. Be open to approach them and to ask them questions. Remember they were once in your shoes and many are willing to give back in the form of mentoring until your company gets off the ground.
