Where have I been? Well, it has been an incredible year for me. When I welcomed 2010, I had no idea what was in store, I had my dreams, wishes, hopes and prayers on the line but as always, I kept myself open to allow things to happen and boy did they.
Where should I begin? 2010 has proven to be a year of empowerment. It was the year that my professional life took on a completely different turn. I was appointed to serve in a position that allows me to make a huge difference in healthcare. A dream position only I didn't even dream or think about it. However, once the opportunity was presented, I accepted it without blinking. It was the answer to my other dreams, the ones I actually had.
By May not only was I appointed to a five year term, I had the nerve to proclaim that we're going to do an Off Broadway Show based on the audio book series, The Day That Changed My Life Cancer an uncertain journey. I know, sounds ridiculous doesn't it border line insane. I'm sure that's what my family thought as well. However, I knew we could do it. I spoke to my husband about it and he thought it was a big stretch, but knowing me, he knew I would have to do it first and see how impossible or difficult it would be for me to be convinced not to go through with it. So he went along with me just for peace sakes.
Next up my daughter, a singer/songwriter. I told her that I needed a theme song for the play. Of course there was no script but the concept was there and that's all I needed. Being my daughter, she fell for it and in no time contacted a Grammy winning producer whom she is currently working with and the song was on it's way to being written and produced.
My other daughter, who bless her heart did not see me coming, was in for the awakening of her life - one that I recently invaded. Word on the home front was that she was interested in becoming a screenwriter and had recently taken a course and that was it for me. I found my playwright. We had a meeting, I threw out my ideas, discussed the premise and other details and by the end of our meeting, she agreed to write the play.
Next up, my brother in-law. A professional at marketing & promotions on a large scale - we're talking major in entertainment/corporate. He directed the photo shoot for the poster, worked on ideas for the web site and other areas to make it happen.
My adopted daughter worked as the assistant from placing the ads for the auditions, working on the auditions, creating flyers, doing the foot work, making calls and filling in where needed. By the time we hit the stage for opening night, it was all hands on deck. Whether it was making the audience gift bags, loading the van, setting up and working behind the scenes, everyone, all of my children and their friends were on board.
After literally pulling together the in house resources we were on board to see it through from auditions, meetings, rehearsals, photo sessions, auditions, finding a venue, auditions, costumes, props, stage manager, tickets, on air interviews, blogging, show programs, poster, make up artist, video-documentary and more. All this to say, it was in no way easy. From May to October, we pulled it off and to rave reviews -- from strangers!
During this exciting period, I traveled for meetings and conferences as a speaker and consultant. I was also the keynote speaker for a High School graduation. I worked more than I ever did and enjoyed every moment of it even through the most challenging situations. The challenges were really motivators for me. They kept me on my toes, never thinking it cannot be done but instead we're on a roll here - no time to stop. Perhaps we slowed down a bit then roll over or around it. In the end, it always worked in our favor.
The end of 2010 and my husband directed an Off Broadway Play in New York City in the Lincoln Center area, produced by me, my daughters playwright and theme song composer - my entire family can say that they had an experience they never imagined to be a part in - I sure didn't. I can tell you that there were those who wondered if anyone would be interested in seeing a play about cancer, well let me share with you, we had an audience of survivors, folks who heard about the play and flew in to see it, repeaters to see the other nights performances, etc. In fact, we have people asking for us to return so others can see.
I had planned to complete my book this year but unless I can write a book in the next 24 hours, it will have to go on the list for the upcoming year. So as usual, I have my dreams, wishes, hopes and prayers for the things I would love to accomplish in 2011. Who knows what else is in store for me? I have no idea but you guessed it, I can't wait to find out.

Social networking sites revolutionized the way we do business online since initially being introduced in the mid 1990's.
With instant access to your target audience, and the ability to keep a steady pulse on what our market is currently interested in, it has never been easier to connect with potential buyers and long-term customers.
Women’s Empowerment incorporates various components that when successfully integrated will yield a greater return on your endeavors.
As a woman you have many demands on your time, however, if you add that of being a woman entrepreneur it can be a very frustrating task to leverage your time. It may seem that the more you try to balance out your day the less time you end up with.
Do you feel like your day is spent in “firefighter” mode – putting out one emergency blaze after another?
You can easily spend eight hours or more at the beck and call of the urgent activities on your list: The phone call that comes right when you’re sitting down to do some much-needed strategic planning, the unexpected invitation to contribute to a blog round-up, the desperate plea for a last-minute speaker on an industry teleconference. While these all might be worthy tasks, they’re not necessarily related
to your high-level goals. And as a result, the time you’ve set aside for your important activities can be usurped by the tyranny of the urgent.
It is very tempting to check emails all day every hour or answer your phone overtime it rings.
If you want to manifest your EMPIRE by moving toward the next levels quickly you must have a system for focusing on important tasks instead of the urgent ones.
Here are five tips for prioritizing
1. Set expectations. I’ve had mixed feedback on this one. I’ve developed a system and enforce it so that I can remain healthy and sane. When doing this one you must get over what people think of you and commit to what you’ve set as an action to support your empowering success. You train people how to treat you and what to expect from you. If you always respond to their emails immediately, they’ll grow to expect immediate answers. Slowly wean them from expecting you to be on-call, 24/7.
2. Create No distraction zones. Although you may be tempted to shut down your phone, email and other interruptions for 8 – 10 hours, it’s actually not practical to turn off your phone ringer for 8 hours straight, or to check your email only once a day. But you can set up zones where you limit outside interruptions. Start with a no email time first thing in the morning. Institute a quiet time first thing in the morning for one hour.
Get to the cash producing activities before you check email. Once you’ve adjusted to this you can add another quiet zone, maybe in the afternoon right before you quit working. This way you can close your day and have a fresh empowering start the next day.
3.Know what “important” is. No more 10 item to do lists. You have to have your high-level goals in front of you, literally and figuratively. You must know what you’re trying to accomplish this month, this week, today, so you can filter your activities accordingly.
4. Create systems to support your new habits. This one tip has done wonders for some of my clients that I’ve shared it with. Email in-box filters that shuffle non-critical newsletters and group emails to another filter for later reading will help keep you from getting sidetracked. Removing all non-essential programs and icons from your computer desktop (and from your physical desktop, too!) can keep you focused. Figure out where you’re getting derailed and create some boundaries to keep you on task.
You can realize productive days instead of just busy, overwhelming, pull your hair out days, however, as I always say don’t just learn new skills and systems, take targeted action and implement.
I’ll share this and more in more detail during The Empowerment Diva’s Fit and Fabulous Coaching Program/Club.
Here’s to a healthy you and a thriving business!

How Important are Autoresponders to Internet Marketing?
What is an autoresponder?
An autoresponder is a computer program that automatically answers e-mail sent to it.
They can be very simple or quite complex.
Wikipedia dictionary
Think about when you sign up for a Teleseminar or free offer, you enter your
name and address or other requested information. Most times you can expect an
automatic email with either a confirm link for double opt in or a welcome.
This would be very tedious if you had to do it manually.
Internet Marketing and autoresponders essentially
go hand-in-hand. You simply cannot be effective or as productive with your
internet marketing without an autoresponder.
Autoresponders are used to achieve many of the marketing tasks
that are essential to a successful business that utilizes online
tools.
Internet marketing can be very time consuming.
Whether you do affiliate marketing or market your own products, an autoresponder is a big part of your
marketing arsenal. Autoresponders are used to keep in contact with your past customers, and to develop
a relationship with potential customers.
Another great use of an autoresponder is to deliver communication to your opt-in customer
list if you have one. It can be very effective in delivering ecourses, to send reminders and even help
build an opt-in list.
There are many creative ways you can use your autoresponder to make more sales and to build customer relations.
Any successful marketer will tell you that there are two tools that are vital to any type of online
marketing an opt-in list and an autoresponder. In fact, most marketers will agree that you could take
away all of their other marketing tools, but they would fight to the death to keep the list and the
autoresponder!
So don’t shy away from the autoresponder simply because you don’t understand how to use it. This is one
thing that is worth learning. If you can, outsource the set up of your autoresponder to get you started
with your listbuilding strategy. Just do whatever you need to do to take advantage of this resource.
I invite you to connect with me if you need support in setting up your autoresponder. I can suggest a
great *autoresponder, go to http://budurl.com/tryautoresponder and you’ll get a free trial when you use
this link. Send an email to info@RobinTramble.com and we can get you set up with a Coaching A la Carte
strategy session to get you started on utilizing an autoresponder.
How important are Autoresponders to Internet Marketing? Very important.
*I am an affiliate of the suggested Autoresponder, however, I don’t suggest anything that I don’t back up
100%. If you do connect I may receive a small commission.

Do you dream of starting your own business? Do you know what skills and traits are needed to be a successful entrepreneur? More importantly, do you think you have what it takes? This article will touch on 7 of the most important traits of a successful entrepreneur.
- Self confidence – the successful entrepreneur is noticeably confident. Self confidence is an extremely important characteristic for the successful entrepreneur. Before you start your business, you should feel confident in your abilities and trust yourself and your unique set of skills. When and if the time comes, the successful entrepreneur knows how to summon the drive and determination needed to achieve his dream of starting his own business. He should be confident enough to tackle adversity and resolve any problems that could interfere with his dream.
- Risk taker – successful entrepreneurs don’t always play it safe. They know when to trust their instincts and act on a hunch. Some of the greatest business ventures in history started from a simple “gut feeling” or “hunch”. Let’s face it, there’s always the risk of loss or failure, but the successful entrepreneurs is not afraid to take that chance.
- Fiscally fit - the successful entrepreneur is careful with his finances. He understands the value of money and is usually very particular about his expenditures for his business as well as in his personal life. He may have learned the value of money at an early age; maybe as a teenager who mowed lawns after school or a little boy who took the neighbors trash out every evening.
- Good Intuition – some entrepreneurs claim to “just know” (hunch) if a product or service is going to be a success. No, they aren’t psychic, most likely they just really pay attention to what’s going on in the world around them. They pay attention to the latest trends and are usually active in their industry in some way.
- Competitive nature – the business world is highly competitive regardless of the industry you’re in. The successful entrepreneur knows he must be aggressive if he wants to achieve his dream. He doesn’t feel threatened by his competitors and is always looking for ways to make his business stand out from the crowd. He’s not afraid to work hard to be successful.
- Honorable habits – the successful entrepreneur has a good work ethic. He welcomes suggestions and criticism from his customers or clients and diligently looks for ways to improve his business products and services based on those suggestions. He believes that good work ethic will lead to better business practices, improved business reputation and good standing among industry peers and business associates.
- Vacation time – the successful entrepreneur recognizes the importance of leisure time. He knows when it’s time to step back and relax and spend quality time with family and friends. Taking time away from the hectic business world rejuvenates our mind and body and allows us to better deal with the stresses and strains that inevitably come with having our own business.
There you have it – 7 of the most important traits of a successful entrepreneur.
Keep in mind that just because you possess some or all of these traits there is never a guarantee that you will be successful. These are but a few of the ingredients in the recipe for success. If you do happen to possess these traits, congratulations! You have a solid foundation to start building your success.

What Do You Do When Someone Trashes Your Work Online?
So, you are sifting through your Google alerts for mentions about your business, and you come across someone trashing your work. What do you do?
Immediately, click the "X" in the upper right corner of your screen and close the page. You've seen it. No point reading it over and over. Take a break and do something completely unrelated to take your mind off the comment. After you have recovered from the initial surprise and hurt, you can attempt to take a rational look at the comment. When you revisit the comment, don't internalize the critique because it is not you who is being attacked. Try to look at the comment and your work as an outsider would.
Here are three things you can do to help get past the sting of a negative critique:
- First, consider the source. Try to understand where the commenter is coming from. It is not always about jealousy or being a "hater." The commenter may truly not like your work. There will always be people who do not like your product. Another thing to consider is maybe this is a person with a limited viewpoint and lack of exposure to new or different ideas. People judge your work based on personal experiences and perspectives.
- Next, do not respond in anger. If you want the person to know that you've read the comments, you can respond with a simple "thank you" and move on. It would be even better to say nothing, and just let the comment ride. Remember that anything you post online is almost impossible to remove so really consider whether it is worth it to type a response. Also, you will be surprised to discover that negative comments will cause people to search for you and your work, and many of them will not share the opinion of the negative commenter.
- Finally, do a self-evaluation to see if there is some truth in the negative comment, and determine where you can make corrections to your work. Use your self-evaluation to improve your future projects.
When you receive a bad review, it is important to keep your head up and stay productive. It's just like dating. The best way to get over a bad date is to get out there and have a good date, and the best way to get past a negative critique of your work is to come back with something great. Don't ever allow someone's opinion to stop your momentum.

We are now in the middle of January and have you begun working on your new year resolution? I don't believe in resolutions. I think every day of your life you should try to change or do something different. You should always have new goals on a constant basis.
I will say this my new year has started slow,I am still trying to tie up loose ends from last year. I think by the middle of February I should be on the right track.
Now what did I learn from last year?
I learned that don't take everything for granted, things and situations can stop or start without your control or your doing.
We as business oriented people sometimes can be too business and not enjoy what we do simply because we become so wrapped up in the bottom line. We forget what was all the hard work for. I truly believe that we should not only have our own business because we don't want to work for others, but because we want to be happy in what we do through the services or products we sell to others.
I understand that the bills are due employees have to paid, but without your hard work, your sleepless nights, and the many tears you have shed you would not be able to accomplish what you have now.
Maybe business is slow self-assure yourself that it will get better that is what I tell myself in all my situations, things will get better don't give up. You have a whole year to progress, change, reevaluate, create a bigger picture for yourself and your business.
So now that the party is over its time to get back to innovation, imagination, communication, motivation, education and do not leave out a great celebration.
